  1. Past hour
  2. You’re probably awesome as a person, but your trade offers are terrible. lol. The Bahl Klapka one is worse though. lol
  3. Are you suggesting that KA is a standard setter that will be difficult to match?
  4. Few people would say that KA won those trades. The overwhelming view was that from a talent and competitive standpoint those deals set this franchise back. KA would respond that he was starting a new rebuild and it would be cheaper. Especially because of the smaller financial commitment to the roster from the restart, the owner possessed a long lasting radiant smile. There will always be a minority view with any transaction. But in the trading of Eichel and Reinhardt the sober members recognized what end of the stick we ended with.
  5. Kevin Bahl is a LHD
  6. With maybe the exception of Appert, the rest of the coaching staff only has one year remaining on their contracts, didn’t want him to feel left out
  7. Apparently the Rangers want to OS Peterka but they don’t have anywhere near a decent contract they can offer. 5x7mil is like their max until reaching about 7x9mil. 7x9mil would mean the 12th pick goes to Pittsburgh and then 26, 27, 28, 29 1sts would be our compensation. At 5x7mil we can easily match and skip to the bank.
  8. Have they actually drafted any Penn State player other than Brett Murray?
  9. You were suggesting to trade Tage and called him garbage. Apologies if you were being funny or sarcastic, but Tage is the first guy to have two 40+ goal seasons for this franchise in almost 20 years. Tage was also third in the league in goal scoring. To me, that’s the extra gear and you wanted it traded. So you’re suggesting to trade a bunch of “non extra gear” guys for the “extra gear” guys? Seems likely.
  10. After they kill it out back..
  11. I’d love Rakell just so I can continue to joke about him making a long journey from Milan to Minsk.
  12. If they honestly OS the 4 1sts level I’d let him go and be happy for Peterka. He’s a great player but he’s certainly nowhere near 11.7mil per. i also believe 8x9mil would put him at that level too. I’d be saddened but accept 4 1sts because 8x9mil isn’t exactly a number we can afford next season. Did they change the whole 5 year thing? Where 6/7 year deals would have their total divided by 5 for compensation levels.
  13. So one season just like his last go around?
  14. Today
  15. No to the first part, I ain’t trading Helenius for either Rakell or Rust; neither inspire me in any manner. 1 is a career Crosby line mate and the other was a mediocre player in Anaheim before playing with Crosby/Malkin. To the 2nd sure, maybe we can get to 5x8mil or 6x9mil with some deferred money to lower the cap hit.
  16. I just assume that aldi keeps all their meat at room temperature.
  17. Did you see my name?
  18. 8m x 5yr is a contract id love for tuch....I think it will be a tick higher
  19. And both are over 33. Yeah it take more than either one of these two if make any kind of move with Helenius involved IMO.
  20. Given how much better old man Reimer was vs UPL, I could see a goalie transaction doing more for this team vs a coaching change.
  21. We are Aldi shoppers. Where we live its the most reliable game in town. In years past we would buy the bulk of our groceries at Aldi, but we bought our meat and some fancy things from other sources. The quality of the other source we used for meat slipped a good bit so we started buying more and more meat from Aldi. We’ve had mostly pretty good experiences. Not great experiences, certainly nothing to brag about, but decent enough for weekday. The Aldi grass fed skirt steak I cooked today was probably the worst steak I have ever attempted to eat. It was rubber at medium rare. Not hard to chew. Completely incapable of being chewed. I do not believe I have ever experienced steak this tough and unchewable. I didn’t even give it to the dog. And yes, I do know to slice this cut thin across the grain. It didn’t matter. In fairness, we have bought alot of skirt steaks from Aldi. A few have been a little tougher than I want. Most have been pretty OK. OK enough that we keep going back to the well. This one, though, will definitely have me looking sideways at the skirt steaks for quite awhile. Yeah, first world problems
  22. Rakell has better all round metrics, Rust is a defensive black hole
  23. Wait, is it still OK to fire assistant coaches in mid-June?
  24. Seattle just fired Bob Woods-hire him as a PP Specialist for one season
  25. They will never reach Adams level of incompetence, but Drury and Verbeek are not good GMs
  26. I dont know a ton about Rust but he has 3 more years at 5.125 million, he is 33. Its hard because is his success off Crosby or is he a strong veteran presence? I do like adding a vet forward to this team although that would have to mean one of Quinn or Peterka will be moving As for Tuch, if its 8 million, sign that all day and laugh 5-6 years at 8 million is perfect Id be really interested in others thoughts on this. Here is Rusts scouting report: Is a smallish but tenacious winger who plays a sound two-way game. His speed helps make him a consistent offensive threat as well as someone who can be trusted when his team is trying to hang onto a lead. He is a tenacious forechecker who can also kill penalties. Though he will never be an elite scorer, he can put the puck in the net on a regular basis. Injuries are a factor here. Here is Rackel: Is not the scorer he was while posting back-to-back 30-goal seasons before turning 25, but he is still capable of putting the puck in the net and is a solid point producer who can play anywhere up front. He is more of a finisher than a passer and is at his best when playing with a good playmaker. A lack of optimum size continues to be a drawback; he has never been a physical player and can be pushed off the puck at times. These just feel like more undersized forwards, especially Rackel, at least Rust is a penalty killer and forechecks
  27. If you asked me "What is the absolute dumbest move they could possibly make" trading Helenius for either of those two would probably be my answer.
