  1. Past hour
  2. I forgot about (maybe repressed is more accurate) the mockery of a coaching search. It really is the exclamation point to it all.
  3. Oh yes, I was just responding to your sentence that said "pummel Zadorov" to point out the outcome would not necessarily be a one sided affair. The concept of vengeance for the hit on Power is another matter. From what I've seen from Geertson so far is he's a non factor. IF Geertson was using his body, if he hit a Bruin into the bench, maybe then you'd see a Bruin response. Pretty sure you would actually from Jeannot, or Zadorov, maybe Kastelic, but there'd be a response. But Geertson plays passively and ineffectively so why bother with him? Ruff knows the Sabres are soft and he's hoping they play bigger with a guy like Geertson around, but so far they don't. Maybe Krebs does and maybe Benson will, but overall they just aren't that sort of player and that's what we have, a bunch of Jack Quinns. Some of them look like they've already checked out. Geertson is just Ruff trying to redo John Scott. They'd be better off with Dunne in my opinion because, although he's not as heavyweight, he plays a more complete and effective 4th line game.
  4. Seems to be a consistent theme in both teams Terry owns. He wants compliant, don't ever rock the boat people in his organizations. They consistently trade or cut anyone on either team who might voice any issues within the team. Terry thinks having his type of people, with his “faith, family, football/hockey” values is the most important thing in an organization.
  5. I saw the video - Chara has 5 inches on Geertson and he used every inch to keep away and land whatever he could from a safe distance away. Chara was smart. Zaradov ran Power off the ice and into the bench from way behind the play, the camera didn't pick it up but the announcers did, and the refs let it go. He also had a late hit on Tage. So Geertson answering is what we needed, whether he wins or loses is not as important. What else can he do in his 4 minutes of ice? Taking Zadarov off for 5 minutes would have been a positive for the Sabres but Zadarov preferred to chirp away from behind the linesman.
  6. Today
  7. Excellent post. After Adams threw Granato under the bus, and got some players to do the same, he said he would do an exhaustive head coach search for a coach with NHL experience. Less than two weeks later they hired Lindy. Adams danced around the timeline and said that he might not have interviewed many, but he "talked" to many. The reality is that Pegula was behind this and there was no coach search. We know for a fact he never talked to Cup winning Craig Berube and a bunch of others. So here we are.
  8. Yesterday
  9. There are very few that can follow all 400 baseball games a team plays in a season. But you don't really have to to enjoy the sport. Baseball is nice because it's that one constant that's on all summer long. Most times I'm too busy to catch the games, but it's always nice to have it as a fall back for when I'm not busy since it's on almost every day. Also nice to just be able to check a score at the end of the night when I get home or in the morning before work. I'm always a bit said when I have a free night and the Jays have the night off.
  10. Historically, hockey is more exciting by far.... Minus the last 15 years of Fandom 😑😩😥 this year watching the world quilting championships may be more exiting than my beloved team.
  11. I am greatly impressed
  12. The pitch clock has made a BIG difference. Also, batters cannot step out of the batter’s box and can only call time once. It has helped a lot with folks like me who have shorter attention spans.
  13. You follow the Sabres yet think BASEBALL is boring?
  14. I won't lie, I actually think baseball is VERY boring. But.. I worked night shift the other night when the Tigers lost in the 15th and even I can admit that was high quality sports. Certainly more exciting than the Sabres (and that's sad to speak) I guess I'll pull for the jays and try and catch a bit more from this point out. Ain't no way I can even think of paying attention to regular season and it's 400 games 😂
  15. Playoff baseball is killer
  16. Puck battles has been the issue for years. They are soft, they quit on plays, they won't battle hard, they won't pay the price. It's not a coincidence that in Bruins discussions they often get to "Mittlestadt doesn't battle hard enough I'm worried about him" and he's actually getting better but is still the most Sabre like. Jokiharju seems to have grown a pair and that might be because he's playing beside Zadorov. To the last sentence would Geertson pummel Zadorov? Chara handled him in his old age. Zadorov isn't Chara, but he's younger and he fights pretty good: Zadorov holds his own against Olivier (who I think is the best fighter in the league): But Zadorov was smart. Why fight a loser fourth liner? The chirping was hilarious.
  17. the most salient element however is that Adams deserves to be fired..so he should be fired. Even leaving aside the fact it could be reflective of a change of mindset for Terry, or that he could get lucky with a new hire, or that there literally can’t be someone worse - it at the very least shows some element of accountability. That this element is somehow underplayed well escapes me: THE BIGGEST issue with the sabres is lack of expectation and accountability. That’s what put them in this mess. People keep taking about culture - without a level of accountability that doesn’t exist. Adams is demonstrably bad so he deserves to be fired. “But will the new hire even be better? Terry sucks!” is an elementary level diversion. Of course Terry is the big bad. It does not change the fact that Adams deserves to be fired we learn at like age 5 that “two wrongs don’t make a right.” Avoiding firing Adams cause it “might not make a difference” is bottom of the barrel thinking. He doesn’t deserve to be GM.
  18. Great post. People as a rule seem to have difficulty seeing nuance And this
  19. This place is is so tired of us being right they’ve decided to paint us as the villain. I honestly just feel bad for the fans doing this
  20. The issue is Tage doesn’t know any better. He could be that leader, but he developed in this mess and what he sees is normal to him. Same for Dahlin. We need a leader to come from the outside. Preferably with the coach and GM that made him a leader.
  21. A change desperately needs to happen. Unfortunately there is a scenario where we end up with GM Jerry Forton and HC Seth Appert, if Jarmo says no
