  1. If I were buying a bike today, it'd probably end up being some sort of adv. I do a little too much gravel and dirt for my street bike's own good. This isn't Fontana, but it's not far away from it!
  2. Yeah, the internet generation; those 80s corporate raiders. I'm not going to let you pin "get rich quick" on Gen X and later, man! :) "The former secretary of State also holds commanding leads Trump among blacks, 90 to 7 percent, and Hispanics, 62 to 23 percent." http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/fox-news-poll-bernie-sanders-donald-trump-hillary-clinton I don't have Obama's numbers handy, but I can't imagine them being that much better.
  3. Why do you think hard lefties would be pro-Clinton? If anything, it'll be the moderate Democrats (DINO, if you like a loaded term).
  4. I've been on a kick for the last few months, with varying definitions of "j". I haven't found a J that just plain didn't work, but some are better than others: - Lingonberry Jelly (from Ikea) - Hot Pepper Jelly from Wegmans - Orange Marmalade - McKay's Ginger Preserves (this is good, and not that sweet) - Mango Habanero Jelly (ok, but it doesn't hold up enough to the PB for some reason) RosePie is on a kick too, currently she likes the lingonberry. I just bought some Key Lime marmalade to try next.
  5. If you're a pessimist, unless green energy takes off, having a military is going to be more and more critical until the oil dries up.
  6. The exhaust doesn't look right for a BMW (it'd be an F800, I think). It looks adventure-y though; maybe an SV1000 (err, I meant V-strom) or the Ducati adv bike.
  7. Absolutely. Also, I think it takes way more than a 2nd and the 3rd to jump from 8 to 4.
  8. For the first at least, 15% prefer "another" between Trump and Clinton. I don't think it's a stretch to say those are Bernie fans; the question is whether those people would vote for Clinton or not come the general election. I can't see many of them voting for Trump.
  9. Fontana Dam is on a great road; at least when the numnutzes driving Mustangs don't clog it up. :)
  10. On a side note, the US military has a directive to go green (as in sustainable fuels and energy). They'd be stupid not to, the oil will dry up so there better be a solution that works after that. It helps that large parts of the military runs on one type of fuel (JP-8), so if they can create a compatible biofuel the transition isn't too bad. The problem then becomes if we can grow enough to supply. In an interesting development, the Army can apparently make 11 gallons of JP-8 from a ton of trash. https://www.army.mil/article/50201/army-converts-garbage-into-energy-reduces-carbon-footprint/
  11. The planet also had a much different climate when the dinosaurs were around compared to now; it was hotter. Like, palm trees in Wyoming hot. EDIT: Deleted VMware troubleshooting link. I think that was Off-topic. :)
  12. I'm guessing a Cereal shoot looks something like pi2000's avatar.
  13. My Nexus 6 did something like that but with some Google App. Eventually it got turned off as I wasn't being active enough. Also, I sometimes don't carry my phone with me when I doing stuff in the yard; it made me mad that it was missing what physical activity I do. On a related note, work sent me a fancy-pants pedometer (syncs over BT, eInk display, etc.). For whatever reason, it's working. I'll go out for a walk at night if I haven't gotten to 7000 steps that day so I can see the little congratulation notice. I crave validation. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but a friend of mine had a retractable lock he used for snowboards. Long story short, we found out a Leatherman was sufficient to cut the cable with no fuss. It'll stop someone from randomly taking your bike, but won't pose an obstacle to someone who wants to steal a bike.
  14. The Bills playoff win drought can drink.
  15. Fort Knox: I like it, clever. The Bank: I like it too, until Fertility Associates of WNY buys the naming rights; it'll still be accurate at least.
  16. Dude, sake is awesome once you get used to it. I will admit it's a bit funky the first time around.
  17. A/C. Take away Air Conditioning, and everywhere south of Virginia becomes far less desirable for a lot of people.
  18. It's been some serious partying around here this week; on Tuesday (as mentioned above) I got out of work late enough that my wife and kid were in bed so Victory for me. Then, my wife's parents have been in town this weekend so I've been out with MrsPie three nights in a row; Friday to "The Whip Tavern" for beef on weck and beer, Saturday to Victory (in Parkesburg), and tonight to Station taproom. I feel like I'm 37 again!
  19. My mom mentioned that it snowed on my grandmother's 70th birthday (which would have been in the late 90s, I think), which was 5/25 (within a day or two).
  20. IIRC, McKee broke down early in that St Louis contract, so saying they bought him out because he was too expensive might be only half true. http://espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4295856
  21. I concur, the recipe I use (that I haven't made in years) is oat-based and turned out like big slices of meatball.
  22. Correct, the first thing you probably had to do was log in with your TV provider info.
  23. You have to be more specific re: "lockout" :wallbash: . At least it's still not on "Outdoor Life Network" sandwiched between huntin' and fishin'. Damn, you beat me too it.
  24. Amazon Prime Video took LIttle Pim away.
