  1. Past hour
  2. Interesting to hear Marty Biron talking about how Topias Leinonen has caught his eye. He didn’t go as far as to say he’s high on him, but he was raving about his elite size and his ability to fill the net. Says he’s looking forward to to watching how he does in Rochester this year. Leinonen fascinates me because I have never seen a 2nd-round pick dismissed as quickly as he was. In terms of goalie development curves, Rochester backup is pretty much where he should be right now. Nobody is convinced yet however, that he belongs there. His progress this year will be one of the more fascinating prospect stories to follow.
  3. Today
  4. He was only given fourth line minutes and he wasn’t producing.. with 4th line deployment. He went to the A and scored a plenty. Wouldn’t be concerned there
  5. Tedeschi Trucks Band this Friday Aug 1st and Saturday Aug 2nd at Red Rocks. One of my favorite weekends of the year.
  6. Pretty sure Pegula and Adams like him. Lindy probably likes him as a person too. But being a good guy and allegedly good at development coaching doesn't mean he's remotely competent to be an NHL assistant. And there was a report here from our usual breaker of all news Sabres that the Sabres did make an offer to a coach to take over Wilford's role but were rebuffed by the guy they made the offer to. Would like to have seen them then reach out to a plan B, plan C, or plan D guy at that point. But, again, somebody likes HIM, not necessarily the results he gets. And maybe this is the year he finally understands that being ok with 2 D going behind the net, leaving the C to try to cover 2 guys in the slot or having your D let a guy simply stand in front of your goalie without trying to move him away, or being OK with the D not recognizing that a player is by himself in the low slot a mere tick-tack pass away from toeing it into the open net are not good things and that he can actively teach against doing that and actually reduce guys ice time when they do those sorts of things. He also can get on the nuts of F's that stand around lost in their own end. (Whether they report to him in that end or not; doesn't matter, get their heads out of their bippies. He's in charge of the play in that zone. This is not Don Granato's Sabres team anymore. Somebody should let Marty know.)
  7. I didn't ask you to buy a ticket. What do you want me to do with your humor? 🤣
  8. Thank God you added the paranthetical.
  9. -Happy Gilmore. It was entertaining, but thats it to me. Not bad, but not good. Just a decnent way to kill an evening with a few laughs. -Fantastic Four. To me, good, but not great. I was really waiting to be surprised on some way, to have something that, I don't know...meant a lot to me in a way I didn't think (if that makes sense). It was executed pretty well, but one of the most predictable and least surprising movies I've seen in a while. And the actress who played the lead roll, scale back on the fake eyelashes....they were so bad that everytime they showed a closeup of her, I couldn't stop seeing them instead of anything else in the movie. -Superman. I though the plot of the movie was just OK, but there was one reason I really enjoyed it alot. They got the Superman character right. He's a nice guy, he wants to help everyone. No brooding superman, no doubting himself. no rolling his eyes. Just he's a superhero who cares for others and is a really nice guy and that is what I loved about it.
  10. Do you expect Zach Benson to be a 30-point scorer this season? Do you ever see him developing into a scorer? If so, when and how good?
  11. Isn’t it acceptable to slap someone with a dirty glove if their face is already dirty?
  12. The Sabres will be moving their games to old Highmark (Rich Stadium) since the Bills won’t be using it after this upcoming season. (Kidding of course)
  13. Absolutely, John. Face slaps depend on proper decorum.
  14. This is one of hardest lineups to slot in a while. We know who 8 of the top 9 forwards are with Doan and Greenway fighting for the 9th slot. The problem is we have almost no game film on who Norris fits with. We also have a ton of “scorers” with very limited proven playmakers except Tuch to match them with. Add Kulich’s limited experience and you have a ton of possibilities without many reference points. I can see an argument for Kulich starting the year as the center on any of the top 3 lines. The only thing that’s certain is Tage on the top line. After that, It’s going to come down to who plays well with whom in camp. The defense, besides Dahlin, only seems more settled, but isn’t. The key is going to be who Kesselring shows chemistry with. I don’t think Kesselring with Power is a given. What happens if he meshes with Byram and not Power. Does Power play with Dahlin or do they try Samuelsson with Dalhousie again. If I had to guess Tage Kulich Tuch Zucker Norris Quinn Benson McLeod Doan Danforth Krebs Greenway Dahlin Power Byram Kesselring Samuelsson Timmins UPL Lyons
  15. I see some similarities this past season to Timo Meir or however you spelling freaks will call me out on it lol. He has power forward type of size/ traits and just started throwing the body around from what I read this past season in particular. If that’s the case we just got exactly what many of us have been clamoring for in quite some time.
  16. If Wilford is such a bad coach, then why does Lindy keep him on the staff? Is he being forced to keep him on or is he simply satisfied with how he coaches?
  17. Is it unacceptable to slap someone with dirty gloves?
  18. I’d line them up against a wall and give them each a face slap with freshly laundered white gloves.
  19. Nah, they’re gonna raze KBC and Pegula will insist on an open-air hockey arena.
  20. Those corporate abusers have been and continue to be well documented over the years. And all those regulations, instigated by an activist and caring population and a media that cared about their public trust responsibilities, were on the books to keep them accountable. But they are the among GOP’s largest donors (thanks Citizens United) and this corrupt administration knows where their bread is buttered. Trump literally offered oil companies roll backs in pollution regulations and unlimited drilling on federal lands in exchange for $1b in donations to his campaign and they are just keeping their promises to the big polluters.
  21. I hope this also would include a massive renovation to update the building
  22. The Sabres will move games to the Northtown Center at Amherst before Pegula spends another dime on the team.
  23. Sending him to Rochester now to become a more finished product makes no sense. What you refuse to acknowledge is that he was an effective player for us last year. He certainly wasn’t a complete player due to his youth and his incomplete physical development, but he was not a liability when he played. If you made the argument that he was playing on a line that was too high, I would consider it a reasonable position to take. But your position that he should be sent to a lower league is off to me.
  24. My guess is they'll announce Pegula is buying the stadium with some degree of KeyBank involvement
