  1. At least you recognize that example is apples and oranges. :) Stop thinking about the specifics, and try to look at the big picture. Based on this ruling, a "Hindu" company could refuse to pay for treatment of various aliments that one could get for eating bad meat (because they're vegetarian). Deathly ill from eating some questionable hot dogs? Sorry for your luck, you shouldn't have been eating meat. Bio's example of Scientologists not paying for any mental health care is a great example. Better not eat bacon (the HORROR!) if you work for a Jewish company or Muslims, they're not going to cover your bills. They've opened the door to anyone's religious whims become exceptions to the law, and that's bull-######. My only hope is that the Supreme Court has ###### up in the past (see: Dred Scott) and eventually got their heads right. Hopefully drastic measures aren't required in this case.
  2. I didn't! http://forums.sabres...-gm-of-coyotes/
  3. Interesting that no one has tried to refute this. This is exactly the issue with this ruling, not the details which folks are arguing.
  4. Go check out Wanderlust King.
  5. Sorry folks, too good to pass up.
  6. Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 1h Former Sabres GM, Darcy Regier has been named Sr VP and Assistant GM of the Arizona Coyotes.
  7. http://sabres.nhl.co...s.htm?id=725371 Either this is minor enough to not warrant a thread or all the usual suspects have taken the day off from posting.
  8. They should but Rhinehardt in the AHL, he'll learn a lot more there. ;)
  9. It would make sense to start at 5 or so, but I don't know how you fill up the rest of the time. Starting at 5, if the #4 team is announced that means someone made a big jump forward and people get excited because they don't know who and won't until it's announced. Of course, if they put more spots in play in the future it'll be more exciting with this format.
  10. And another, Cary, named after the star of Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
  11. Not new thread worthy. :)
  12. As seen in countless Facebook memes: If Hobby Lobby were citing Sharia Law as the basis for this case, most of people defending the decision would be flipping the ###### out.
  13. This is exactly what he should have been for *this* team of young players. I wasn't nearly as down on him as others either, he made the best of what he had. I don't mind Cody Mc, but no one is going to think twice about doing something that requires answering the bell to him.
  14. Heh, DK's "Holiday in Cambodia" as the lead-in music.
  15. It's just a little Canada day fun, eh? (I heard he was released this morning, so it sounds like a "go home Claude, you're drunk" arrest)
  16. Nope, cap hit is cap hit. total money/years. What you might be thinking is cap recapture, which involves contracts that end after the player is 35 and are front loaded (more money early). In that case, if the player retires before the end of the contract, the team that gained the benefit (paid more than the cap hit) in penalized.
  17. Bataglia signed him.
  18. Sweet Jeebus, these all seem like good moves with reasonable (if a little over) payments. I don't know how to fit this into the "Everyone hates Buffalo" framework. Oh wait, yes I can: the league is slipping these guys money to make sure Buffalo finishes at #4 and misses out on McDavid/Eichel. Order restored in my head.
  19. Nah, he's washed up. Tavares.
  20. Rival is a stretch for the Sabres and anyone for the next few years. Maybe they figure by time the Sabres are good enough to be a problem, he'll be gone.
  21. And when people start tweeting that it's a bad idea. "I'm just presenting another idea."
  22. I've been trying to remember that guy's handle since all the board-talk started up.
  23. Hah, my wife was rolling after reading it yesterday.
