Most people don’t expect Adams to make a big move because Adams. But there is no shortage of Sabre names in the rumour mill. This thread is a place where we can discuss some of them, what similar assets have been traded for in the past, and what we might expect in return. To me, Byram is clearly on the table, as is pick #9 and any of our pipeline players. I think we also have to consider the possibility of Tuch and Peterka being moved due to their value and contract situations. And I think Quinn, Samuelsson and UPL could be had due to last year’s poor play and the need to upgrade their roster spots.

This is it. I don't really care about anything else but every year my playoff pleasure comes with annual Leaf whining and I want that to continue.

It's impossible to say though. Sometimes these (for lack of a better word) poor kids have a great work ethic and they are grateful and maybe have a chip on their shoulder but sometimes the bright lights big city also goes to their heads. You see this with some of the Russians for example. It's really impossible to say how it goes. Character is character and that's why you need scouts to go see them and talk with them and people around them and not just rely on video and analytics.

Benson, Kulick, Quinn and JJP all babies still. Best years ahead of them, but growing pains still ahead. Watching Florida and Carolina play you see how their forwards are defense first and then make the big plays in key moments. Have to work towards that. Hopefully they take a step forward next year to at least end the draught

The key is as a whole to me... as a whole they are lazy uninspired weak cowardly underachieving self centered losers that are better suited to the ice capades.

Is pulock available? If so, great. Cannot always be opposed to a player aged 29-32 with term. Winning teams have them. Avoiding them is overly risky adverse imo

I think they are a bit overrated. Our top line is a descent scoring second. We lack a versatile top line that can adequately score and play two way hockey. From my perspective, minutes deserved, we have a second line, 2 third lines and a mediocre fourth line. This team is far from being competitive.

Some good players at forward. Very still young overall. A lot of similar style players and most of them lack a two-way game. They need another top 6 veteran, not sold on Norris due to health reasons but a good and healthy season from him would be a pleasant surprise. They need better play from the bottom 6 in the line up. Some true shut down players. Last off-seasons the 4th line remake was not a success. Get a guy that will punch the lights out of people and can play 4th line minutes.

Some excellent ideas here. Pulock is a guy we need but not at 5 X $6.1M for a 30 year old. Muel was supposed to be like this guy, but he has not been as we all know. Which is why you don't give big contracts to guys with 57 NHL games under their belt. Braden Schneider is intriguing but will be an RFA after next season and then we have another decision. Again, Muel's salary will become an issue.

Who you guys and gals got tonight? I would love for FLA to win it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that after the last home game, Toronto will come out screaming and win this one.

I might be interested in camping at ASP with Bowen before the moving truck gets there.

Too young?

I’ve said it a bunch of times. Every player in this lineup is capable of being a good, contributing player on a good playoff team. But the roster sucks as built. I can speculate as to what I think it might be, but honestly, I am not sure. I just know that there is something significantly not right with this collection of good enough to be better than what they are players.

Outside of Tage, Tuch and JJP everyone is a big time question mark. I'd like to add another top 6 guy as Norris when healthy a good 2nd line C but still need another winger.

Hard to tell when the whole team brings each other down in certain ways. Guys I thought were not good would go to other teams and look so much better than I thought

He was waived by Nashville on November 9, 2024 and according to https://shrpsports.com/nhl/stand.php?link=Y&season=2025&divcnf=cnf&month=Nov&date=9 the Sabres were actually higher in the standings than Columbus who ultimately got him.
