Round Three:2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs The Conference Finals
darksabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I think that's good logic for pretty much any team that isn't the Bruins. That leadership core they have there is strong glue. They might not look great in game 1, but they'll be fine the rest of the series, especially if it goes to 7. -
Round Three:2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs The Conference Finals

I don't think the Bruins will be rusty. Their veteran core has faced so many different situations in the playoffs over the years that they always seem ready for anything now. The way they prepare for games has to be a finely tuned machine at this point and their younger players most definitely follow the leaders. The Blues, meanwhile, are in uncharted territory. -
This is going to be a war of attrition.

The Blues are a boring team. Soooo how about Kane not actually being built for the playoffs? -
He killed two people. Everything he did before that is irrelevant. I expect you to understand that.

This is a surprisingly bad take from you.

It's got nothing to do with changing history. It's about leaving OJ to history itself.
-
Good. It's time for the Bills to move on from OJ.

GMs don't micromanage coaches like that in the NHL. I'm sure they had conversations about it, but (and I know Botts even said this on WGR) lineup decisions are up to Phil. If Phil didn't take his GM's advice, welp, there's one reason why he's not around now.

Did somebody say Yacht Rock?

I mean, it basically has to be this. But I have to admit that not actually getting something we can point to as Lightbringer is super disappointing. And where was Jon ever "born" of salt and smoke. Maybe when I re-watch I'll see it. But man, I don't know. All in all, it could have been worse. It just also could have been better.

I liked Jon trying to do the right thing and still getting exiled. It fits his character that he would have to accept Justice. I like Bran as king. I like Sansa as QotN.

I guess we're just ignoring Arya and the white horse from the previous episode and also now she's Magellan? There were plenty of things to like about the ending but...

I don't think Girgensons was treated fairly by Housley. At least Bylsma let him ply his craft taking faceoffs. His faceoff percentages and volume under Nolan would have put him in the NHL Top 100 this season.

I dunno. I can't see Krueger not following Botterill out the door if things go south, mostly because I expect Krueger and Botterill to be attached at the hip and making roster decisions together. I think it would be hard for Krueger to argue that he didn't get a say in things and that he wasn't partly responsible. We're going to have to call them some kinda nickname. Like Kruetterill.
-
Not letting Reinhart have his own line all season was Housley's biggest mistake. The team was obviously better when Sam could drive his own line and Housley simply refused to accept it.
-
I'm not even mad that the colors are wrong. I'm just disappointed.

Sports is just poker

I thought it was fine too.

Maybe Botterill is drinking the Krueger positivity kool-aid already ?

Yup. I think Casey's talent is in great shape. His body just needs to catch up. He's going to be a better all-around player this coming season and I'm genuinely excited about that. I, like Jason, believe in Casey.
-
Boy, that's a trade bait sales pitch if I've ever seen one. "He's great, but he needs more talent around him. And he's still developing, I promise!"

We spent a lot of time and New Realm when we were in Atlanta. I know it's on the other side of the city from the ballpark but I figured I'd mention it.

This, more than anything, is what draws my ire. They straight up tried to ban Sabres fans from their games. I will hate the Canes for that BS for as long as there is breath in my lungs and blood in my veins.
