I say no to trading Quinn for Marchment. I believe that Quinn will come into camp healthy and stronger. And I strongly believe that he has enough experience now to get a return on his offensive talents. I also have the same approach to Kulich and Power. I'm tired of seeing our traded young players producing at a high level for other teams. The Sabres still have plenty of other assets to parlay, such as Byram, prospects and picks. Let's stop making the same mistake over and over, watching other teams benefit while we continue to churn in place. The idea of trading for Marchment, a player we will only have one year of control of, while giving up a good young player with a lot more upside makes no sense to me. Put me in the steadfast no category on your proposed deal.

Not that it's here nor there, but the game in Buffalo is actually the 2nd game of the series. The 1st game is 2 days before in Cleveland. Then the series final 2 games are in Canada.

I wouldn't buy anything in advance. They'll be giving the tix away closer to the event. In the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, ticket prices were pretty jacked up. Undaunted, my friend dropped close to $1000 to take his family of 5 to a Canada game as soon as they were released. He was "lucky" to get those seats, as speculators grabbed the lion's share of them all. Anyhow, as the event went on, it became clear that the speculators overplayed their hand. For the final round robin game, I scooped two seats for $25 each. Long story short, with few if any NHL stars playing, you should easily be able to grab seats at a major discount closer to the actual game.

Per capwages he has a 10-team no trade list. That's 1/3 of the league which means Buffalo is likely on it. If you can convince him to waive the NTC... RFA Quinn with 2 years of control for 1 year of Marchment? Who says no? And if no, what pick(s) balance it out. Dallas gets a kid who can score and has untapped potential and might just pop with another year clear from his injuries and the "no longer in Buffalo" issues; Buffalo gets a another Zucker/Greenway experienced guy. Overpaid, but fully capable of 20 goals and being a punk. He also plays on the edge of safe and will likely get suspended for a couple games, which frankly, this team could use one guy like that.

Any discussion on Rossi and the Sabres, should include a discussion on who he would replace at centre. Norris makes little sense. While there are question marks on the durability of Norris, the concept of his two-way game means Rossi is not an upgrade. McLeod also makes no sense. McLeod is the ideal 3C who can play up in the line-up, kill penalties and match-up with the opposition’s top line. Kulich…is where Rossi is an upgrade (maybe). Rossi is 31 months older than Kulich, and is coming off a 60 point season, and is the playmaking centre the Sabres don’t have. Rossi (assuming he has another level of offence to come), Norris (healthy), McLeod, and Krebs, could be a pretty solid centre spine. Still real young though. I wonder about a Peterka/Kulich for Rossi/Ohgren trade. I think Minny would need to add. It doesn’t help in the grit or experience categories. I think I would pass on my own idea.

With next year being an Olympic year, I don't foresee many players going to this.

All these different fan bases thinking JJ Peterka isn't worth what he's worth is maddening. I've seen some of the worst trade speculation ever. It's all due to Adams being a goof.
