  1. Dreger is in. http://www.todaysslapshot.com/nichols-notes/dreger-hes-become-poster-boy-terms-nhl-bad-boy-club/ "Dreger. “Look, Tim Murray and the Buffalo Sabres don’t make that mammoth deal with the Winnipeg Jets if they know that they’re getting a player who isn’t going to be able to keep his nose clean off the ice.
  2. Do it! I'm way to much of a to go in a place like that. Does sound cool though.
  3. Interview - http://media.wgr550.com/a/116662751/robin-lehner-speaks-with-paul-hamilton-from-harborcenter.htm "i'm 100%" "want to be here w/ my guys/team rather than worlds" "lost weight, feel very fast" training at http://www.wnymma.com/ (featuring video above) (probably has some cash invested if advertising for it?) Saying all the right things. I agree @dark, seems like a very good match in terms of skills/strength/fitness. If this guy pans out to be better than average this is going to be a fun ride.
  4. http://www.twcnews.com/nys/rochester/news/2016/09/9/evander-kane-court-buffalo-sabres-forward-june-incident-.html Adjourned until 10/31.
  5. I get nervous when young fast skill players do time in the AHL. I suppose Ennis came out OK, but after that, who's the last "skill" player to successfully take that route for Sabres? Girgensons almost got killed before getting out (6'2"). Foligno is a grinder. Grigorenko is big at 6'3''. My man Tropp, while not the same level I know, was also wrecked after a promising NHL/AHL stint. I'd love to see this kid in person on the cheap in ROC, but yeah. AHL with respect to forwards, is a grinder league fighting for 3rd-4th line NHL jobs, isn't it? Panik v Girgensons
  6. :worthy: @mattpie Nolan vs Grigorenko rd 2. Probably just move the AHL guy up. San Antonio Rage - Eric Veilleux, though he doesn't appear to be very experienced.
  7. Roy out in Colorado https://twitter.com/kristen_shilton Patrick Roy announces he's leaving Colorado Avalanche organization, where he was head coach and VP of hockey ops Roy says vision of HC/VP needs to be aligned with organization and he must have say in decisions team makes, but those needs not being met. Roy was critical of Avs' core in April. Said team needed more leadership, more character guys in room. Mindset needed to change.
  8. Yeah unfortunately we seem to be at the center in Buffalo with 2x Kane and O'Reilly. On NFL, for me it was Ray Lewis. Dude was an inch away from a murder charge, but NFL marches on with him as cover boy. They ask us to discard our values and enjoy the entertainment / athleticism blindly. I think we need to draw a line, and violent crime is a good place to do so. Lynch hit/run was bad, but he's grown on me as apparently a good dude who made a couple of bad decisions.
  9. We have 4 women publicly saying he assaulted them. Prior to this draft-weekend incident, I heard of one other account this winter at a party in Buffalo cornering a woman in a bathroom, dudes had to step in and break it up, etc. I'm good with not-guilty in court of law if evidence isn't there. But man this stuff doesn't appear out of thin air. When I think of shared values I think of work ethic, honesty, integrity, etc. I don't think of not using your power as a celebrity and strength as a man to assault women. I'm not suggesting his on the ice contribution is a negative. I'm saying if as a fan-base we are cheering for him, that's up. Pegula's need to recognize that and not put the community in that situation. I can parse it that way for regular stuff like recreational drug use, a DWI, bar fight, etc, but not for beating up on women.
  10. If the facts are enough to decide "keep him away from my girls", how are they not also enough to say "get him off my beloved hockey team"? It's not like he's a druggie, or lazy, or whatever and you just don't want the girls hanging around a loser. This is completely unacceptable behavior and as a society/community we should take a stand, court/civil rights kept separate.
  11. IDK but I read some of it, googled a bit, and got mad. She's brave. She could just walk away and go about her life anonymously. Instead she's taking him on, probably because it was that bad and she doesn't want any more victims. I hope Terry and Kim Pegula read it themselves and think hard about what message it sends when they continue to employ and promote a man who behaves this way.
  12. 100%. I only look for alternatives when they start talking Bills/NFL.
  13. Mine too, and his music takes. Thanks for heads-up Ink.
  14. Everyone read Puck Daddy today right? I'm not familiar with Kevin Hayes' game. Better than Drew Stafford? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/kris-russell-hockey-culture-and-jimmy-vesey-puck-daddy-countdown-194641194.html "But if you’re buying billboards for the guy, or slotting him into your top six already, you’re only setting yourself up to be disappointed, regardless of whether he actually signs. The player you think he is and the player he actually is are not the same thing."
  15. Re-sign!?! Oof. I want shiny new toys.
  16. I'd like to see it go to O'Reilly now. I get it though, it won't. I think Gionta is a healthy scratch by mid-year, especially if Vesey signs and we are in the hunt for playoffs. Dude is 37! Old man Legwand is 1.5 years younger.
  17. All about the property taxes I'd guess. In WNY, $200k house = $8000 a year (~$4500 school, ~$2000 county, ~$1500 town/village). Whack that to $2500 and you have an extra $450 per month to put towards a mortgage. That's about $75k of house. Best of luck on the move. TN is hot. I've had 2, soon to be 4, friends from ROC make that move over last year or so. One got a gig in Nashville Symphony Orchestra. They are loving it down there.
  18. I do wonder what the price is. $1,000,000 per year? You'd think Terry would just bank it, "hockey heaven" and all that.
  19. Awesome that the shelf is high on the wall...he's gotta reach up to it. Great job BTP!
  20. Oh this too: "Unlike the NHL, which has seeding dependent strictly on points, the AHL will move to a points percentage system in an attempt to make up for the six fewer games played by the Californian clubs." But, as Eastern conference with no Cali teams, seems old-school points still works and this percentage nonsense (ok, intellectually sound, but frustrating as casual fan) is just noise.
  21. The points percentage seems to be overly complicating things. Then they have this funky page called "playoff primer" which colors us yellow "potential crossover playoff position" whatever that means. I simply see 6 points back with 12 games remaining. Need Utica, Portland, Hartford, Syracuse and St Johns to suck over the next few weeks. We play Syr 2x, Utica 1x, St John 1x. We finish with 2x @ Toronto, the first place team by a lot (46-15-5). Their top scorer is 3rd in entire league, Mr. TJ Brennan (23g,40a).
  22. Playoffs would be sweet. Still seems unlikely though.
  23. Eichel chugging Red Bull pre-game factors in here somewhere.
  24. For the record (and those that didn't see the game) before this becomes LucicMiller2, Neil never had another shift. I was surprised our D never showed up to step in though (unsure who was on ice). And agree re: call for suspension, complete piece of garbage play. TSN guy "Neil making sure Eichel knows he's gonna pay a price for going hard to the net". This, as he's on his knees, after the whistle, no where near the goaltender (never was) and defenseless. Too bad we don't get them again this year. Also TSN "Sabres continue their late season surge" as the game closed. Winning 4 of 10 is surge? They do look good though. Next year is gonna be awesome.
