    I don't know if there was more to this quote that wasn't included or if he said something similar later, but I remember hearing a longer version of it. He basically added (paraphrasing from memory), "I'm not putting us on their level; just that they don't know what conditions they'll see, but they still have to go out and execute. That's what we have to do. Execute" Not the best choice, but at least he clarified that he wasn't comparing what they do directly with what the military does.

    It's been over 200 minutes since Okposo scored the Sabres' last goal. How much longer before the next one? I'll go with 21 minutes (note: 0 = start of 2nd period tonight.)

    I understand the emotion behind it, but since we can't buyout until the summer, it seems like this thread is a bit early. Wait until April or so, when we know who's left on the team.

    While they could easily be classified as "the worst" by other measures, through 26 games in 2013-14, the Sabres were 5-20-1 for 11 points. That team went on a 6-4-3 "run" after that, so this team will need to go 5-8-0 (or 4-7-2, etc) to not be passed. Sounds easy enough, but that a notably higher (0.77 vs. 0.42) points per game average than they've had so far.

On the power play, he's waaaaaay down. So, chicken or the egg? Is Jack producing less because the power play changed or does the power play suck because Jack changed?

    People keep mentioning the dropped INT like it adversely affected the game, but that was a third down play, the Jets punted on 4th and the Bills scored a touchdown on the subsequent drive. So, it might have been a shorter drive, but the result couldn't have been any better than what it ended up being.

    Iwan Rheon is in Marvel: Inhumans on ABC. My wife was watching it and I happened to look up when he was on. Didn't see much of it, but seemed like he was a power-hungry prick in that, too.

    Great, another game (several, actually) in which I will likely wake up to see who won. Used to be able to stay up for them, but now my brain usually decides to shut down early in the first period.

    Real $'s are irrelevant. We have an owner who will write the checks, no matter what. The Sabres are cap-strapped, not $-strapped. O'Reilly is using $7.5M of the $75M that we are able to "spend" on players. The best measure of value would be points/%cap.
