  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe they'll get an Uncle Terry Pep Talkβ„’ during the Bills bye week.
  3. Sadly, doubt anyone even told Pegula the Sabres were playing today. He is certainly down in ATL getting ready for "a Monday night party." They need to stop playing the same day the Bills play if we're ever going to get any traction.
  4. Fire Ruff and the other clowns on the bench, go get DeBoer or Gallant. Do whatever it takes to get an established coach with a strong resume. No more promoting from within or mediocre retreads. Hell, get Boudreau. He may not be a long term answer but he has a track record of quick turnaround and can start moving things in the right direction.
  5. How can it be any more worse than it is now? The Sabres have the worst GM in the history of the NHL, and the owner doesn't seem to give a F. All this results in the most boring, uninspiring hockey that any fanbase has been subjected to. So, you know, good times
  6. You mean the guy who scored today but not in the other three previous games? Oh yeah I guess I need to forget that he basically was absent those games. Maybe he should have said it differently but I took it as the media and the fans need to forget that the Sabres haven’t had a winning season for 14 years (six of which he was on the team for) has because it may bring him down.
  7. I feel like a Broken record airing my Adams grievances, but give me a break; it's cathartic. 1) His entire plan since he took over was to build through the draft. Problem with that is 18 year old kids take several years to develop and inherently a good chunk of those picks are going to top out at AHL or JAG level. This is a foolish plan. 2) He blew a pretty decent opportunity to ride some momentum in the summer of 2023. The 22/23 Sabres finished very strong and most of our young core had really good/breakout seasons. We needed a couple of more good vets and a goalie and MAYBE they get over the playoff hump in 2024. Instead, Kevyn put all of his eggs in the Levi/UPL basket and his big additions to the roster were Connor Clifton, Erik Johnson, and Comrie. The young guys regress almost across the board, Levi isn't ready, the new additions add almost nothing. Again, his entire strategy is built around the younger guys getting better. They didn't. This was a huge missed opportunity. 3) 2023/24 goes tits up and his idea of getting a retread coach who has been a mixed bag the previous decade because...he was good here 15 years ago? Then he saddles the coach with mostly the same giggle ***** assistants the previous guy had. Oh, and brought up the AHL coach. 4) Late in the 2024 season, one of the supposed building blocks has regressed badly but still should have promise to another team. He trades him for...a guy that can't stay healthy to save his life. That guy plays 3 whole games and gets hurt AGAIN. 5) Summer 2025, same *****. Doesn't make any significant moves, just runs it back in the desperate hope the core gets better, trades away one of our best young goal scorers, and hangs his hopes that his fragile center he traded for can finally stay healthy. He gets hurt before the first game is over. Kevyn Adams is arguably the worst GM in sports. The proof is in the pudding. This team is poorly coached, lacks talent, and is going nowhere. I'm sorry, but it is hopeless until they get some real hockey people in here to fix this mess.
  8. I'm not opposed to grit, just don't be a liability.
  9. At least he won’t have to worry about any big games here
  10. Penn St. Terry may bring in James Franklin as an advisor.
  11. Today
  12. Pleasantly surprised by Bryson today. He was in the right spot often today and broke up several plays; he still had issues getting the puck to a teammate, but he was not an issue today from the eye test. Thought Johnson played pretty well too. Really liking the effort Doan brings. And was absolutely shocked, but Quinn tangled with an Av near the Avs net in the 2nd and actually got the better of the Av. Heck, the Av's helmet got knocked off somehow. Really disliked the call on Dahlin for the 1st interference call on him. Htf do you "interfere" with the puck carrier? Pretty sure that's officially known as a "check" which, last we checked, was still legal. Also, not surprised Tuch got called for embellishment. Live it looked like he took a serious dive; but watching on replay it looked like the Av didn't just get his stick in his legs but also got his hip into him and the combination of both seemed to be why he got knocked down so "easily." But they still are wasting some incredible goaltending by Lyon. We got the version that Detroit THOGUHT they were getting when they signed him to that multiyear contract. Maybe they can start scoring more than just one on Wednesday. The Otters are another bad team like Buffalo. Should be a good game. (Of course, expected that to be the case against the Rags too.)
