  1. I haven't had a chance to look, but with the loss to Slovakia, is this a must-win for the US to make it to the medal round?
  2. A little help from WGR ...
  3. Canadians look good, though ...
  4. His left foot touches down as he's bringing the ball back from his outstretched hand into his bicep. The ball is clearly moving during this process. Right about the time he gets it locked into his bicep, the toes starts to come up off the grass. He keeps his right foot in bounds, crosses his left foot over it and touches again right at the edge of the line. It seems like it probably didn't touch green without also touching white on the second touch, which means it's a question of which happened sooner on the first touch: locking the ball in or his toes coming off the turf? In YouTube 0.25x speed with the best view of the two (https://youtu.be/y-mil0VvzCc at around 1:30), if I had to make my best guess, his shoe probably left the last blade of grass a split second before. If true, that would technically mean it was the correct call (i.e., the one the official originally should have made.) As others have said, though, that's not what replay is supposed to do. It was ruled a completion and was not obviously incomplete (again, even with slow motion, I'm still just guessing), so it should not have be overturned. Had it been ruled incomplete (out of bounds), then I would also say that it shouldn't have been overturned.
  5. 39th in Point/GP (for those with >=25 GP.)
  6. Yeah, you would end up with some weird looking thing like Price's ...
  7. Nope. Just a sister, Jessie.
  8. As did Risto, but both were on the road. So ...
  9. Hmmm ... your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your news letter.
  10. I was just going to say that we should change the title, so that nobody posts spoilers of TLJ before the rest of us have time to see it. I'll be lucky if I get to see it before we reach the new year.
  11. I don't know if there was more to this quote that wasn't included or if he said something similar later, but I remember hearing a longer version of it. He basically added (paraphrasing from memory), "I'm not putting us on their level; just that they don't know what conditions they'll see, but they still have to go out and execute. That's what we have to do. Execute" Not the best choice, but at least he clarified that he wasn't comparing what they do directly with what the military does.
  12. 31, I meant 31!
  13. Well, Jack missed my chance on that 2-on-1.
  14. It's been over 200 minutes since Okposo scored the Sabres' last goal. How much longer before the next one? I'll go with 21 minutes (note: 0 = start of 2nd period tonight.)
  15. I understand the emotion behind it, but since we can't buyout until the summer, it seems like this thread is a bit early. Wait until April or so, when we know who's left on the team.
  16. While they could easily be classified as "the worst" by other measures, through 26 games in 2013-14, the Sabres were 5-20-1 for 11 points. That team went on a 6-4-3 "run" after that, so this team will need to go 5-8-0 (or 4-7-2, etc) to not be passed. Sounds easy enough, but that a notably higher (0.77 vs. 0.42) points per game average than they've had so far.
  17. Goals?! I'd settle for a goal. ;)
  18. Hmmmm ... 2017-18 - ES: 0.280 / 0.360 / 0.640, PP: 0.000 / 0.040 / 0.040 2016-17 - ES: 0.230 / 0.311 / 0.541, PP: 0.164 / 0.230 / 0.393 2015-16 - ES: 0.198 / 0.235 / 0.423, PP: 0.099 / 0.160 / 0.259 (all sets are GPG / APG / PPG) Style/type aside, at even strength, he's actually producing more. On the power play, he's waaaaaay down. So, chicken or the egg? Is Jack producing less because the power play changed or does the power play suck because Jack changed?
  19. Right ... and also in here:
  20. But aren't you advocating for ...
  21. So ... is all red good or bad?
