  1. And don't quote it either. It forces us to actually be able to see the posts.
  2. He had been gone for a few years at that point. His last few teams in Boston were pretty lackluster. He saddled them with a bunch of big money players that bombed. One of his last parting gifts was Carl Crawford (still can't believe LA bailed them out of that one). I'm not sure why I'm digging too much into this as I haven't watched baseball in years now, but living out there, his run there definitely fizzled out in the end. I'm blanking on the name of his replacement, but that guy definitely had to do a ton initially to get that team back up their in 2013.
  3. Well they did win the world series right away with him.
  4. My office is having a scary cubicle decorations contest later this month. Mine is covered with stuff from Buffalo sports teams. I'm a virtual lock to win this thing.
  5. I should have added a ;) . I tried to think of people I was least likely to add to my block list. Our hit and run posting (assumed) leaf fan troll is my new addition.
  6. They should pull a major curve and reveal her as Snoke. She's got the right bloodline for it. I'm sure that idea is completely shot since she's not around anymore though.
  7. My wife has never had a dog in her life and never wanted one. She was at our neighbor's house on friday. They run a vet's office and were fostering a 6 year old labradoodle that a customer had to give up. She absolutely fell in love with the dog, spent the whole time with the dog instead of with the other women who were having a book club meeting. She was absolutely begging me all weekend that we need to get this dog. I reached out to that neighbor yesterday and unfortunately, they're going to keep it since their kids have gotten very attached to it already. I figured that would never be an option since they have two already, but apparently this dog sucks everyone in.
  8. They always beat them just in Buffalo though, right?
  9. I wish there was a single click option on a post to add someone to your ignore list. Something has to be done to stop this Taro T monster.
  10. They need to figure out something very soon because it's going to get ugly fast. Getting booed off the ice in the second home game, the so called kids' day, is a sign of serious trouble. And the thing is, short of a trade, there is no reinforcement coming anytime soon. The kids need to be exposed to winning in the AHL. There's no way they're going to be subjected to what's currently going on with the big club. I'll give them credit for one thing though, at least they convince me pretty early in the game not to waste my time watching the rest of it.
  11. It's a hell of a lot easier to establish yourself as a character guy over 4 years. They lean towards the guy who stuck with it and stayed in college a few more years.
  12. And far too often, the elite leave before they would have truly had a shot at the award. Even with the level of talent these kids have, it's tough for an 18 year old to out class a 22 or 23 year old. There's also a character aspect that the voters like to factor in on the selections. That right away typically biases them towards the upperclassmen.
  13. We put too much weight into the right hand/left hand thing. If a vet like Gorges starts the season in the press box behind a journeyman, it tells you a lot about where he fits with the team.
  14. And either way, he’s restricted after the year
  15. I'll be very curious if they try to find a way to free themselves from Gorges if/when everyone is healthy. Tennyson getting the start over him is very telling. Only of those two will need to be passed through waivers. With Chicago signing Franson, you never can tell what other teams might do. I could see the team trying to gauge interest in Gorges that way.
  16. People can rant about Lehner all they want, but it doesn't matter what he does if the team doesn't score a single goal in the shootout. At the end of the day though, I'd still much rather see them lose in the shootout instead of in regulation. Those points count for something. The key to this entire season is going to be what happens during regulation, not overtime. The only way they're going to take that next step is if they start winning more and never letting it get to the point of free hockey.
  17. I missed her story. What was it?
  18. It's not like they're going to be able to pack it up and put it away during a game.
  19. Oh god, I'm getting bad memories of the Ryan brothers.
  20. I'm jumping back a bit in this one. I don't like including Hasek in the discussion. That was a completely different time. In my mind, the modern hockey era starts with the return from the lockout in 2005. I know that strictly limits how much time we have to work with, but with the cap came a whole new world.
  21. I have two words for you: Garth Snow
  22. The Sabres officially have the slowest press box in the NHL.
  23. Hockey teams also don't play in an arena designed specifically for basketball all while constantly facing rumors of relocation. That's an extreme scenario out there in Brooklyn.
  24. I'm not quite sure I want to know what lead you to that second account.
  25. I don't remember a thing about the food, but I do know the Ground Round at the Seneca Mall had the deal where a kid would step on a scale and then the price would be their weight. Could you imagine if someone actually tried to have that deal today?
