Trump destroyed the evidence. If the Trump administration doesn't need evidence then neither do the citizens. There is no "fine line" he is a straight Pedophile or someone who supports Pedophiles which is just as bad. This is what the people voted for so this is what they will get. A country where evidence is just whatever you want to believe.

The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?
Thorny replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
As much as I struggle with my utter hypocrisy in continuing to support the franchise as it’s run by a regime that’s willingly damaging the Crest, literally prioritizing the saving of $ over winning, a group that has a distinct and documented conflict of interest with the fans…I find myself able to draw the line at being unwilling to painstakingly dig, on my hands and knees, to find squint-and-you-can-see-it potential avenues for improvement from this roster, when those assembling it showed little to zero care in assembling the roster for those purposes They do not deserve it. -
And who is the president of the Sabres hockey ops? Answer: Terry Pegula

But that’s my point. If Lyons is the best available goalie the Sabres are toast. He is probably the best of Comrie, Reimer or Anderson but that isn’t saying much. -

What makes you think Lyon is not the best NHL goalie of the 3 right now? Statistics say otherwise -

What I’m reading here is more hope and prayer of being MAYBE the width of an asshair better than last season. This alone speaks volumes of how badly KA has done to improve this team. 4 points better? Six? We have simpletons running this team. Sorry for the negativity to those that preach patience but I’m all out. As others have said I’ll believe it if and when I see it. They are treading water. -

Interesting Article On Which Sabres Will Have Break out Season

I forgot about Krebs. Wonder if there is more offensive upside there? We do have a lot of interesting potential risers on the team. Especially assuming Norris injured at some point, we will need someone to step up and replace JJP's scoring. Kulich better learn not to set himself up for thundering body checks or he might miss time. Quinn really had chemistry with JJP, hope he is able to play without him -
Yep, it’s just a title. The right GM is all you need.

You might say Adams improved the team TOO much July 12th, man But we ditched Peterka. Forwards are better now, addition by subtraction. Could approach upwards of 350 goals. 375 with a healthy Norris Edit: forgot we swapped Lafferty for Danforth. We could scratch 400 goals -

In defense of Wilford, re: Power. Didn't a whole boatload of evidence just get posted that shows Power has actually been really good? Did Wilford decide to not spend money and assets to get Power a veteran D partner the last 3 years? The Sabres started a new rebuild when Adams fired Kreuger. The next year Granato brought in Wilford as one of his coaches. From 21-22 through 22-23, progress seemed to be reasonably good for our young defenders and team in general. Prior to 23-24, Adams completely failed to recognize the moment when the team needed to make moves that would position them as a clear playoff team. Instead, he brought in Johnson and Clifton and banked on internal growth. That year the team regressed to 84 points from the previous year's 91; but, it should be noted, the 23-24 pre-season point-projection-models, had the Sabres right around 83-86 points. I would argue that the outlier in the Granato years was not the 23-24 regression, but the surprise 91 point season of 22-23. Then, Granato is fired and Ruff is brought in and we see further regression. In Power's game. In UPL's game. In Samuelsson's game. In Quinn's game. Did Wilford start sucking (or sucking more) as an assistant? Or, did we hire a 65 year old with 3 playoff appearances in his last 11 as a head coach (2 actual winning seasons), whose recent teams have, pretty consistently if not every year, had bad defensive and goaltending metrics? I'm not saying they can't do better than Wilford. I don't wish him any ill will, but I don't spend too much time worrying about fired assistant coaches. I'm not directing this at anyone, but to the general fan view that people have of Wilford; that Wilford has become a stand-in for the failings of the Sabres to become a better defensive team, is pretty weak sauce in my view.

Matthew Fairburn Latest Article regarding Terry Pegula and Adams

I don’t listen to them but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that it’s most likely true, I mean the results speak for themself. -
In that case every police officer, prosecutor, judge, etc., should wear masks while doing their jobs as they are all subject to potential retaliation from those they administer justice to. People in the justice system have always been potential targets for retaliation, but knowing who is arresting us is a right in this country and law enforcement is obligated to provide that information. When ICE is involved in extra-judicial activities, especially those targeting US citizen, and they hide their identities to conduct them, then it is operating like a para-military force and that is anathema to the rule of law and our way of life. And just to reiterate my initial post, we can all agree that ICE doing the job they were created to do, ARRESTING CRIMINALS in this country illegally, then we should be grateful and applaud those efforts. But none of us should condone these extra-judicial activities and imo, when there is no criticism of those activities, it is tantamount to being in favor of them.

I loved the old model, big crowd, families, watching the power brokers all in one room. Sure it could have been tweaked into a better broadcast, but the format was unique to hockey and something I looked forward to. A lesser carbon copy of the NFL draft sucks.

Quick: who is their president of hockey ops?

Production tweaks is putting it very mildly. I understand why the teams like it, but the broadcast needs a complete overhaul. Just copy the NFL model and call it a day.

Matthew Fairburn Latest Article regarding Terry Pegula and Adams
dudacek replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Thanks for this. It matches my impression of how Terry has operated the Sabres under Adams. It always seemed to me that Murray got fired mostly for runny a sloppy organization that embarrassed Terry, and Botterill for running a bloated operation that he refused to prune. Their results played a role, but were secondary. Adams steers the ship in a way Terry feels comfortable with and results have been secondary. And that is a failure that is fully on Terry. All the other stuff we complain about — culture, interference, spending — probably has some basis in fact, but it doesn't matter as much as we think. What matters is Kevyn Adams hasn't identified, acquired and developed a good enough team. Period. Full stop. Kevyn thinks he's smarter than he is. -
The draft was awful with the picks facing the GMs in screen and the awkward back and forths.

I always go back to my signposts: Forwards generally break out — basically become who they are — in their 3rd or 4th season, after 200ish NHL games. Defenceman take a little longer Peterka (3rd year, after 161 games), McLeod (4th year, 217 games) and Krebs (4th year, 214 games) followed the model last year. Right now, the Sabres have the following players as candidates Byram 246 games, 5th year Power 242 games, 4th year Quinn 178 games 4th year Kesselring 156 games, 3rd year Benson 146 games, 3rd year I'm not expecting a fully formed Doan (62 games, 2nd year), or Kulich (63 games, 2nd year) to appear yet. -

Despite the bluster I find deep down, Rivet is actually sincere, humble guy and I like listening to him. Peters on the other hand thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, which (as per your post) is very far from the truth. I'm still a regular listener, but if Rivet left, there's no chance I'm listening to Peters. -
Matthew Fairburn Latest Article regarding Terry Pegula and Adams
Pimlach replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I was just told this past week by some people close to the Sabres that Adams runs the hockey operations and the "run it by Terry" stuff is pretty much always met with an "ok" and that this practice is not so unusual in todays NHL. The draft picks, the "no blockers", ignoring of the goaltending, the lack of big trades, the poor roster construction - its all Adams, even the cap situation is Adams saving cap space for his prospects/trades. That is what I am hearing right now. The insiders were making it clear that Adams record is on him and if he were better at his job the team would have improved by now. Terry is not stopping the notion of improvement, but he wants to be informed of what is happening, same as he is with the Bills. Adams keeps him in the loop and listens to him, therefore he can fulfill his contract and then we shall see what happens. Terry has McBeane with the Bills, and they are quite good at their job, and keep him informed too. Terry just cannot figure out the NHL. If he really said this to Shanny, and if he closed that door so quickly, it confirms that he is lost in the NHL world.
