  1. Past hour
  2. Buffalo center spline is maybe better than Boston's and that is it. And to get there you must include Norris or put Thompson back in place of Norris. I complained about the center spline a lot last season and they replaced Cozen with Norris. That only works if Norris can actually play in the games. McLeod is a 3rd liner that can help top 6 a little bit. Krebs and Kozak are JAGs.
  3. What's the old saying, "The best ability is availability." Josh Norris had a clear, well known medical and injury history. The genius GM with an internet Master's degree with no prior experience as a GM decided this was a good deal for the Sabres. Yikes! Kevyn Adams might be a nice guy, but he is entirely unqualified to be a GM and his record proves it. No opinion, just fact!
  4. How the F**K do you hurt yourself taking a goddamn faceoff? Is this guy made of balsa wood or something? In the history of this sport, how many people have been injured taking a draw without getting touched? This has to be one of the most fragile human beings to ever put on a pair of skates. The Tua of hockey.
  5. Read the ORIGINAL POST. You will see that the ORIGINAL POSTER said the words ONE GAME two times in his first four words. MY response to the OP was literally about ONE GAME, because he made a strong point about this ONE GAME. There are many other threads covering the horrific performances of past 14 seasons.
  6. They have a couple Cups.... but Florida isn't making excuses for Barkov or Tkachuk just yet. During the season I'm sure they'll get a bit of flak when someone says "oh, yeah, we missed Barkov, he's one of the best" when a team reporter asks them a leading question "Normally you'd rely on Barkov in that situation... probably missed him today, huh?"
  7. Not even one whole game. The excuse is taking shape sooner than I thought it would.
  8. I'm not sure it's "people" but I think the so called experts or pundits, and the league promoting talking heads want Detroit to be good again. They want the Yzerplan to work, it's in their interest because then they get to talk about the history and legacy. Any team with a history (a positive history) gets them lots of talking points when they do well. original 6 and all that too. If the Sabres ever do well, all we will hear is how they broke the record losing streak.
  9. That's right. I was positive some other team used Song 2. Maybe not. Once we start seeing backup goalies we'll hear it plenty. (Haven't read the whole thread. Did somebody already make that joke?)
  10. I don't think they are breaking the top 8 standings for the rest of the year. I just can't watch this mess, they are lost, and these injuries will sink them even further.
  11. It's a little bit apples-to-oranges though. Quinn was already on the team and just signed a 2x$3.375M extension. (You can certainly argue about the wisdom of that contract.) Benson was replacing Jost (a waiver claim) and Olofsson (a 7th rounder on the last year of his deal who the coach no longer believed in). I don't think either Östlund or Rosén was beating down the door in dev camp or the preseason. And rushing Helenius is probably the worst thing they can do for him, even if he has the stoutest frame of the 3.
  12. Injury settlement for Norris. Adams bought damaged goods
  13. Today
  14. 100% with you my friend... and the owner unless he commits to hiring a professional, backing away and letting them do their job.
  15. While I don’t love the center spine, when I look at the Sabres objectively (or at least try to) I see center as the least of our issues. Look at the team with its current injuries. Bryson and Johnson are starting D. Timmins is on the top 4. Lyon is the starting G with AHL vet Ellis as his backup. Danforth and Malenstyn are playing regular minutes with Geersten on the roster. We have much bigger issues then center.
  16. That’s just deck chairs on the Titanic. We need to erase this management and coaching staff.
  17. This organization is run by morons and coached by idiots.
  18. Grass is fully installed. So the sidelines where the players sit is going to be turf, except where the kicker warms up that part of the sideline will be grass.
  19. I guess I lack confidence that Pegula has any appetite for moving on from Adams. And Appert is Adams' guy.
  20. Do what you have always done, get what youve always got... yesterday looked like a continuation of the familiar beat... and here come the injuries right on queue for this soft uninspired team... this is the year it finally breaks beyond reasonable repair in my estimation... a few losses and this fragile psyche collapses out of reasonable contention by Dec/Jan... stars have had enough asking for trades... Adams is in charge, players wont come here, he inevitably gets fleeced and we start all over with tweedle dee and Smithers in charge... and maybe he fires Ruff so he can promote Appert and bring in another Pittsburgh cast off for GM or Asst. GM... as Adams is promoted to POHO
  21. It’s taking “a bit longer”? Huh? Who does he think he is addressing? JFC the Pegula trainwreck has lost an entire generation of fans. “A bit longer”…how about “a freakin’ eternity”. 😡😡😡😡
  22. It's a thing of beauty. If our sizes were anything near close, I'd buy it. Hang in for a little bit, yeah? It's only the first game.
  23. Hmmm. Maybe? ….or is Hammy’s name pronunciation getting so bad he can’t get Bryson and Byram straight? 😂
  24. Is it because they bumped Byram up into Norris' spot on PP1?
  25. That's right, it usually only comes out for the opener and playoffs. It's been collecting dust...Gilbert signed the inside of it about 20 years ago inside the arena.
  26. I am sure that makes Byram happy. Wonder if he regrets re-signing with this $hit$how?
