  2. Look at the plan with Spectrum where they let you pick 10 channels. You get all the basics (the local channels and some basic cable stuff) and then you get to 'choose' 15 other premium channels. MSG is one of the choices so you can get Sabres games. I think its called "Spectrum choice" Last year, it was the absolute cheapest way for us to get the Sabres games. I know its bout $40-$50 less per month than their 'regular' plan.
  3. Now if they could just help with getting the shot counter at the rink to be accurate, that'd be great. Expecting that's an issue to be resolved another day.
  4. We have DTv and the streaming package is included with it. Have used it fairly often when away from home to watch games and haven't had any issues with it. There doesn't seem to be an ability to watch DVR'd stuff, but have never looked for that capability when using the DTv+. So, it might be there with the regular DTv when streaming and would be mildly surprised if it isn't available for the pure streaming service.
  5. Fubo here too (they carry MSG) was least expensive option for what I needed. I made the switch from Spectrum last Sabres season. I was able to cancel Hulu as well. I only use Spectrum now as internet service provider. I have been happy with Fubo, including DVR/Recording. The only issue is when games are on TNT (currently not an option on FUBO). When there are TNT games I turn to the interwebs and find a "stream." I also supplement with RokuTV with lots of great content. Amazon Prime Video for movies (since we have Prime regardless). Then I occasionally on a monthly basis add on/off HBO/MAX (did it for Hard Knocks) or Netflix based on what's streaming month to month, but I try to keep all my subscriptions to a minimum then rotate a monthly perk service (MAX/Netflix) if I want to treat myself.
  6. Today
  7. They are still soft as charmin. Need to move out Power, Quinn, Samuelsson and Bryson. You can’t have players who avoid all forms of contact.
  8. Betting on who he believed in isn’t the chief reason for failure*, but rather something that became an anchor after a failure to surround said bets with the proper support and more immediate expectation. *neither in strategy, nor even largely execution, I’d argue, with a couple notable exceptions perhaps
  9. For sure. This is exactly the discussion NHL front offices were having prior to the 2021 draft about Lane Hutson. They’ll all get ***** because they were wrong about Hutson and won’t hear about the six other small offensive defencemen who failed. Im generally a big fan on betting on people you believe in. But it’s also one of the biggest reasons why Adams has failed.
  10. I used Fubo last season and just renewed got 5 months for 35$ off a month (so it's about 66$ monthly for first 5 months) With the added bonus that if the season is over in 5 months I can easily cancel it.
  11. I think the distinction for me is that everything you say can be, and likely is true and yet also, I’d wager, merely the requirement for the lion’s share of prospects to carve out a mainstay career in general. The 6’4 guy in net needs that. The 5’10 goalie needs that, and a prodigious development curve to achieve the (relative) “ordinary” success. Add in what might be expected and or hoped of the Star Wars kid, rightly or wrongly (wrongly) because of who we dealt for him, and let’s just say..again, I’ll just reiterate it’s an uphill battle. In reality and I’d argue perception as well.
  12. So, preseason squad 1 has all of the borderline F's (lines 3 - 5 and likely 6 but possibly 7 by ice time) and preseason squad 2 has all of the borderline D (pairings 3-5). Interesting. Also interesting that Rosen was the odd man out from the AHL scoring line with the other unit.
  13. My confidence in Levi is rooted mostly in watching him play and observing his approach and demeanour off the ice. That level of natural ability combined with that level of confidence and that level of dedication to craft almost always finds a way.
  14. And I’ll quote your posts and give you kudos like I always do when and if that happens. I won’t forget, I’d be exceptionally happy to do it. It won’t be the first time nor the last that you dial in on something I totally miss. My modus operandi is rooted in consistency and pattern, not accuracy
  15. Devon Levi will make you happy to be proven wrong. Well, if he’s still a Sabre when it happens, that is. 😁
  16. May I add.... When an average NHL goalie is your best option in net year after year after year for a team desperate to make the playoffs since Ryan Miller, Is one of the numerous ways the GM has failed the organization.
  17. The history of the nhl is a short goalies can’t play guy. It’s not that he can’t be one of the rare exceptions that prove the rule, but refusing to state outright that he’s facing far more of an uphill battle than others who have come before him and posted good numbers in lower leagues when shooters can’t expose weaknesses is foolish It is unlikely Levi becomes a very good nhl goalie - that’s just the reality. Will be awesome if he proves, I won’t say me wrong, if he proves the logical stance wrong
  18. You’re a short goalies can’t play guy?
  19. How many seasons for Ullmark to reach 6’4?
  20. You’re correct. I forgot about his first year pro over here. Still took him until his 4th year before he arrived as an NHL full-timer and his 7th before he played 40 games. Levi has played 2 pro seasons. Goalies take time.
  21. For what it's worth, I thought that when Johnson played a bunch of games with the Sabres a couple of seasons ago, he looked pretty decent, especially for young, inexperienced player. I have not watched him play in Rochester, nor do I have any insight on training camp, but from what I saw, he looked like a player with a promising future. From the handful of games Rosen has played in Buffalo in the last couple of seasons, he's shown nothing. He's been good at the AHL level, but he may be one of those guys that is simply not destined for a NHL career. I'd love to see him break out this season, but I haven't seen anything yet that would indicate future success at the NHL level.
  22. Why does it seem that most teams have TWO goalies that can play starter level most of the time? I mean, how is Buffalo ever going to make a push if they don't even have one they can rely on. Maybe it is just because Buffalo is so inept that they continually make back-up goalies look superior year after year. Can you imagine how bad their record would have been if they constantly played against the starters?
  23. Haha...no NFL regular season 😂 NFL pre-season isn't even watchable most times
  24. Wolf couldn't even make it into either of Calgary's two split squad games yesterday. Lazy bum clearly was a one-season wonder.
  25. Anyone currently using one of the streaming services(Fubo, YouTube, DirectTV, etc…)? Interested in your experience. I am considering DirectTV streaming service. Two year commitment with taxes $110 a month(price locked in for 24 months) including Disney+ bundle(with Hulu & ESPN) which we currently pay for. Current Spectrum cost…$185, just for TV….and they won’t budge even a nickel.
  26. What's Dustin Wolf up to? Asking for no reason, what so ever to do with this conversation.
