  1. I can't help but notice something when reading these thoughts on Bylsma and Babcock. How many cups has Babcock won?
  2. I'd love to know what his relationship with Garth was, just to see if he went 3-for-3 over his career.
  3. Given the tag under his name, I'd assume Dave would care.
  4. I realize what that is, but thanks to the distortion from the glass, it almost looks like the ghost of his dad is hovering over his shoulder or something.
  5. And then show it on the screen while the game is in progress. Someday they'll figure out that we can just listen to an interview and not actually have to see the person talking.
  6. I dream of someday being referred to as morally non-reprehensible.
  7. I hate that they asked his mother where he will be playing next year in the middle of the national championship game. She handled that really well.
  8. Your last sentence is all I really need to hear on this topic. People can talk all they want about Nolan getting screwed over, but at the end of the day, he's walking away with three years worth of paychecks. Sign me up for that gig anyway.
  9. There are always two sides to a communication problem like you suggested, but this isn't the first time Nolan hasn't been on the same page as his GM. Where there's smoke, there's fire.
  10. I am excited to be sitting in my brand new house watching the draft. The way the timing is starting to look, that may be the very first thing I watching on TV there.
  11. That was a fabrication from the junior hockey media. They make up these stories every year about the higher profile college players. Whether it is an attempt to lure over these player or just to stir up trade possibilities, they've been pretty shameful over the years with this stuff.
  12. Oh god no. I'm having flashbacks to that Philly-Tampa game where they just sat with the puck behind their own net, refusing to carry it up ice.
  13. Well at least he'll quickly be fired after benching McDavid in each game.
  14. Obviously playing in the championship game gives you the greatest chance you can have to win, but if somehow he did stay, that team would be an instant threat next year. They were one of, if not the youngest teams in the entire NCAA. They had only three seniors, one of which was the 3rd string goalie and they were dressing 4 freshman defensemen each night. They've also got a very strong class coming in next year. The main question will be in net with O'Connor more than likely leaving. They had another goalie out this year as a medical red shirt who actually had better career numbers than O'Connor (they both came in as freshmen in the same year). So if Eichel is motivated by a shot at a national championship, there are a lot of factors in place that could draw him back. It's not going to happen though. Quinn can say all the right things in the media, but he and the school have known for a while now that Eichel was a one-and-done. They made about as much out of it as they could and now they're ready to move forward with a new batch of talent.
  15. I don't know why, but I just about fell out of my chair when I read the name "Fart Ross".
  16. Blues jets is going to be a blood bath.
  17. I want to say Van de Velde but I can't find any record of him playing hockey.
  18. The colleges get a bit strange because most aren't actually from Boston. Long Island/New Jersey are the majority of people in that school and God knows those areas have nothing going for them other than nfreeman' residency. The school had won nothing in six years and that covers the entire lifetime of all non-grad school students. The "what have you done for me lately" mentality rules the day.
  19. Goalies are such a strange position. I will never understand the scouting involved with them. To the day, the best college goalie I ever saw was a guy who couldn't city it at even the ECHL level. They're an odd breed that I have long since given up trying to understand.
  20. He will get a nice deal because that's the way it works, but yeah, he certainly created a massive cloud that will hover over his head for a long time. Even that GWG hit him in the shoulder.
  21. I lose track of exactly which ME team hD which problems. There's a lot revolving around them.
  22. Have fun reading up on the scandals surrounding those Maine teams.
  23. He needs significant time in the AHL. I don't want to write him off, but I also don't want anyone to think he is an immediate savior.
  24. He's one of the oldest out there. He was a 23 year old junior. He is goi g to be the story of this tourney years from now. He will have a lot on his shoulders. I think people expect to see Eichel score 5 a game each night. That will never be how it works in college. That kid is miles ahead of everyone out there and when you take the time to watch the little things, you know it. To see a freshman dominate in the way he did, it is truly amazing. I've been Round for the last 15 years and no be has come close to what he has done. Toews is the golden child and Eichel blew him out of the water, who by the way was also not a national championship winner.
