  1. Past hour
  2. Lyon rode his snowmobile to school at the age of 11. He can handle Hammy.
  3. That Caps team was terrible. The KC Scouts and the Cleveland Barons has some terrible teams too. Same with the Seals. Same Don't forget the Sabres recent 91 point season, Florida edged us out by a point on the strength of the play of backup goalie Alec Lyon who beat us late in the season in a game were we outplayed Florida. This was the year after their 122 point Presidents Trophy season and they squeaked in with a 92 point season. Florida rode that WC#2 spot all the way to the Cup final, losing to Vegas. They have since won the last two Cups.
  4. No but if you use Elite Prospects they have the projections at the bottom for the current season.
  5. If he can effortlessly swat away a Paul Hamilton leading non question question, he can hold up.
  6. Are you Chad DeDominicis? He said the same thing. 🤣
  7. The 1943-44 Rangers and the 2023-24 San Jose Sharks both are tied for the worst start with 11 consecutive losses. At least the Rangers happened with only 6 teams, not the watered down 30+ as there are now. San Jose set a dubious record with most losses to start a season in consecutive years when they lost 9 straight games last year, meaning between 2023-24 and 2024-35 they lost 20 consecutive games to start the season.
  8. Bump i got nothing
  9. I would like to play the Rangers again soon. They have a goalie and the rest is over rated
  10. No UPL will be improved because he feels he has "something to prove" again. It's an ongoing trend with him. When he feels like he has to prove something to earn playing time, he focuses in, plays very well and earns the playing time. Then once he gets it and feels no real pressure, he seems to lose focus, not pay attention to day to day details and his play falls off a cliff. We have seen this happen in both directions twice now in his career...first when he needed to make the team from Rochester, then fell off once he was comfortable in his role. Then again when he was in the final year of his contract and had a chance for a big payday. Then once he got it and earned the full time role, fell off a cliff and then thru the ground about 100 feet more. Now he has something to prove again and will probably play very well when he gets a chance...but I would be wary next year if he does play well and we give him the role again...we should expect the same lack of focus, lack of attention to details and severe drop off in play as a result.
  11. Yep I couldn’t agree more. I do honestly think UPL will be improved with the defense as well but he has to earn , no doubt about that Have to see Ellis play, I just am having a feeling he is gonna be good
  12. I doubt Lyon holds up playing 50+ games behind a porous team defense. Would like to see Ellis play before UPL comes back.
  13. Just make something happen...at some point they have to trust their instincts and just "play" and stop being so worried about following structure so strictly. Structure is there as a guideline for overall play NOT to force them to stick to it blindly when doing something else based on their instincts and hockey smarts would be better and more effective. This team is actually REALLY good at that type of creative stuff, they just seemingly don't understand how to use it while still maintaining general structure overall. They either go full on creative with no structure or full on structure being completely rigid with no flexibility or creativity. They have to learn how to be BOTH and knowing when to use one versus using the other and the right times and situations for doing so. They also have to realize that if one player is going creative then another player needs to temporarily make up for them by playing structured, not also joining the creativity frenzy like a kid trying to join in at a pizza party.
  14. .911 is light years better than what we got last year. Keep playing him until he shows he is not able to sustain that and it starts falling off drastically. UPL at this point needs to show why he deserves ANY playing time.
  15. They would but they have zero cap space so to make it work it has to be money in money out or we retain and I am not retaining on UPL
  16. Maybe Edmonton would be interested?
  17. I'm inclined to agree, I'm just not sure we're getting much for him. He must have a reputation as frequently injured at this point.
  18. Benson was a Number 9. He voluntarily became Number 6.
  19. OK, the Sabres had one win over what looked like a minor league goalie. Lets see how they fair in the next few games. We have not seen Kesselring with actual bullets flying. Doan has 12 career goals in 62 games over two seasons when he got here. Peterka averaged 22 goals per season in 3 seasons. Lets keep things in perspective. Peterka did not like playing for Lindy so he got out. Reports are that many young players don't like playing for Lindy. Reports are that players have no confidence in Adams ability to improve the team. There is nothing Peterka ever said or did to suggest he was bad for the team culture. He seems to care about his career and he made a business decision. I don't blame Eichel and Reinhart for wanting out, why should I blame Peterka? That said I am hopeful that Doan can be a good player. I saw his Dad playing out west quite a bit, and if the kid has that kind of heart and hustle he will help this team. He has yet to show a goal scoring touch but that could emerge. Right now he is trying to establish himself as a middle 6 winger and I view him as a diamond in the rough. I like that we received two promising pieces for Peterka, but we don't have to put down Peterka to like Doan.
  20. I’d want to see a couple games from Ellis to see what we have there but UPL has an uphill battle to get the net back the one thing that is good is Lindy clearly showed last year that he doesn’t have faith in UPL, and he will ride the hot hand
  21. I would trade UPL. Not because I have faith in Lyon being great forever or Ellis but I just think both are better than UPL. Maybe UPL will prove me wrong? Hope so.
  22. Loved seeing them "out of position" that is how good power plays score goals. By moving and keeping the D having to pay attention to the players and the puck.
  23. FLA is Saturday early. But get the sentiment. That'll be a great test. Yes, they're missing Barkov and Tkachuk but they have a lot of other talent on that roster. Do to them what Detroit did last night and maybe people start getting hope back.
  24. Zach Benson is on pace for 316 assists this season. I say he does it.
  25. Today
  26. This was a fun game to be at. Definitely a rollercoaster until it went to 7-4. Easily the best time I’ve had at a home Sabres game since the butt goal probably. There was still a ton a bad in the game, but Doan, Benson, and Lyon easily stole the show. Hopefully Kesselring has a serious impact on the D because it’s not good right now.
