  1. I laughed at this. God bless us this is who we are as Americans. We all do it a little different is all.
  2. How's it a hit piece? McDermott said it. Journalists don't protect the people they cover. Or shouldn't. Much ado about nothing but another example of attack on free speech. The coach wasn't wrong. It wasn't the smartest reference but who said football coaches are smart. Really... You can't say what he said? Hitler had the blimps running on time. Good for him. US airlines could learn something. Ban me.
  3. I get to watch it live (sort of; streaming seems to be delayed about 12 seconds). A rarity. Not usually a good outcome but let's not be superstitious. Kind of a no pressure feeling for me. Pre Xmas home game vs. Montreal should be nice and fun. Loss means little... Would be further confirmation of what we all fear. A win won't really move the needle of the big picture but at least we could entertain some visions of sugar plums.
  4. Let's go beat those ***** frogs. Gilbert Perreault Playoffs 1973
  5. You know who never had too many soldiers on the battlefield?
  6. Yes. You have to include the app itself and customer service into that accurate assessment.
  7. Quinn's loss doomed the Sabres season?
  8. Jack Edwards is fine. He's different though... Hope he's OK. But, yeah, no miracles needed. All games are winnable. And can we throw the injury excuse out the window?
  9. Maybe some day, before he dies, you'll listen to your grandPA. This isn't his first rodeo.
  10. They tried to shut it down but I restored it. Thankfully the Founding Fathers of SS gave posters the right to open and close threads. They were brilliant. They foresaw the danger of power consolidated in the executive branch.
  11. I thought hockey people were superstitious. DG needs to go back to whatever he wore when times were better last season. I will fight this. This isn't the chance of the Sabres beating the Bruins in a series. It's a one game battle in the regular season. All bets are off. No miracles necessary. Just a strong performance. Uh... OK.
  12. The internet has changed a lot of things. This trade gets attention, clicks, chatter. It's elevated in importance bc we all have hammers and there's a nail. Yeah that's right inky. Back in the day of a daily paper, couple of radio stations and 2-4-7, this would have been nothing more than filler.
  13. Listen kids. Santa can't bring much this year. The motor went out in dad's yacht.
  14. At the LaFontain presser, to the question of how Terry thought having a president of hockey ops was going to work, he made his remark about how there would be no hockey emperors at the Sabres and how there's no monopoly on hockey IQ. There's your answer. Flat management structure. Terry cannot be superceded. He has been and is the de factor DOHO. Hence Terry telling Darcy to redo his plan, the hiring of up and comer first timers, newbies and yes men who owe the owner. Terry Murray saw it when few fans did. Until this team is sold, we are screwed with our hockey pants on.
  15. Anywho it was fun and cathartic. Refreshing after the gruel we are force fed by Duff, Lysowski et al.
  16. He was the first to report that a certain former prez utilizes the foot wedge and gives himself 17 foot putts. And he nailed it when the former SI writer Rick (name hidden due to poster senility) came out with a book.
  17. I've had weird, conflicted feelings about the other team scoring on the Sabres (I can't even say a conflicted feeling about the other team actually beating the Sabres, but I remember that icky feeling when the tank came to a head in an infamous home game). But I'll say this. If a bad loss to tonight means a housecleaning, I'd take it, then a shower, and run. I know... Terry picks the new guy/s.
  18. Rumblings? Any details? From your lips to God's ear.
  19. All but Adams? Ooooook.
  20. You lived in Detroit? Who knew.
  21. Terry has had a lot to do with it. This podcast even claims it was Terry who overruled Botterill on the Skinner contract. You are ignoring empirical evidence. Even if he didn't direct specific player signings (he admitted to at least one on the radio, FCS), he has consistently put his thumb on the scale re: how to build the team. Spending spree under Darcy (he criticized the plan Darcy came up with), extreme rebuild/tank late under Darcy (Darcy said TP would determine the extent of the rebuild), E3 during the pandemic. There's a reason TM said right after he was hired that his uncle had warned him... Remember, everyone has a boss. He's there precisely because he is a Yes man, and JB wasn't. And, my dear friend, are you really going to defend KA without knowing what he was doing before getting a GM job in the N H Fing L?! Grown with the team? Hoo boy.
