  1. Past hour
  2. I do because I think Shanahan is good. He built a strong organization in Toronto. The players just never pushed through but they were always set up to win. Shanahan would be a giant signal from Terry that he is ready to get serious. For Shanahan to agree to come it would mean the hierarchy would be changing in Buffalo. It would bring credibility to the franchise.
  3. I don’t think there are any experienced “senior advisors” who would tolerate the current FO hierarchy.
  4. This plus cost. I saw a report that showed his resigning in Toronto was $5m/year. What does Kev make in the 716? Maybe $1.1- 1.4m? Definitely at the low end.
  5. Amerks had a good year. I know thats not what people want to hear because they have their issues with the Sabres. But that was a successful season I do have one thing to say regarding the playoffs though. The Noah Östlund disappearing act in the playoffs hurt them bad. After that first stretch where he was figuring out the north American game, he was roughly a point per game player. They needed this guy to show up and he didn't. I know he had less opportunities bc of kulich, but you have to do more than 2 assists in 8ish games
  6. Dallas is not in line for Marner. In fact they are just about the only team that desperately needs to shed cap dollars. But I get your point about the “tax states” getting big signings lately. Serious question. What was the last big name UFA that was “over paid” (let’s use $13.5M for Marner) that paid dividends to that team? Scott Niedermayer in Anaheim was key to their D and helped win a cup. Panarin has been solid to above average for the term of his UFA deal. But no cup. How many other signings have been abject failures? Is the Tavares signing in Toronto a failure? Still playing at a high level but didn’t his AAV affect what they could do with their RFAs? Not a fan of the risk/reward element around that type of commitment.
  7. Absolutely 100%.... but I also like the idea of being able to dunk a basketball... which I am pretty sure will happen well before Shanahan comes to work under Kevyn Adams...
  8. ..if it means KA has a reduced role, then yes, bring him onboard. I don't see this happening tho, a guy like Shanahan won't fit under Terry's thumb.
  9. The Concept of Shanahan?
  10. Coming to the Sabres front office? I never really liked the guy. He was a good hockey player but I don’t think that automatically makes you a good front office man. Also in my typical “the world has it out for Buffalo” attitude I think he rooked us a few times when he was with the league office.
  11. Imo, Benson’s edge work borders on elite. And that skill helps make him the pest that he is on the ice. When he gets his man strength, watch out.
  12. I'm glad that you're so adamant that Power is THE GUY. I am not. He's currently a smaller anchor of one of the worst defensive units in the league. Owen Power needs to take a life changing leap to be an anchor of any defensive unit in the league. At the moment hes part of the problem with th blue line. ATM I think he's a really nice player to have on an established unit. Expecting him to anchor anything is why the perception is that he's failing. Because he sucks anchoring anything (including himself). And when people rally around "power needs a partner", the undercurrent of that is that he isn't good enough. We need better defensemen who are better than OP. $8M defensemen shouldn't need somebody better than them to be good.
  13. Last September it was $150 for a year (iirc) and I seriously considered it at the time, but I thought I’d see how the Sabres fared first before sinking another dime for my time. Well, my revolt against the organization crystallized as the season progressed and I gave less and less of a damn as it wore on. But as usual, the season ended and my thirst for hockey returned, so I thought “what the hell” and for $30 I thought it was worth watching the farm kids in the playoffs. I just didn’t see the point in watching any more FloHockey when the Amerks got eliminated as I have no interest in the remaining Calder Cup contenders. But FloHockey is a good deal, regardless.
  14. With the amount of higher-end prospects we have in Rochester I was always a bit annoyed every time he got a call-up. I always felt we should get getting our blue-chip prospects NHL experience so they could figure out what to work one when they get sent back down to the AHL. Calling up Rousek was a wasted development opportunity for higher end talent, imo.
  15. Well, it was a nice run, but the Hurricanes had to eventually win a conference final game since that fateful day almost 19 years ago. 0-15 was fun while it lasted.
  16. I looked, 7th in height and 14th in weight for Buffalo.
  17. Today
  18. Sabres were like the 12th biggest nhl team this season or something but please, tell me more.
  19. Kevyn? Is that you?
  20. EP draft guide drops next week. I always recommend it.
  21. Exactly, he got a cup of coffee up in Buffalo. Not everyone even gets that.
  22. A good AHLer who would get into puck battles and then look to feed his snipery linemates. The last three seasons he was a top five Amerk scorer: 4th (2nd in assists), 5th (1st in assists), and 1st (1st). Best fortune to him in the SHL. And then there was one. Ryan Johnson is now the sole remaining player in the Sabres organization from JBott's 2019 draft class.
  23. Yeah, probably best for him. Didn't make the jump is the perfect way to phrase it. But hey, not every late round pick is going to be an Olofsson. Byeeeee Lukas.
  24. Thank you for your work in Rochester, good luck in Europe Lukas.
  25. Go Sabres!
  26. Go Sabres!
  27. I’m adamant on my position on not trading Power regardless of the return. I believe that in the not too distant future m he will be an anchor defenseman. I’m tired of seeing our players on other teams thriving somewhere else.
