I have a few in a tin somewhere left over from when I used to travel to NYC; the NJ Path ticket machines would give them back as change. I even got a few Susan B Anthony daolars back from those here and there (in the late 90s/early 00s).

I don't think I've ever started a GDT. Wildcard didn't ask me to, he's got visions of figures, words, and diagrams dancing in his head for mid-terms. And not even good figures or diagrams. I'm confused by a couple things in that. Fairly early, the announcer says "player X can't come off the bench or he'll be suspended", while there are 75 guys fighting on the ice. Where did everyone but the initial 12 guys on ice come from? During the penalty announcements, they must have thrown 6 guys out. Do you think Carbonneau got ribbed a bit that he only got 2 minutes for roughing while everyone else got 4, 5, 10, or games? And, none of the teams we consider rivals consider us their main rivals. TOR/MON, BOS/MON, PIT/PHI, NYR/NYI. Maybe Ott'wa does, but I'd guess MON holds that place for them. I had a great conversation with some dude at a party once about Curling (before it was in the olympics) as I used to watch it on CBC on Saturdays. Good times. :)

This was a snow storm creation a couple years ago, it's certainly not pretty but damn was it good: 7-layer pancake-cake with cream cheese frosting and maple syrup. (Cream cheese frosting is super easy to make if you have a food processor, BTW, just some cream cheese and powdered sugar):

Agreed. If the initial conversation with the agent was was, "we think jamie is worth $4M/yr and someone will pay it" there's not much reason to go further from GMTM's standpoint.

My first date with my wife was at Pizza Plant (sadly, the location on Main that's now gone) and it worked out that way. I think we sat and ate/drank for 3 hours (the place wasn't busy so we weren't keeping a table occupied). Then took a walk and finally went our separate directions 6 hours after the date started.

I don't think you can discount the narrative about how much people dislike HRC. Modern politics (as TBGED has told us) is about getting people out to the polls. In a normal election year, HRC might not get enough people excited to make the effort to vote to beat out a standard Republican candidate. This year, I think antipathy for HRC might be offset by the number of people that will come out to vote for not-Trump.

Yep! :) This curmudgeon doesn't hate the sweaters. I wouldn't want my team wearing one, but they're not terrible for an exhibition tournament. I dare say they're even a little bad-ass.

Are players under 24 allowed on team USA and Canada? (I'm really asking) If not, the split makes some, but not a lot, of sense. Otherwise, I'll revise my statement to "a team of under 24s that weren't good enough to make the national teams doesn't make much sense." :)

I could see doing something like team Europe to bring together the good players from countries that don't have enough to put together a team and be competitive, but I'm not sure I understand team North America, considering it ends up being the "B team" to USA and Canada. I could see USA, CAN, SWE, FIN, RUS, CZE, GER, and ROW (rest of the world) as teams.

From my armchair, there's "no way" GMTM fires HCHDDB after just one season coming off last year. Next year if the team doesn't progress, perhaps. If nothing else, firing a guy after one year is burning bridges with other coaches. -

I think Nikki Haley said the other day, "Donald Trump is all the things I taught my kids not to do in Kindergarten." Serious question: why? What about Trump makes you think he'll be a good president? (I'm not trying to be argumentative, I really want to know; others on the board have asked the other Trump supporter (bobis?) and he wouldn't give us anything to go on)

Hah, nice. I thought Lehner was really shaky. At least twice he was making snow angels in the crease for no apparent reason. He made a few nice saves, but the giant rebound on the called back goal, and weak OT goal.
