Whatever the details were, I'm just pointing out that another team has charged admission to the event before us - which isn't what some are saying in this thread. Perhaps we are doing it differently, but it hasn't been totally free, for every seat, in every draft prior to 2016.

Wasn't it pointed out Florida did charge $75 for select seats?

The only way to prevent this is social media outrage towards the individual advertisers themselves. Unflattering memes might make them think twice, but the fans would have to have the stamina of Forest Gump going for a run.

Again, I'm going to say that this is overstated. What is much more carefully? Do you think they are going to stay two or three strides away? That's silly… They have amazing body control. They just won't cut it this close so often.

Clearly I can't argue it speeds the game up but no I don't believe it would have any visible affect on the perceived speed of the game.

That's probably a little melodramatic. I don't like how the rule is implemented. I don't like the call that just happened. But in theory I don't have any issue with egregious offsides being challenged. I offered my solution. If you have to use slow-motion then the call stands.

I think the players will ultimately adjust their game. They won't be riding the razors edge trying to time the zone entry. They will hold up a half step to avoid this in the future.

Offsides should only be reviewed at full speed. If you can't determine if it's offsides at full speed then it's too close to call.

I predict outrage now and quick acceptance in the future…

You probably don't have the population density for it to matter locally to you. But here in Maryland where they put up new communities and put them on well water it is a really, really big issue.

Depends where you get your water from. Rivers and reservoirs are readily replaced unless there is drought. Pumping water from a deep well is much more problematic. That water could have been there for 1000s of years. So, here in Maryland, in particular Howard county, I can throw all of my recycling into one ginormous blue bin that's the size of a very large trash can. In fact it is bigger than my trash cans. I don't need to separate anything and from what I can tell they take most items that other recycling centers do not. That makes it pretty mindless to recycle as much as we can. We even have weekly lawn and landscaping clippings pick up. They mulch that stuff up and make a really nice compost soil that residents can buy back.

I'll probably make another thread at some point making the same observation, but I love GMTM. I could listen to him talk all day. For me, he's by far the most interesting sports personality to listen to. For a person who doesn't actually play, he adds to my entertainment substantially - and not in the Rex Ryan circus way. Thank you Patty. I love that he is our GM right now.

My bags are always in the trunk of my car. When I'm done unloading in the house, I hang the empty ones on the door knob. I eventually take them out. The problem is I shop mainly at Giant by my house and they have no such reminders. :(

So, as my life marches forward and I think about my kids and what world they will have to adapt to when eventually the oil runs out, the oceans are overflowing with plastic, etc... I try to do things that are probably more symbolic on the individual level, but perhaps be meaningful if adopted culturally. I would like to hear what anyone else does. 1. Bringing my own water jug keeps me from paying for water and using the plastic. 2. I carpool to soccer games whenever possible keeping another car off the road when we are all going to the same places. 3. We recycle more material than we throw away. Our county has an awesome program, so that is easy for us. But our recycle bins fill faster than our garbage bins. 5. I refuse plastic bags whenever possible (and use reusable ones when grocery shopping). 6. AC is set to about 80 in the summer. Heat is at 68 in the winter. Programmable thermostat runs a weekly program. I would love to see a society that carries their own drinking cup and utensils. So much single use waste that is unnecessary. What do you do?
