  2. no, that’s not what I mean. However, whether winning a Cup helps at all is debatable.
  3. We can have differing views on his talent level. Regardless which one of us is right in our assessment in him , from a cap standpoint it will be extremely challenging to fit his upgraded contract within the cap, especially when near future contracts will need to be addressed soon.
  4. Good franchise does good thing. Meanwhile in buffalo
  5. When Dahlin was hurt he was used as the top guy and sucked so bad he made Risto look like Denis Potvin.
  6. The "good" news is you don't have to worry about Adams giving Tuch $9 million per because he's counting down the days until he escapes this dumpster fire franchise and wouldn't stay here for any amount.
  7. I like Bryan a lot . But from a cap distribution and roster construction standpoint I don’t see how the Sabres can pay him at a $7 plus per year on an extended contract. If dealt, what can we get for him or use his salary spot for another player? If it can result in getting Power a more suitable partner or another Zucker like player, then I would deal him.
  8. The most galling thing for a Tuch extension is that he gave them 4 solid years, two of which were 1st line 36-goal seasons. Adams wasted the entirety (next year notwithstanding) of one of the best value contracts in the league by not building around him and using all that extra cap space to get RHD, G, and another top-6 C. For his entire time with the team. Now, Adams is going to have to pay Tuch $9M/year still doesn't have the players in the gaps they needed to fill when Adams had all that cap space. There is no reason for Tuch to say: "I can give you a hometown discount because we're playoff regulars and pending-championship-contender status and I believe in you." There's no reason for Tuch to stay.
  9. Americans forget that the Canadians were there on D-Day and also gave their lives in the battle of the Atlantic. They deserve better.
  10. thinking that Musk salute was an admission not a mistake
  11. Today
  12. There's some evidence he can be more.
  13. Being a serious team would add two to four thousand people in the seats at the game. There is a difference between selling tickets and fans actually showing up. Buffalo is a good example of that. The truth of the matter is regardless what the actual revenue projections are the Sabres are a failed franchise from a competitive standpoint because the owner made a lot of bad hockey decisions.
  14. I’m asking this sincerely; please explain the part about going to the finals costing a team money.
  15. Defenseman Max Crozier and forward Conor Geekie were returned to Syracuse after Tampa was eliminated.
  16. Yes. And if Rochester wins tonight, they will have to wait for CLE/LAV to wrap up.
  17. It is definitely about us. That's why I am so pessimistic 😄.
  18. From a revenue standpoint I will take your word for it although I dont see how... I think however we are talking about value of the franchise.. I am not sure that winning the Stanley Cup decreases the value of your franchise...
  19. It makes me wonder if Kevyn and crew even watch the playoffs. Can’t they see why some teams are good and others are not?
  20. We are winning the eastern conference next year. We are going to be like the Chicago blackhawks and la kings of the 2010s and come out of nowhere
  21. There are those who will tell you that winning a championship doesn’t increase value and even though early round playoff ticket money can increase actual positive cash flow, going to the finals can actually cost a team money.
  22. Cleveland had to win a play-in series first for the right to play the division winners.
  23. Why? He’s a soft second pair dman.
  24. Montreal and Ottawa aren’t proven pieces and I am not prepared to say they are on the verge of jumping up a tier yet. Apparently New Jersey is not much different. Neither are Columbus or Detroit Boston broke. PIttsburgh broke. The Islanders might be preparing a reset. Philly is in one. Tampa and the Rangers are declining. I have a feeling Washington just had one of those years. I think you’ve got three good teams in the East: Toronto, Florida and Carolina. It’s not about them, it’s about us. Stop making excuses. Make the right moves. Seize the opportunity.
  25. at this point Pegula is rivaling the Government (State and Fed) as his only competition for most incompetent....
  26. How are we playing game 3 tonight and they just played the first game??
