  1. I guess we're just ignoring Arya and the white horse from the previous episode and also now she's Magellan? There were plenty of things to like about the ending but...
  2. I don't think Girgensons was treated fairly by Housley. At least Bylsma let him ply his craft taking faceoffs. His faceoff percentages and volume under Nolan would have put him in the NHL Top 100 this season.
  3. I dunno. I can't see Krueger not following Botterill out the door if things go south, mostly because I expect Krueger and Botterill to be attached at the hip and making roster decisions together. I think it would be hard for Krueger to argue that he didn't get a say in things and that he wasn't partly responsible. We're going to have to call them some kinda nickname. Like Kruetterill.
  4. Not letting Reinhart have his own line all season was Housley's biggest mistake. The team was obviously better when Sam could drive his own line and Housley simply refused to accept it.
  5. I'm not even mad that the colors are wrong. I'm just disappointed.
  6. Sports is just poker
  7. I thought it was fine too.
  8. Maybe Botterill is drinking the Krueger positivity kool-aid already ?
  9. Yup. I think Casey's talent is in great shape. His body just needs to catch up. He's going to be a better all-around player this coming season and I'm genuinely excited about that. I, like Jason, believe in Casey.
  10. Boy, that's a trade bait sales pitch if I've ever seen one. "He's great, but he needs more talent around him. And he's still developing, I promise!"
  11. We spent a lot of time and New Realm when we were in Atlanta. I know it's on the other side of the city from the ballpark but I figured I'd mention it.
  12. This, more than anything, is what draws my ire. They straight up tried to ban Sabres fans from their games. I will hate the Canes for that BS for as long as there is breath in my lungs and blood in my veins.
  13. I don't know if there's actually a lot of separation between GM and coach as we'd like to think. Back in the day they weren't even separate positions. They still aren't in soccer. Coaching and GMing have split out into their own things because of the amount of work now involved in doing both jobs. No one man could really handle both at the same time anymore. But I think both people in those jobs have to more or less be able to think like their counterpart. The relationship between coach and GM should be symbiotic. Darcy and Lindy, for better or worse, seemed to have this kind of relationship. I think this is something Botterill might value highly in Krueger, a coach who understands him and can work with him. Perhaps Phil wasn't a good communicator?
  14. If we're going to have replay, it should be comprehensive. If a situation like this isn't replay worthy then let's just scrap it altogether. I'm willing to accept human error over whatever the hell it is we're doing with replay right now.
  15. Right? What's the point of replay? We're out here nitpicking offsides to death but we can't review a hand pass? I'm also positive that hand passes have been reviewed before.
  16. He literally went to Buffalo bars and chatted up random fans about the team. That's... something.
  17. Found my next tattoo.
  18. We should probably spell his name right now
  19. Welp, I'll take Bob's word for it.
  20. I will be stunned if Friedman actually has a scoop here
  21. I think this whole thing started out innocently enough. But it didn't take long for it to devolve into a situation where everyone apparently knew this guy and was his best friend. I don't think he ever asked for all of this attention. I don't fault him at all. Some here might think I'm being overly cynical, but Buffalo is a town that loves to congratulate itself every chance it gets, and this has been no different. It stopped being about him a while ago. And I expect it will still be a while before people (and the Bills) have wrung all they can out of him.
  22. Because children need to understand that being a sports fan is the best way to have your debilitating illness used as a promotional tool by people and organizations seeking to elevate their public standing.
  23. Also, I think the only way Arya doesn't die is if she's not the Prince Who Was Promised. In the original myth Azor Ahai creates Lightbringer by killing his wife. Perhaps Jon is still Azor Ahai and he kills Dany to save Arya (or SANSA) from Dany's paranoid wrath.
