  1. Well at least not everything is bad.
  2. Can you use some of the figures for those games on multiple systems? Basically, can your kid take it over to his/her friend's house and still use it?
  3. At least you get a little toy with these additions now. The non-kid games have such a ridiculous scam going with selling their downloadable content. They sell you an incomplete game and then keep raking in cash as they make more portions of it available to you.
  4. I'm having a potential electrical issue in my house and I'm not sure what to think about it. Two times this week I've heard something that sounds like a light bulb blowing out as I flipped a wall switch. The first time (last sunday) the sound was about 15 seconds or so after I hit the switch and had walked away. I wasn't really sure where it was coming from, and since we had food going in the crockpot, I thought maybe it was just a bubble in there. The second time I heard the noise (last night), it happened immediately as I hit the switch, so I knew exactly where it came from. Should I be concerned about this? I've never heard a sound like this from a switch and I don't know a thing about wiring and the like. I've already emailed the builder about it (new construction home, been here about 5 months), but haven't heard back yet. So I'm stuck playing the waiting game right now.
  5. I was so tempted to pick up Lego Dimensions for my brother and his son last night. That thing's pricey though. Ultimately, I decided not to since his son is still a bit young for games.
  6. More on this. Apparently the mother-in-law is trying to convince my wife to head up there without me for thanksgiving next year. It's nice to see how I'm viewed.
  7. We did the same, slowed down significantly and had the blinker on.
  8. The wife certainly needs to grow a spine and stick up for herself, but that day is never coming. I just try to stay the hell out of the way because I know I'm never winning this one. It just amazes me how little my thoughts matter to them (and I'm being generous by saying how little). Actually, I take that back, I am winning this one because no matter how much the meddle, I know who I'm sleeping next to each night.
  9. My only experience with being in a pulled over car came when I was much younger, so I don't really have a good perspective on this. I do know from those cases though that you definitely reap what you sow. Treat them with respect and that's what you'll get in return. There was only one time where we got a lot of attitude from the cop, but we totally understood it. My friend was speeding on the highway at night in a section that had the entire right lane blocked off with cones for future construction. My friend had one of those "oh crap, you got me" reactions, but had no idea where to pull over. He wound up driving for an extra mile or so until the cones were gone and immediately pulled over. The officer right away wasn't happy about that, but my friend was very quick with the "sorry sir, I had no idea where to pull over" and his attitude changed fairly quickly. I'm sure it didn't hurt that he could clearly see the goalie pads and hockey sticks in the back seat and knew right away where we were coming from. I can't remember whether or not he wound up with a ticket, as I didn't particularly care too much since I wasn't the one at fault. Honestly though, I think I would have done the same exact thing had I been driving. I see those cones as a "stay the hell out of here" message and would have been just as confused. The road was fairly deserted, so there wasn't any risk of accident. What would the officer expect a driver to do in this situation?
  10. The in-laws have apparently planned a summer getaway weekend which involves renting a beach house in ME without once asking us for our thoughts. They've got a place and price already set. I'm glad to see my input is valued, especially given that we need to spend extra to fly up there... and of course securing the time off.
  11. The following is possibly a spoiler, I'm not sure, but it's just speculation based on the clip released monday. So take that as your warning, but I don't think it requires tag since it is nothing more than speculation. The popular opinion online is that monday's clip was a Batman nightmare of what Superman could become. Thinking of it that way, it makes a hell of a lot more sense.
  12. An eccentric effeminate Lex Luthor. It's an odd move, no doubt.
  13. I'll probably get punched for asking, but is this legal?
  14. It's another vague term, but it's definitely out there. I don't think it's a stretch to think that people would model an attack after a previous one in hopes of hiding their true intent. That or the cases where some idiot thinks a previous event was "cool" and wants to do the same. This garbage is definitely out there. Anyway, I just included it in my list as an example of the numerous types of attacks we are seeing, an intentionally vague example. edit: Actually, I'd wager a guess that these are the kind of plots that the police wind up preventing well in advance. You get some clueless person having now idea what he or she is doing and they send up a million red flags.
  15. Honestly, I'm getting fed up with the terrorism label being thrown at everything. It's too generic a label at this point. Whether it's ISIS conducted, ISIS inspired, or just a frustrated person out for revenge, I'm much more interested in specific labels like that. You get a much stronger idea of their reasoning.
  16. Nothing beats the original. The mixed flavor ones just seem wrong to me.
  17. I think it will be very telling what kind of deal they wind up working out with Ristolainen before next season. Do they go with a bridge deal or do they wind up with something more long term. That may very well paint a picture for how they wind up dealing with our two rookies in a couple years. That also just happens to be the same exact year Kane's deal is done. As Hoss mentioned upthread, you can make these things work, but it's going to be very interesting given that those three all hit in the same year... with or without anything Stamkos related.
  18. Did they ever say much about what the gunmen in France were wearing? I don't remember hearing anything about body armor in either case, but my memory is foggy on that one. This one feels like the lonewolf copycat type scenario to me, granted that's a very early and mostly blind perception of it.
  19. So that answers that question: Doomsday
  20. He's way to pop culture friendly to ever pull out a Streisand reference.
  21. One angry man leaves and returns with two others, fully armed and wearing armor (if that report was true)? That doesn't quite add up.
  22. Just hearing the Aviator name makes me want some wings. I guess I could get some beer to go along with them. None of their stuff has really stuck out to me though.
  23. I'm dying to know the answer to this one.
  24. This reminds me of when I moved and my mother-in-law labeled every single box as fragile (don't ask why she was labeling boxes).
  25. You did read the post, right?
