  1. Past hour
  2. It would be a mistake to make a trade just to demonstrate that you are doing something. That’s when you make a bad deal. I’m not looking for flashy actions as I am more demonstrations of thoughtfulness and competency. The offseason is the time to make deals that restructure the roster. However, a change in GMs will be a clear sign to the players that changes will be made and the status quo will no longer be tolerated. And I’m sure most of the players will appreciate that.
  3. I retired. At the end of an exhausting career there was a boss who was the #2 man in a relatively large agency acting like a cartoon dictator and being obnoxious and condescending in his presentation. There were a lot of big shots at the gathering. During his bloviating I stood up and interrupted his public display of stupidity and politely asked him if he recognized how stupid he sounded? The audience went dead silent. He was a big fellow who went to an NFL training camp. He wanted to kill me for humiliating him. I was at the end of my career. Needless to say, I had to watch my back.
  4. I know we all want to see a Game of Thrones-style walk of shame for Kevy but I refer you to Matthew Fairburn from the Athletic more or less predicting an orderly transition from Adams to Kekalainen for weeks now. The actual moment may will be rather anti-climactic.
  5. The dreaded possible third win in a row. We might be dead last in the East, but we'd be 5th from the bottom in the West. Very different over there.
  6. I have to agree with that statement. If people here think that win was "character building" and a start towards respectability, a better hockey club (because the Canucks stink, like Calgary does and St. Louis does) destroys Buffalo in the 3rd period. Yes, it's nice to get a win but watching that gives me no hope of any "turnaround" in this hockey club. They hung on and Alex Lyon gave them a "Hasek-like" performance God bless him. 2 shots on goal and trying to protect a one goal lead? Same old, same old. A long long road ahead still. Kracken coming right up to which the Sabres are 1-7 since Seattle entered the league. Let's see what that outcome is.
  7. Good question. Just asked Perplexity. ”Yes. The Buffalo Sabres have beaten the Seattle Kraken at least once; their first and (so far) only win was a 6–2 road victory in Seattle on March 18, 2024.[champsorchumps +2] Overall record Head-to-head, the Sabres are 1–7 against the Kraken in regular-season play, with the lone win coming in that March 18, 2024 game.” Ok. Let’s make it 2! Go Sabres!
  8. Have the Sabres ever beaten Seattle yet? I just looked it up, they are 1-7 vs. the Kracken. Tall order coming up.
  9. Great poll. I voted Other. Too many boneheaded decisions by Adams to choose any one as the worst. Declaring with great fanfare the playoffs were the goal a couple years ago and then failing to make the moves to achieve it just made it worse. Any other owner would have canned him, imo.
  10. Maybe he’s a golf nut and wanted to be near St Andrews? This isn’t the time of year to enjoy the links though.
  11. Today
  12. Last night was an example of how being outplayed doesn’t have to mean being out worked. The Sabres were outplayed. The Canucks had the puck, the zone time, the scoring chances. But the Sabres worked their butts off to defend the lead. It wasn’t pretty, but it was the sort of win you need to get on the road, in game 5 of a 6 game trip, with a depleted roster. No complaints. They all can’t be master pieces.
  13. First regulation road win of the year in Game 31! By far the latest in the season that has occurred in franchise history.
  14. Best case scenario is we beat Seattle, come home on a three game win streak that keeps us in the mix (barely), on Monday Adams is reassigned in the organization, Jarmo takes over as GM and promptly makes a trade that signals there is a new Sheriff in town, and that sparks the team on a run.
  15. Have an early morning appointment, so went to bed after the 2nd period. Just watched the final 20 minutes. Sabres went into Alamo mode with no attack. Left Lyon to fend for himself. Lyon was fantastic. Kept us in the game. Remarkably, Sabres didn’t give the game away in the final few minutes. Timmons is a liability on the ice. Turnover Machine. Seen enough of him. Two wins in a row, and on the road. Have two days to get ready for Seattle. Chance to extend the winning streak and finish the road trip even up 3-3. Would be huge after losing the first two. Expecting Zucker, Tuch, and Norris back in the lineup.
  16. I voted other. The ever constant failure to address goaltending
  17. It would take a three page poll to list all of his failures
  18. I just picture Adams locked in his office furiously cobbling together one final power point presentation to show Terry in hopes of saving his job again. Back to Back road wins in Western Canada highlighted with the caption “I’ll Fire Anyone you want and Save You Every Penny You Need. Please Mr Pegula Let Me Stay!”
  19. I was "promoted" to an admin position last summer (long story r/t a misdiagnosed detached retina...). I have the privilege of sitting in on admin meetings, and you are 100% correct, regarding communication skills 😬 $hit's getting TERRIBLE out there....
  20. Cost the team net two goals tonight. The other night, he had the penalty on the PK causing them to play 5-3. offside when Tage scored then reversed on a coaches challenge. He is absolutely not earning his pay this year. I was not a fan of the trade, and I was ambivalent about resigning him. Only b/c I hated the alternative of having a rookie take that spot. He had the second worst xGA. Worst was…wait for it, Timmons. That dude has fallen off a cliff. Greenwayregistered one hit and had one very good blocked shot at the end. The injuries and poor play coupled with a $4m salary makes me hate Adams that much more. Untradeable at this point. Unless there a drastic change I’m done too.
  21. Good for him if true…. UK sports fans won’t let him forget though. He will get hounded relentlessly.
