  1. Some days aren't?
  2. We've had a ton of rain over the last two weeks. That couple with some warmer weather and my lawn is practically cartoon radioactive green. I love it.
  3. Is there anything they can't do?
  4. I'll use this one to try to recover the thread. There was talk in here earlier about the people out there taking advantage of these protests. I watched most of the coverage out of Raleigh last night. At one point, I forget the time but probably after midnight, one of the three reporters approached a group of 5 or 6 20 somethings to interview them. The first woman he talked to did not know George Floyd's name. She then mentioned how she goes from city to city for these events. Another in the group then quickly jumped in and started spouting off very cliche "I'm from here" responses. The first one screwed up and went off the script, so to say, and the second stepped in and tried to clean it up. But she was very clearly making it up. These are the people we need to worry about during these events. Are they there just to destroy stuff? Do they want to derail the cause? Who knows, but they're clearly there for chaos. Those on the street interviews are really interesting stuff though. I saw just about every single angle among the people out there. That in a way shows exactly why these things go bad, thousands of people out there and hundreds of different reasons. He's a thread killer. Sometimes people just need to just leave it alone, let a post or two be a clear example of who that person is, and not respond to it. He's the message board version of what I just described above.
  5. Trade him to the KHL? They can still make him his qualifying offer with or without this move and then they still retain his rights. Then if he wants to come back to the NHL, but not here, then you can trade him.
  6. The older guys coming over mid-season would have to clear waivers, wouldn't they?
  7. Lottery balls must be very expensive. If the odds aren't changing, it's pretty clear that they just don't want to buy new balls. And I'll wait and see who makes the comment first.
  8. They want to avoid going up against the NFL? No sunday games early in the year. I guess you're still left with the monday and thursday night games, but they could minimize those days too if they really wanted to.
  9. My work commute is right around a total of 50 miles a day. I just looked at my odometer and I've put 700 miles on my car since the start of March. Say what you want about all the craziness we're living through right now, but I've saved a ton on gas since this all started. With the car starting to get a bit older, I've also extended its life a bit.
  10. That's the exact reason it drives me mad anytime I hear someone suggest that the draft lottery odds should be flipping, giving the greatest chance to the team with the best record. You'd see a whole new kind of tanking that is far worse for the so called integrity of the game, teams throwing in the towel on a playoff race. In a McDavid year, I'm sure there are plenty of teams who would rather have that 20% chance at him instead of the very last playoff spot. Blah blah blah, players won't try to lose. That doesn't matter. Management will find ways around that.
  11. Don't let Smell know. He'll steal them and be off to hide in the bushes.
  12. How many other sports even have this setup where you move a bunch of teenage boys away from home and throw them all together. Stupid stuff is guaranteed to happen. That stupidity then gets magnified by the so called traditions.
  13. That's a bit more than a 500. With stuff starting to open in various places, people have probably missed the boat at this point. The roads will still be lighter, but the peak time was probably about a month ago at this point.
  14. Go break in and drive your own indy 500.
  15. Can't you read? Clearly he's in the time travel industry.
  16. The couple websites I looked at for Texas law said that an open container on its own is not arrestable. But couple with another violation, they can arrest you. If he was in fact going that fast, there's the other violation that they need. The open container is the crime, so they have the green light. If those two details are true, open container + driving nearly double the speed limit, I have absolutely no problem with searching the car. The law might saw otherwise, particularly in Texas, but we'll see. edit: @LGR4GM, the beer glass acknowledgement of your post seemed too appropriate here.
  17. There's a state trooper (maybe a different department, can't remember) over on the Bills board who usually chimes in on thread like this. I might skim through their thread to see if he's said anything. He's usually pretty interesting during these topics. They definitely don't need a warrant. It goes right back to the whole probable cause discussion. There's just so much gray area there that Saul Goodman can usually walk all over it.
  18. I just assumed arrestable green lights the search. They have possession of the car at that point.
  19. The guy from My Name is Earl? That show wasn't on that long ago. Seriously though, I do know who he is.
  20. Did I post in here a couple days ago about the brand new fridge in my garage completely filled with beer? I've got you covered. They'll love this neighborhood, rabbits everywhere.
  21. I don't know Texas' laws on open containers (that's where he is, right?), but the open container in plain sight seems like it should be enough for probable cause. Actually, after some googling, the combination of the open container and the speeding makes it an arrestable offense.
  22. Can I borrow one? A rabbit snuck into my fenced off garden and ate every single bud on the flowers.
  23. Probable cause of a pissing match? Look at the pants.
  24. I'm sorry, but what exactly is Hank doing wrong here? He's at least trying to look at actual documentation here as opposed to blindly making inferences about the situation.
