This teams sucks, flat out. But, I am quite partial to date nights when tix are cheap, leaving extra dough for grub and other fun things to do. It's also nice knowing that we're trash, and I can laugh at the team when we're getting plastered. Last year I was at the infamous avs game and the guy behind me was an Avs fan and he was getting all butt hurt.. I remember talking with him and telling him, I still think we're gonna lose.... He was all like no way... Sure enough.... The anxiety Bills games bring is nonexistent in that arena. That's not a good quality but does allow for a stress free eve

I disagree for several reasons. Being "rational" has little to do with being a "supporter." Quite the opposite really. Being a supporter implies levels of commitment, loyalty, and devotion that go well beyond what most "fans" would generally exhibit. A supporter is a true stakeholder -- a person who truly sees the team as theirs (in part anyway). A supporter's commitment to the club is unconditional and unwavering. They support the club in much the same way they breathe. You hear the idiom "fair weather fan," and often that shoe fits. Fans can be fickle. Supporters are not.

Yea but that one is more for the "fantastic ***** Friday" thread.

Remember how we had to trade a 2nd for Malenstyn because he scared Appert in the AHL playoffs? We've got great coaches.

The drop in crossings is real, but your projection that the agents are doing egregious things and making people not want to cross is not a real factor. Asking questions is their job. Even the blog/article that you posted and the many comments to that article say that. Certainly they might ask more questions today than they did in 1975 or even 2005, the world is a different place. Crossing are down because of these tangible reasons: 1. Trump's rhetoric on annexing the 51 state - this understandable by most normal people. Canadian pride is strong. 2. Tariffs - the tariffs on Canada will hurt jobs and an already bad economy. This would be reason #1 if not for Trumps foolish comments, which piss off Canadians more than the tariff itself. 3. The exchange rate - Why would someone cross a boarder to buy goods and services with today's exchange rate? T The rate is $0.73 cents as I type. Canadian snowbirds are leaving Florida in droves, they were before the tariffs, and they still are now. Vacationing and paying a 27% premium on everything is not for everyone. This is math. I cross that boarder several times a year and I do not have NY or Ontario plates. I had a passport that looked like a stamp collection. I get asked questions on both sides of the boarder - this is just not a problem for a normal and well adjusted individual.

That is how one gets clicks and views.

I think the Canadian Sabres fans will likely eschew the border crossing more than say the Leafs fans that make the trip to see their team... if what transpires this year is more of the same or worse I think the bigger problem will the the US Sabres fans... I would suspect their attendance to diminish significantly as well I get the feeling that people have truly had enough... but we shall see.

Is there a possibility that this is transitional sure, I think every major move causes a transition period... but the point to me is... we got the same old results that we always got, so its an excuse as well... Bottom line to me is... Clearly flabbergasted by this teams performance and Lindy's ability to get to the room... most times they looked lazy, uninspired and mostly unwilling to do the things required in the game of hockey to win... I look to the coach and the makeup of the team here... That said, I am nostalgic at heart and remember Lindy fondly with his time here prior... So, before I pass judgement that time has passed him by, I am looking to the first half of the season to see if he has changed the hearts and minds of his players.. but deep down I fear time has passed him by and this is all one big excuse like so many other excuses...

And boobs. It’s also about boobs.

I acknowledged the reduction in crossings. I'm referring to your insinuation that everyone crossing is suspicious and apparently facing additional scrutiny.

He did come back.

Internet isn't about being correct it's about getting the clicks and views

Apparently Terry became a Sabres fan after Dudley went to the WHA.

The sheer amount of internet BS bloggers posting complete crap regarding imaginary trades is staggering. None of them ever materialize.

I live in NH and I'm 45 minutes from Hampton Beach. The big news this summer was all the empty hotel rooms and unrented condos that normally are filled with vacationers from Quebec.

Dude, the drop in border crossings is real. It's math. Every business in the US that relies on people coming from up north is hurting. Don't come here trying to gaslight us that it's not happening.
-
I’m tempted. Saw them about 10-12yrs ago at Darien Lake. They put on a good show.

Will the Sabres be better coached this year?
PerreaultForever replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I pretty much agree with @LGR4GM here. It sounds like a bunch of bs excuses. Ruff is a veteran to the extreme and he was hired with plenty of time to make changes and adjustments. The fact he didn't, or wasn't allowed to bring in his own staff was the biggest reason this team was poorly coached, and none of that has changed. How a failed team doesn't fire anybody but a fitness trainer is just mind boggling. Meanwhile I read about Rick Dudley talking about threepeats and I just shake my head in dismay. We could have just handed this thing over to smart alumni years ago and been spared all this pain. Thanks Terry. -
This isn't going to help the Sabres
PerreaultForever replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
I know for a fact here on the BC border some Canadians are being asked to hand over and unlock their phones or they aren't allowed in. It's absurd, and border crossings are down around 30% from the usual amounts. This sort of thing will undoubtedly hurt the Sabres. Detroit and Seattle as well I imagine. -
Considering how high and how many picks they have had I'd say their drafting has been meh for longer than that. Probably through the entire Pegula era. Unless I'm forgetting somebody Samuelson and UPL are the only non first rounders that they drafted still on the roster and they were both JBot picks. In any event considering 15 years of no playoffs their prospect pool should be ranked higher than 13th wouldn't you say? Top ten at least.

‘Who will save you goals’ by Jewel People living their lives watching you on TV, They say Bostons better than you, and you agree. He says we’ve got a center spine, defense too, but between the pipes we havent got a clue Another penalty, a tap in rebound, another failure to clear, You know you love them, if you watch them this year. .. who will save your goals, when your netminder folds? And who will save your goals, when the defense can’t hold? Now Who will save your goals… If you won’t save your own … We try to check 'em, try to hack 'em, try to snipe 'em The fans want someone to cheer down on Seymour Knox avenue Another draft, another miss, another cheap UFA, another banner Went up where the uneducated have their homes So we pray that Uppie can steal the show But we call religion our friend, We're so worried about savin' our goals Afraid that an injury will take its toll and the doubt creeps back in, but But.. who will save your goals, when your netminder folds? And who will save your goals, when the defense can’t hold? Now Who will save your goals… If you won’t save your own

Water shoes, absolutely!!! Even if it's been a relatively dry summer, there are likely a few spots that are unavoidable and mid-calf deep. Mind you, it's been a few years since I've been down that way, and the state has been "improving" the trail, so it might be traverseable with sneakers? There is a dirt path which runs on either side of the stream, but where's the fun in that? 😁 Just outside of Naples is the lesser known (not as many humans to spoil the nature setting) trail, Clark's Gully. A bit more of an advanced hike vs Grime's, and not as much stream, but it's just as pretty IMO I'd imagine those hotel rates will start to dip in the coming weeks? There are numerous B&B's in the city (I live here, and the "city" designation is laughable, as there can't be more than 20k residents in the city of Canandaigua), and they're in the historic district (gorgeous homes). I bet there are a few stunners to be found along the lake, if you search the Air B 'n B app? Pittsford is a pretty town, but I'm a country boy so Monroe County is a "no" for moi 😁
