My most shining moment was at one point during the winter where I woke up at 1:30 in the morning and immediately jumped in the shower. It wasn't until I got back into the bedroom and my wife asked me what the hell I was doing when I realized that it wasn't anywhere near my morning wake up time. It turned out really well though because there's nothing better than getting to go back to bed after you think you've woken up for the morning.

Expansion draft and league-wide wheeling and dealing

Is there a singular list anywhere as opposed to multiple strung together tweets? I want bullet points. -
Expansion draft and league-wide wheeling and dealing

They might wind up with some decent talent, but look at how common it is for new guys to have chemistry issues after a signing or trade. Now imagine every single player on the team being in that situation. There's going to be a ton of growing pains. -

Everything Sabres Uniform Related - Royal Blue Please!

Random nitpick, but I wish they would have put an authentic version of the old preds jersey on there for the comparison. I hate seeing the size labels. Whatever person decided ages ago to do an external size label should be shot. It can only lead to fat jokes. -

And beyond that, he more than likely has already had very active discussions with teams about specific guys who are available. There will be no game of chicken here when it comes to the need to move someone. As for the draft itself, I'm amazed that even one team would give up a first round pick, let alone multiple teams. I could understand something in the late 20s, but that Islander pick is much earlier. -
Sabres/NHL official protected lists...here they are

Strangely enough, I think it's safe to say that each of team teams for all three of those players mentioned are content with where they are right now. There might be some cap games to be played, but they're definitely not the idiots they were made to be earlier in the thread. -
The defense has been just about everyone's focus in the last few months. When I read through those lists the other day, it was the first time where the goalies really jumped out at me. It really goes to show how unpredictable this whole thing could be. There's so much plausible trade bait out there that opens up so many possibilities.

Yeah, one of those bad contracts went to the conference finals and the other has back to back cups. They sure are idiots. I'll concede on Phaneuf, but that's it. -
I like the thought of picking up at least 4 goalies. They can definitely start a little goalie carousel around the league. There's enough names on that list that can earn them a lot of trade bait. There are going to be enough teams out there who want to shuffle their deck a bit in net and there are a lot of options here.

No, the idea was that you give them the negotiation rights after the expansion draft has occurred in return for them taking a Moulson or Bogosian. A pick would probably be thrown in the deal as well. And I don't mean to say it's a Buffalo specific plan. They could work something like this out with anyone. I just use the Buffalo names as an example since I'm most familiar with them. It's the money requirements from the draft that complicate things. That may convince them to draft the bad contract guy as opposed to signing the UFA. I'd love to be a fly on that wall in order to see how ridiculously involved this whole process is. And just imagine if there was a second expansion team and it was a true "you go, I go" draft process. -
The first time I ever flew by myself, I went to a movie the night before that had a huge plane crash scene. I'm not one to be bothered by that stuff, but I found it pretty funny. That was definitely an issue Thursday. The day was a bit of a parade of errors leading up to the appointment. I'm guessing the lesser issues today were all because that day was in the back of my mind. Sitting around and waiting while the woman tapped away at both arms trying to find a vein game it time to stew in my mind a bit. Well, that and when she poked one arm but didn't get anything. "Not this again" definitely popped into mind as she switched over to the other arm.

I'm at the "better safe than sorry" stage in my life. I've seen too much crap go down in the last couple years to not keep on top of everything. I'm working at a hospital anyway, so it's not like it's an inconvenience to head in for the checkup. I could see staying away if that wasn't the case though. This odd blood draw experience may mess with that a bit though. I'm sure it'll be in my head next time. It definitely was this morning.

It wouldn't even necessarily have to be the bad contract, but they're definitely going to wind up with at least one of those guys from around the league. It could instead be that guy team A wants them to take instead of another unprotected player. Either way, I could see some free agent rights being involved in these trades. They get moved each year anyway, so why not add in another option for potential Vegas moves. -
Sorry about that. First time ever?

Expansion Draft -- Sabres moves and speculation
shrader replied to SabresBaltimore's topic in The Aud Club
Some guys definitely can honorable enough to stick to that pre-arranged deal after waiting it out. We had it so recently with Anitpin. It obviously depends on the person and the team will have to know who they're dealing with, but I'm willing to bet that there will be at least one case of this happening, they agree with a guy but then wait to sign him. The sad part is that we'll never see any proof of that though. -
I'm a complete homer and given our potential dearth of future goalie options, I wish they could find a way to add Oettinger. Unfortunately I think that would take a bit of maneuvering to happen.
-
I think you figured it out, but it's the exact opposite. I return to Sabrespace, my stress level rises, and I'm a complete wreck. I'll have to ask them how to diagnose that.

That's a trade angle that really hasn't been mentioned much. I could see Vegas being interested in taking on one of the pending free agents like Kulikov in exchange for picking a guy like Moulson. I don't mean to suggest that as the entire trade, but they could take Moulson, and in exchange receive a pick and the rights to Kulikov. Insert any team and any bad contract/pending free agent combo you'd like. Vegas gets their pick and also an extended window to talk with that player. -
I'd imagine the whole thing gets taken care of before it can ever get to arbitration. I can't imagine how awkward that would wind up being with everyone on both sides being so new, both the GM and the player being on a new team. He has to feel wanted after a trade and they obviously want him as well. I imagine it gets worked through pretty quickly. Maybe he files, but he never actually gets to a hearing. As for an actual dollar amount, I have no clue.

All of a sudden I'm someone who has trouble with getting blood drawn. I've never had any issues until thursday. They could find any good veins, then I got really warm and they told me I looked like I was about to pass out. After the long delay, I decided to just come back another day because at that point it was in my head. Today was the second attempt. They had trouble finding a vein again. That warm feeling came back, but not as badly and eventually they did get the blood. I don't get it. Just about the only thing that bugs me from the whole process is sitting and waiting, but it was never an issue until just now.

Forget the pronunciation. I think this will be the first Sabre where we'll all have to forgive the thousands of spelling errors we are about to see.
-
There's nothI got that requires them to take three. There will be free agent options as well where they can fill up their ranks in the net.

See I'll take the opposite stance. Since bounceyball is so lame, the playoffs might as well be too.
