  1. Past hour
  2. Not surprising to anyone I'm sure, he's one of the best players in the world.
  3. Making the playoffs is a year over year enterprise The average time spent out of the playoffs is one year. Being “years away” is a job security sales tactic, im sort of surprised more don’t realize that by now. Long rebuilds aren’t actually a thing - that’s nhl ea sports GM mode fodder. The nhl is a professional league not developmental: no one should fall for that. The few and far between “decade long” rebuilds we’ve seen are the exceptions that prove the rule - another term that should be frankly more familiar they Sabres haven’t made the playoffs because they haven’t chosen to. They’ve yet to make it the priority. people get there’s an active conflict of interest with the fans, right? The organization hasn’t had the same goals trading Dahlin only helps if you trade him for better players. And it only helps even then if you don’t care about, ya know…..THE most precious resource known to mankind in Time
  4. ALL OVER the possibility of adding Robertson. Want nothing to do with Petterson. He MIGHT turn it around. But does anybody believe that if Adams is the guy that is expecting it and not, for examples's sake, a Zito that the bet will pan out?
  5. Today
  6. Whoops, I didn't expand on that enough. My bad. By full potential I meant -- when they drafted him if he had achieved his maximum homerun swing potential, maybe even grew another inch or two, and basically was a diamond in the rough. I agree: now his ceiling is a responsible 3W with an above-average shot, which can be a good player -- like an Evan Rodrigues (who floats up the lineup without any problems) and should never cost you that much in salary unless you sign him UFA the season after he wins a Cup and has several clutch moments and your team needs "winners" and "leadership".
  7. Actually, they should consider it. Unless this team surprises us with a huge jump in production or they add some really compelling players, they are likely still several years away from even sniffing the playoffs. By the time they do, the window for them to win it with Dahlin here will be closing. He's a UFA summer of 2032, which isn't that long from now. The cost to keep him will be substantial. Probably too high to even entertain. Trading him now while he still has term could net a return that would reshape the franchise overnight...
  8. It’s a moot point. Turns out GB didn’t qualify- I was mixing up olympics and the IIHF worlds.
  9. Pettersson is a damaged 1C (being shopped???) before the NMC kicks in on a ton of money and term. He is very much like Eichel pre-surgery in Buffalo. The difference is that Vegas was a bona fide Cup contender and was missing a 1C. The Sabres are a draft lottery that was a strong-run-down-the-stretch away from picking #4 overall instead of #9. Pettersson doesn't solve all their problems and his repaired knee means he'll likely never have the burst he once did. This guy is not "Taylor Hall makes us contenders!" level. For $11.6M and 7 more years, I need the player to be the best player on the team and set the tone night-in and night-out. I don't think EP is that guy. I'd rather use pick #9 on McQueen, Martin, Bear than use it + Norris to acquire Pettersson.
  10. Will Petterson skate through a wall to win a playoff game? Will he at least skate into the wall to try?
  11. Part of me wants to see petterson and Dahlin on the PP though. Could be awesome. but a huge risk
  12. You are acting as if this concept is new. All of the Sabres good players are going to leave. It’s not a matter of “if” it’s just matter of “when”. Frankly, I’m ready for this franchise to fold or leave. We hate them. They act like they hate us. Just be done with it already.
  13. He’ll be next to ask to get out. I would have a long time ago if I was any player or prospect. I’d go so far to tell them pre draft don’t bother drafting me to you poverty loser franchise. Did they already play?
  14. Trade him while his value is high!
  15. Good to see Dalhin will get some winning under his belt. Even though they won't win gold.
  16. Just reading about the Aeros AHL days on Wikipedia and boy did the team and fans get screwed by the Houston Rockets ownership group forcing their relocation.
  17. Barrasso, Lawton, LaFontaine. (5, 1, 3) Yep. The 3 highly drafted Yanks.
  18. Is that LaFontaine on the right? Assuming yes, this must be the 1983 draft. Brian Lawton went #1 to Minnesota and he’s in the middle. So I guess this is Barrasso in the Sabres jersey.
  19. My google of "what date is NHL draft" returned this image at the top; I can't place it. Help?
  20. I never understand your sports. Olympics: Four countries, but you call yourselves GB and not UK. Cricket: England and Wales are together but the others are separate. Soccer: All of them are separate. Some other sports: Ireland and NI are a unified team, but GB is still split into three. Can you get your king or minister of magic or whatever to fix this? It is confusing.
  21. No thx, no interest in trading him to Ottawa and letting him light up with his fellow German in Stutzle
  22. Could have been the Buffalo Brownfield Beach Parties? I caught Buffalo's Mallwalkers a couple times a decade ago or so. They were fun. And loud.
  23. GB still has a chance to qualify for the Olympics?
  24. Ah yes, the Houston Toxic Beaches
  25. I don’t think so, too much time has passed. Most people don’t know the origin; that the team was originally going to be the Dayton Aeros as tribute to Ohio’s aviation history. They will pick a name relevant to Houston and Texas.
