  1. Past hour
  2. I dialed it. I had to. I was hoping for something, but nope. The number is not in service.
  3. I’m not a Cozens fan. He will never improve his hockey IQ. The takeaway is though that Cozens had value around the league and Adams turned that into a major red flag with a higher salary and threw. 2nd round pick in to boot.
  4. If he makes it 10 games after his return I will be flabbergasted.
  5. Shameful
  6. Interesting comments Taro. The only players the US Olympic Team decided on are Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy, Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, and Matthew Tkachuk. The rest is decided in January. Matt Tkachuk is out until late December, maybe longer. Olympics start Feb 5th. Tuch and Thompson should be going hard because what they do now really counts. With injuries there could be surprises. With Zito helping select players I think that players that are gritty and tough will be prioritized, after skill of course. Tuch was dinged up in camp, he might be nursing something. He also can be streaky and break out at anytime. Moving Tuch up with Thompson and Benson will help him get going. I hope that line sticks for awhile and all three get going.
  7. Does any of it matter anymore? There's no end in sight.
  8. I haven't watched the games live, but I did watch them on replay, so take this for what you will...just my opinion. I think through 3 games Tuch is playing like he normally does, with ONE exception. He's staying away from the net on the offensive zone. Everything I saw when watching him, his skating, his forcheck, seems the same...the one thing that stood out is he is just keeping to the perimeter on the offensive zone a lot more than he did last year. He doesn't have many shots yet, but if you look at a heat map of where he has taken them from, it backs this up.
  9. I'm not sure why people still think Cozen is good. Even some of the people in Ottawa (some, not all) are starting to think he's not as good as they hoped. I posted this in a thread the other day, but since he got to Ottawa, he's played 30 games, has 7 goals and 13 assists and is a -10(including playoffs, not preseason of course). Thats an 82 game pace of 19 goals, 35 assists, and a -27. Yes, a -27 on a team that made the playoffs last year. And I'm not sure what the numbers look like this year, but some of his deeper dive analytics....the guys he played with in Ottawa last year had their numbres get worse after Cozens started playing with them. Batherson is the guy that they put with Cozens the most. Batherson's Corsi% is down 4 whole percentage points with Cozens vs without him. Fenwick down almost 5 points. Shots down 3, expected goals down 8! Scoring chances down 5, High danger down 3. Maybe tomorrow Cozens will have a good game. Maybe after tomorrow he will turn the corner and become a good player. But right now he is a bad player. Teammates get WORSE when he is with them vs when they are with anyone else. There are plenty of things to criticize the Sabres for that are legit. Some people just don't do the work.
  10. That 2011 year is the year he took over the team. Tehcnically he was owner during those playoffs, but he came on board that season when the coaching staff, roster, everyting was set before he bought them. He had very little if any input to any part of that team. Once he started having input and makign decisions, that is when the drought started. Since his first full season where he actually started making decisions, that is when they haven't made the playoffs since. So the team hasn't played a full season that he has been in controll and made the playoffs.
  11. You made my day. Dick Bauerle wrote the song, looks like him on guitar. He had a recording studio in Kenmore. Teddy Reinhard opened the song on drums. One of the best drummers I've ever seen anywhere. His brother Tommy played bass on the song. They both starred in the Jazz Fusion band Gamalon and played with numerous great musicians for decades in Buffalo. They are in the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. I lived in their neighborhood. Their parents owned a florist shop in the Town of Tonawanda, still there and still family run. Thanks for the memories! That was Ed Kilgore a local sportscaster, channel 4, I think (?) As for the Sabres - Housley with some air guitar. I also recognize Larry Playfair, Scott Arniel, Mike Ramsey, Dave Andreychuck, and Mike Filigno. Probably some others .... Loved It!
  12. Yesterday
  13. The Mets owner did just a couple weeks ago
  14. Charlie Jacobs did last year. The owner of the Bruins, ironically a guy from Buffalo, sent a letter to the Bruins fans. https://www.facebook.com/NHLBruins/posts/a-message-from-nhlbruins-ceo-charlie-jacobs/1147449590729769/ Not sure this is an apology exactly, but it was a sincere effort to let their fans know that missing the playoffs one time in over 20 years was unsatisfactory. In addition, after the Bruins were booed at a home game the coach said their fans were right to boo and the team deserved it. Their Captain, Marchand, said the same thing. Quite the contrast from the Sabres players, coach Granato, and Captain Okposo, when this happened in Buffalo. Culture is not a throw away word in Boston.
  15. No issues with AOL 2.0 here.
  16. Stu Boyar!
  17. I guess β€œI can’t see Adams being brought back” read to me as more of a prediction than an opinion of what you would do
  18. Logically, there is no reason to bring him back. BUT there was logically no reason to bring him back this season, and it still happened. Logically, there was no way Granato's entire staff should've been employed after he was out of a job. BUT none of them got canned. Dropped the word "logically" from that 1st sentence. Thought it was implied. Guess not. (Though it was unwritten, it seems you didn't read it. πŸ˜‰ )
  19. The White Sox owner after the 2024 baseball season.
  20. Love Ed Kilgore's 'hair"!
  21. I’m talking about making the playoffs. The goal needs to be playoffs year 1
  22. Has any North American sports team owner or exec ever apologized for having a bad team? I think you are looking for answers where there ain’t none.
  23. We don't have much skilled forwards. That will take years to rectify. We do have a decent defense but also subpar goaltending.
  24. To be TRUE contenders without having locked in goaltending would take 3-4 years from here. Lock in GTing and you can accelerate that timeline. But to just get back to relevance. It could actually happen THIS season, if somebody that knew what they were doing was in charge. (Not likely, but it's possible.) And they definitely should be able to be relevant next season in an absolute worst case. This roster ISN'T bad. But, it isn't coached well at all. Get a legit GM and get a legit coaching staff and go from there.
  25. I don't care what his face looks like, he's beat the hell out of McDermott and KC several times without a good QB. Maye is legit and NE has competent coaching. The division is not a freebee anymore.
  26. The Sabres don't have a Huberdeau to go get a Tkachuk. Maybe Cozens could have fetched more if they'd have waited until the draft/offseason. And they definitely don't have a Barkov or Bobrovsky in-house already.
