I know that feeling. I'm starting a 10 day vacation next wednesday and I'm as close to coasting mode right now as is humanly possible. As for complaints, that 10 day vacation will be entirely spent staying in one house with the wife's entire family (5 other adults and 4 kids all under 7). I'm still not sure why I label it as a vacation. And also, I've been stuck in what seems like a permanent waiting mode on some other things. There's light at the end of the tunnel, but it never seems to actually get any closer.

All this talk based off of one picture is pretty funny. The real strength of hockey players is below that table anyway (quiet, inkman).

Now just imagine a scenario where the best workers in the company all get together and work a couple extra days without getting paid for it. At the same time, all the crappy workers get to sit at home, already having pocketed their pay.

They’re already going to unload the brinks truck in Matthews’ front yard. It’s a waste of time both for the player and for any team to even bother with negotiations. You’re not going to land him and you’re not going to alter the cap hit in any realistic way.

Hello good citizen, my name is Batman.

Or Lou has caught a case of Islanderitis. Who knows what you can catch from sitting in Garth Snow's chair. You have to clean the hell out of that office before you take it over.

Is the thread going to turn into a snickers commercial now?

By "her follow up" do you mean the lawyer? Anyway, if you are going to throw a laundry list of accusations like that out at someone, every single one better be completely air tight or else you introduce doubt into the equation.
-
Probably a big part of why the lawyer told the woman to remove the post.

I just want them to constantly play a clip from Spaceballs on the jumbotron but alter the words to "keep firing, Ahos".

Apparently he retired in 97, then coached for a year with Calgary, before coming back out of retirement to play 3 more years.

And as a result, it's natural to think that she might be facing an uphill battle with that legal representation. But anyway, you know things are incredibly messed up already when the victim is quickly getting statements out there through a lawyer. I'm not sure which came out first since I'm seeing them at pretty much the same time, the police statement or the lawyer's statement. These women probably hurt their case right off the bat by throwing the accusations at McCoy online immediately.

Is this the same Steve Smith, defenseman from the Gretzky era Oilers?

It seems like the kind of thing a lawyer should know better than to do, especially with something that you're releasing to the public. Years ago back in the middle of when the firm had their brief name change, I stopped at a bar on my way home after after a Sabres-Bruins game, fairly far away from their arena. A random girl starts asking me about my Sabres jersey. Long story short, she tells me she's the daughter of one of the two, I forget which one. Anyway, I wonder if that's the same daughter.

For the second time in less than a year, a house in my neighborhood was struck by lightning this past weekend. Fortunately I wasn't around this time when it happened. The two are so close together too. It's not too often that you can seek out someone with first hand advice on this whole process by just walking across the street. That other family just moved back in about a month ago. And I hope I'm not blaming the victim here, but the two houses are the same exact model.

Is that an attempt to dance around the possible defamation that runs pretty thick in that statement? Sometimes I wish people didn't have to hide behind all the lawyer speak and would just come right out and say it. The lawyer of the woman from the original post was definitely worried about defamation issues.

I can also see a scenario where a buddy decides to go there on his own and then things get out of hand quickly. So that's a case where neither McCoy or the ex-girlfriend did something stupid.
-
Why would they though? It's already out there and screen grabbed a million times. You can't close that door. I'd imagine that countless more people have heard of it from a source other than instagram at this point.

So if you're going to go the tennis route, you would instead have to call him ball. Sadly, that nickname is already claimed by Phil Kessel.

So the assumption would be that the wounds are from last night, but has anything actually said that? That would be what some of the posts saying that they're trying to find any actual medical or police report would be looking for, I'm sure. The whole thing is coming from such a strange path.

Do any of the links give a date for when the potential attack happened?
-
If there's a court appearance scheduled for today, there's probably going to be contact between the two in some form. If nothing else, the legal speak is probably going to be very fresh in your mind as you're preparing.

I only read what TrueBlue posted about that earlier, so I have no idea where it went after that. What wound up happening? And your point?
-
Exactly. I probably reacted too early but "I ignored child abuse but I will not ignore this" was how that the initial post read to me. To me, there's an inconsistency in the whole way that thing was listed out. It's entirely possible that it was done during an overly emotional state, but everything about it leaves a sick feeling in my stomach. I'm sure it's a cultural/generational thing, but if something like this is happening, I'm not running to social media immediately. I at least get police involvement, especially when it's something I want to make public. Maybe they did, but I would hope that someone from a media source like WGR (that was the initial one posted here, correct?) would find that record before posting his/her response. I have a very obvious bias against social media postings as a whole. I'm sure that is very obvious.
