  1. I hear ya. Some youtube guys were delivering consistently, the best one tweeted this week "see you all in oct!".
  2. I think our best bet is going to be https://tv.youtube.com/if it ever gets to us. https://techcrunch.com/2017/06/23/youtube-tv-expands-to-10-more-u-s-markets-adds-more-youtube-red-series/ For Sabres, I did pretty well last year with reddit links or my friend's NBC login when it was an NBCsports game. I sleep at night by paying for Center Ice despite the Sabres block. And then I get to watch some Edmonton, and when on the road for work the Sabres games are a bonus. We are OTA + Youtube Red + Netflix. So $40 / month there. Then I added turbo TWC given all the streaming (2 adults 3 teens) so another $80-ish there. Anyways I'd fork over $300-$500 a year to MSG directly without hesitation. I just can't justify $1200 per year for cable tv full of crap we don't watch.
  3. Pierre LeBrun‏ Verified account @PierreVLeBrun 19m19 minutes agoMore Pierre LeBrun Retweeted Mike Harrington Expectation is that will be Randy Sexton, who will leave Penguins to become Sabres AGM and GM of Rochester https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Sexton
  4. Edmonton on the Friday night after Thanksgiving is going to be a tough ticket! $$$
  5. I don't know. I don't think he's anything special, but Flynn has "made it" to full time NHL. O'Reilly clearly has not. It's a good example for this thread. I think Flynn's speed is the single biggest difference. Another example is TJ Brennan. He, like O'Reilly, has also had opportunity, but has been unable to break through (slow foot speed?). This was one thing I loved about AHL/Amerks games when I had seasons years ago. These guys are literally playing to earn a million (or millions of) dollars, and it's complicated. The blue chips are at times less interesting to watch. You already expect them to make it, so it's more of a story when the suck or under perform (ie: Nylander struggles this year). But the undrafted/late rounders, or 4 year college players like Alex Biega, are on an uncertain journey with massive financial stakes. I've always thought the Amerks would benefit from marketing that angle more...but then again, they aren't trying to sell tickets to people on a Sabres message board.
  6. Brian Flynn comes to mind here minus the insane hand/eye. Undrafted, comes to AHL and stands out quickly - speedy and smart, sound defensively. He made it. Solid 3rd / 4th line player making a million a year.
  7. And a good network/name. Look at Nolan's kid as an example. I would argue that especially compared to the other major sports, the NHL gives more opportunity to friends of friends of the powerful.
  8. Woah, nice. NBCSN = Formula 1 as well. Been a good season so far. Looking at full line-up: FS1, FS2, ESPN, ESPN2 - this is solid, I'm in. but..."SORRY, YOUTUBE TV IS NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA YET" (14450).
  9. So tired Gionta and his sound-byte say nothing machine. If he wasn't WNY native, he'd be same level as Pomminstein's garbage "i don't have a favorite chicken wing". Hey Gionta, Risto pushed back! Then he got punched in the jaw by Kadri and sat in the box for the res5 of game. Seriously Gionta, push back yourself! Kadri is your size. Clown.
  10. Now would be a good time for some dick on the Leafs to do a golf swing...just saying....
  11. Babcock is the boss of his team. Can we say the same for Byslma?
  12. Sabres still look better than Aerosmith though.
  13. Yup. And remember if you are offsides by 1/2 inch, the linesman misses it, and 30 seconds later score a beauty tape to tape, NO GOAL!
  14. Same. Not a fan of this coach, but Bogo was really bad tonight and Reinhart struggled in our end too. Malkin and Crosby are still way better than our best players. In a few years that won't be the case. Tired of waiting for it, but it is what it is.
  15. Also Malkin destroyed Foligno w/ speed through neutral zone on that goal against. But Bogo mostly. Is a fun a game.
  16. ....Bogosian in the head, sure. Took himself out of play.
  17. Pens feed said Eichel on 10 game point streak, longest current active in NHL. Season best (forget who) is 12. Also points in 14 of 16 since Feb 1. Nice.
  18. Wasn't the biggest Coller fan but miss him now. Can't do Sal as the constant fill-in, mostly because I'm not interested in Bills. Schopp appears to be on vaca this week as well. Regardless, if the team was in the playoffs, or close to it, I think there would be coverage all day.
  19. Yup. First time in years they haven't covered it "wall to wall". Sucks it's come to this.
  20. I heard a rumor a couple months ago Pegula group is considering getting involved/purchasing RYH like they did the Regals and that Gionta would lead it. Call it an Eklund e-1 or whatever the lowest # is. Maybe buy Bill Grays and expand on that main rink? Would probably need a couple years to build it out. Either way, biggest piece of Amerks being empty is because they've sucked for like 15 years. That's not on the city.
  21. No you're right. Re-watched. Kane skate gets caught on top of goalies pad. The skill by those 2 is pretty freaking amazing. Speed. Perfect pass. Finish. Eichel owned Hertl behind the net. Hertl goes "oh " and tries to get a head start. No match. Sabres! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU_56eJ0NxU
  22. 100%. My first thought after excitement too. Was deliberate.
  23. Crazy. And Okposo was like 6 feet out of the zone. I suppose the rule is intended to prevent slop along the blue line ie must have possession. At least we didn't lose a close one it.
