  1. Past hour
  2. They were unlucky last week, but there are probably weeks when they are more towards luckiest as well. Seems to me the "lucky" teams like Tampa tend to have superb goaltending. So they probably give up fewer goals than expected over time...and get some wins scoring fewer goals as well.
  3. Where I only disagree with your post is the unfairness of earning a point for an OT and SO loss. What’s so unfair with a format that applies to all teams? What I do find unfair and aggravating is the arbitrary way the goalie interference rule is applied by the referees. (As noted by a previous poster.)
  4. Don't do this to us Sabres. Please.
  5. Sabres won a couple.... That means..
  6. Clearly Norris is heads and shoulders above Cozens. The only wrinkle here is the injury risk.
  7. No it’s not. 60 pts last year made you tied for 74th in forward scoring. That’s first line level scoring. Florida’s 2nd line had from 45-53 pts last season.
  8. Don’t let Bob Kraft or DeShaun Watson know about this!
  9. At some point, they'll actually play the game they need to play on the road and get themselves over NHL 0.500. Why not tonight? They normally save their stinker home games for the ones that are sold out/ close to sold out. But they played very well in their last few home games (even though on the scoreboard they were destroyed by Joisey). So, if they can get that monkey off their backs, why not get the road monkey and the can't crack 0.500 monkey off their backs too? They came back from behind to win in their last road game. No better time than the present to get it in your head that you WON'T stick it back up your arse just because you're still flexible enough to do so. 😉 Maybe the Sabres are ready for that next baby step?
  10. The vibe around here is clearly on the upswing. GDT of three pages and puck drop is still 4 hours away. 👍 My goodness I hope they don't spit the bit tonight (like they've done so many times in similar circumstances).
  11. It's funny though as much as Adams may have made lemonade out of a lemon situation there still seems to be a perception that that if you trade with the Sabres you are going to get the better player. I was watching Ottawa play Montreal last night and the announcers were talking about Cousins and how players improve when the leave the Sabres. Just as they were saying that Cousins got blasted off his skates by a Canadian.
  12. Today
  13. I miss a lot of things about the times past. My first house was the flat above my grandparents house on the West Side. They were there everyday. I saw my extended family everyday. Someone else owns that house. The family business is gone after 90+ years. The church has long been closed. The school is now an immigrant relocation shelter. Times change.
  14. There aren't many teams fitting that bill, but there are a few. Filly being 1 of them. Think Briere would do the Sabres a solid?
  15. You make your own luck. (So, yes, the Sabres are unlucky.)
  16. But you what happened to Ray McKigney.
  17. I do so miss sitting with my grandparents watching the golden era flicks. Thanks for posting this PA, a reminder of the pure comfort of yester-years gone by. How I do miss them so.
  18. I don’t for a second think that this is something that happens at this stage of a season.
  19. Does that mean his shootout goal was a happy ending?
  20. It's like an advanced +/-.
  21. Dear Tage "Tommy Dangles" Thompson, If you're reading this post, please, for the love of God, CALL OUT YOUR TEAM BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. Thanks! Sincerely, All Those concerned.
  22. It is fun and almost a guilty pleasure. It's probably not the best or fairest way to hand out a valuable extra point, but I agree that it's very fast and dramatic to watch. Gets the heart pumping a little bit faster. And after a string of OT losses, maybe it's starting to swing in the Sabres' favor. They do have the speed and offensive skill to succeed in OT and shootouts, and with mobile defensemen like Dahlin, Power, and Byrum, it should give them an advantage, as these guys can (theoretically....) defend, but also have speed and offensive skill to jump into the play in the offensive zone. Most teams have a guy or two of that ilk, but the Sabres have 3. Kesselring may also fall into that category when he returns. It's ironic that the guy with the recent OT game winner is Samuelsson, who is NOT that type of player.
