Remember all the Pitt people Terry had hanging around. The plan clearly was to be awful, so awful they would land the next Crosby.

With his time rumored to be coming to a close, what was GMKA’s worst of the worst? There’s a lot to choose from.

In the spring Darcy said ownership would determine the extent of the rebuild. He also cited Minny as the right way to rebuild. There's no way he was fired for doing too good (bad) a job at tearing things down. To be clear I think Darcy saw the lay of the land and got a golden parachute for his service.

As you noted, Paul Hamilton is not noted for harsh or controversial commentary. I like him but in general his style is reasonable and bland. However, on the topic of the competency of KA, even the blind can see. It was absurd for the aloof owner to hire KA to be his GM, and it is even more absurd to keep him on the job for so long.

OK I would agree but we have no idea what his real role is in decisions and if he was an Adams choice or Pegula choice. If he was a Terry choice I would be a little more confident that he is atleast starting to take things more seriously. But if Jarmo becomes GM and is handcuffed by having to make Appert coach then nothing will change.

The very same.

“but noooooooooooot out!” infinitely watchable.

I remember that vividly. I was living in Chicago at the time, but coming into Buffalo that weekend with a good friend of mine. It was his first trip to Buffalo and his first Sabres game. We had great seats, etc. and were really looking forward to it. I always liked to bring friends to Buffalo for Bills & Sabres games, as they are always impressed by how much fun the city is. Obviously, the game was postponed. Now I bring my kids....

Wasn’t Gareth the guy who lost his job with Glasgow for trying to sign an alleged rapist? Maybe he learned his lesson and has grown?
-
It was beyond awful. If they didn't dump Rolston there would've been a mass revolt. They were 4-15-1 and they weren't as good as the record indicated. It was flat out unwatchable. They couldn't get the puck out of their own end. Nolan got them to at least play hockey. And even though they did they still finished about 20 points out of 2nd last place in the league.

Adams is *the* symbol for lack of accountability. I think the ripple effects down through the organization of his firing (especially as things get increasingly rank and file) can be notable - depending on how long they wait. Simply not extending his contract sends much less impactful a message than firing him when you don’t strictly have to Adams was hired under the mandate of improving culture - ironically it appears the only way Adams is capable of positively affecting culture is through his axing
-
I did say embarrass him .. further.

I honestly never remember them being unwatchable then like I do now. I watched all 82 back then essentially. Style of play doesn’t get to me like a lack of hope does
