Haha. I always thought it was from ASIB. Learn something new every day. Thanks for the correction.

Occam’s Razor may apply here.

The skill level today is awesome. The game has never been better.

It should be noted that AJ McCarron was cut by the Raiders today for all of those that were apocalyptic when he was moved last season.

Lol. What are you actually saying here? That they would have dropped out of hockey and fought in the streets? I don’t think this particular article alluded to it, but guys talk about how mentally hard it is to go onto the ice knowing they HAVE to start a fight with another human being. I think Andrew Peters talked about this. I always have this vision of Jason Bourne sitting in the corner asking what the other guy in the corner did before he shoots him. I know it’s fashionable to say tough guys just go out and hit other people on command, but in the absence of alcohol I don’t think that is very common.

Casey Nelson tells press he was behind play and didn’t see the head hit
SDS replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
For those that suggest this line of thought I would say that the fact that you know what exactly happened afterwords biases your opinion. It’s too easy to say that the situation prior pizza clear picture of what happened, because you know what happened. Maybe you guys know otherwise, but I am unaware of a situation where someone doesn’t know what’s going on and yet they race in and just start punching people. Remember he was the first one in, not the last. What has really served me well over the years is when I see someone do something unexpected, I immediately consider alternatives. Because if the obvious answer isn’t correct, then maybe the story isn’t as it appears. When I looked at Casey I saw someone who didn’t know what was going on. So instead of questioning his manhood like many fans did, I simply asked myself what were all the possibilities for why he didn’t engage. Once you allow yourself to think that way the first thing that came to mind was he clearly did not know the situation. I then looked for where he was on the ice and there he was - behind everyone with a poor view of the situation. -
A Star is Born was released November 1976. Singer/actress Barbara Streisand was hugely popular back then. She later became controversial for expressing her political views in concert. A Star is Born was recently remade and went on to receive many Oscar nominations.

Have you read any post-career accounts of those who fought all those years for our benefit? It isn’t pretty. https://www.google.com/amp/s/theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/no-ones-cheering-me-on-ex-nhl-enforcer-battles-substance-abuse-concussion-symptoms-on-the-streets-of-surrey/amp I’m perfectly fine leaving Thunderdome behind. These people don’t need to be punched in the face for me. Not that they actually do that anymore. As I have alluded to previously, it’s mostly jersey tugging and haymakers into the air.

Yes, we see them all because we get email and onscreen notifications when it happens. It really depends on the situation of an intervention is necessary.

Unfortunately, I am here right now but I am leaving tonight.

This is a perfect example of how out of touch a segment of hockey fans are... 1. “Sports”. Fighting is near non-existent in every sport except hockey. I have no idea what sports you are watching. Unless the existence of a single fight makes it “a thing” to you. Which doesn’t make it true. 2. In 2003-2004 there was a fighting major given in 2 out of every 3 games. It is now 1 out of every 5. It’s already going away. Yesterday is gone. https://www.hockeyfights.com/stats 3. There are no enforcers left in the NHL. None. 4. To anyone periodically emerging from the cave, it is clear it is being coached out of the game at every level. Coaches no longer want to deal with highly skilled teams getting 5 minutes of PP time and the skill guys want to play hockey anyway, not tug on a jersey like a teenage boy. 5. According to the link above, the Buffalo Sabres are 16th in the league in fights. Fighting is nearly gone from the NHL. The decrease in fights per game go down every year and it shows no signs of abating.

I’m sorry for your loss. RIP 1976. Mem'ries light the corners of my mind Misty water-colored mem'ries of the way we were Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were Can it be that it was all so simple then Or has time rewritten every line If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we, could we Mem'ries may be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply choose to forget So it's the laughter we will remember Whenever we remember the way we were The way we were

Lol. That was one of the most ridiculous things I ever saw. You actually like that? Two grown men yanking on each other‘s jerseys as they throw 50 punches of which two may have landed on a body part? That’s a battle? ? Rocky had more real fighting in it than that did. Faux fighting. Yay.

I will beat this drum until the day I die or until I change my mind… My caring about the final score will never actually change the final score. It is out of my sphere of influence. If I can’t affect the score then incessantly complaining about it is wasted energy. It is taking something that should be a positive and turning it into a negative. The world has enough negative. That’s why entertainment is my metric. If they are entertaining I will watch. If they are not entertaining, like they haven’t been in past recent years, I don’t watch. It’s been 49 years and not a single Stanley Cup. Who is better off – a person who ***** every single season that they didn’t win the Stanley Cup or the person who watches the games and enjoys the entertainment value? I will enjoy a winning season and a Stanley Cup as much as the next person. I just don’t let someone else losing a game, while making millions of $$$, negatively affect my day. I’ll end with this golden oldie: God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference.
-
If winning is your only concern then you made the right choice and saved some money. However, if the final score is not the only thing you care about then you missed a lot of entertaining hockey games this year.
-
It’s your fault for thinking that deal was made with this season in mind.
-
No offense, but the premise is silly. Whether I root for the team or against the team it doesn’t affect their play one iota. Neither does any of the venom spewed their way at the office or here. They finish where they finish. I hope to see some entertaining hockey like I have most of the year, the Avs game notwithstanding.

God Bless you... you help keep me sane.

Casey Nelson tells press he was behind play and didn’t see the head hit
SDS replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
To say it isn’t plausible that Nelson perhaps didn’t get a clear look of what happened, particularly when the egregious behavior was with the far left arm, is just not credible. -

Curious if you looked at attachment two I included in the original post. It literally shows both Z and another skater in front of Nelson (and it would have been worse a fraction of a second earlier, since Nelson was even more behind both of them. It's odd that there is actual tangible evidence he was screened and you would prefer to think there is a mystery angle that shows something contrary. I do appreciate you at least addressing my original point though.