  13. I don’t recall a single individual ever taking ownership for our playoff drought. I don’t care that it’s not on anyone in particular. Leaders take responsibility, even for things out of their control.
  14. It would have certainly been noticed if we had done the same. Additionally I wonder if Dahlin and Thompson are unsciously trying to force Pegula to fire Adams. I mean if we are brutal about his performance than what about other players on other teams that our guys are friends with outside the team?
  15. Don't know what's up with Thompson, but it LOOKS like he's intentionally trying to get somebody fired. Didn't get back to the car in time to hear his interview and GR's discussing it made it sound like he still is trying and expects things can get turned around. But just everything he does just seems off. Even that goal he scored was simply throwing it towards the net; it wasn't a shot he expected to have work. Most all his shots are going into the goalie's crest, unless he's shooting at an open net and then it's going wide or over the net. His passes are off, he's taking an extra half second to get shots off. Tuch doesn't seem right either. Realize the 2 of them combined with Dahlin to score the goal, but Dahlin's the only 1 of the 3 that has looked pretty much like himself so far. And he had that horrific pass to Nikushin that set Makar up for the winner which totally changed the flow of the game. Until that play, the Sabres were getting the best of the play and seemed like they'd actually get a lead sometime in that 2nd period if they could just keep it up.
  16. Wonder if getting a 5 on 3 and having about 45 seconds of PP to start the 2nd would've been enough to get the PP off the schneid. When Malinski threw the puck over the glass, it should've been a penalty. The puck was well over the glass and was going to land in the crowd until Kelly reached over the glass and knocked the puck back into the bench area with his stick. Have NEVER seen that happen before. The puck literally was on its way to landing 2-3 rows behind the Avs bench and the guy just plucked it out of the air and back into "no harm, no foul" land. Incredibly quick thinking, but astounded that not one of the officials on the ice saw what happened.
  17. Hmm. Now weren't you one who liked my post about a player seemingly owning the drought? How can one own the drought without looking back? I think @darksabreis onto something. Tage probably isn't too concerned about winning in the present. He is the CEO of own little entity, and he's about maximizing income most of all. If that's true, he surely doesn't care about the last 14 years. Shame. They have a great motivating issue to rally around. And it's so achievable. Do these guys look hell bent on being a playoff team? 0-3 isn't the end of the world, as Tage said. How they looked doing it is pretty apocalyptic.
  18. Yes. One broke out with about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd and another broke out in the last minute of the game.
  19. Now those wouldn't be Chet and Muffy's son, daughter in law and grandkids, would they?
  20. When that other guy plays, he is better than Cozens. When that other guy doesn't play, the question becomes is Cozens better than the guy that replaces that other guy? Its not really 'one' guy replacing Norris, as the minutes are split up. You could say Kulich moves up the lineup, and at this point I'd take Kulich over Cozens as he makes far less mistakes. If you go by the theory of the minutes are split, I'd still take 1/3 McLeod (despite him playing awful the first 3 games), 1/3 Kulich, and 1/3 whoever else. That combo doesn't bring that much less offense than Cozens did the last few years, but they still make a ton less mistakes. I don't know if we have short memories or not, but Dylan Cozens in some cases single handedly ruined games for the team with blind passes, turnovers, and mostly being totally out of position allowing goals in close games for the Sabres last year that they lost by 1 or 2. Cozens needed to go, he wasn't going to contribute here. If he turns it around in Ottawa, good for him (by the way, he's not turning it around yet in Ottawa. He's played 30 games there now, 7 goals, 13 assists, and a -10...and 82 game pace of 19 goals, 35 assists and a staggering but famaliar -27 on an Ottawa team that has been better than Buffalo) In other words, he is still who he has been. The real question is, should the Sabres have taken 'futures' for Cozens instead of Norris? A mid-to-late 1st rounder and/or a prospect?
