  1. Past hour
  2. I'm sure his agent already has a potential contract written up that specifically states Buffalo is a team he will not be traded to. I'd love it, but doubt he comes here.
  3. Am I right in thinking we don’t have our 2026 2nd rounder making talks of offer sheet pretty pointless.
  4. This group and what goalie?
  5. As my kids would say (although they're increasingly far from "kids"): "Go touch grass."
  6. To a cup? If we are lucky. Maybe next season a trip to the playoffs where this group has zero experience in, so I'd be surprised if they won a series against a team with playoff experience. The season after that maybe a nice playoff run. After that who knows. So I'd say this group is at least four years away from a legit shot at the Cup. I do not see how that timeline gets accelerated much. But I am wrong a lot, so ...
  7. Former poster Yuri is working on it.
  8. Ekblad is UFA as is Bennett. We need players like this.
  9. So five more years then?
  10. They are a young team. Young teams don't win in NHL. The average team winning the cup is like five years older than the current Sabres team. Why are there so many Sabres throw aways in the league doing pretty well? Because they were discarded when young. Heck, many people want to throw away Power and Benson just like many people were yelping to get rid of no good Dahlin a few years ago. Or how getting rid of Samson and Jack would change the mind set of the team or whatever. Just buckle up, sit back and let this core get more experience and add and subtract on a moderate basis and hope this group matures into a good team. For the love of God though, do not blow up the team again
  11. Yeah. Bring in Ekblad and McKinnon and Oettinger. That will help a lot.
  12. Sabres make the playoffs in the 2010-11 season. August 2011, Adams joins the coaching staff. No playoffs since. He is a master of the negative Concept of the Cup. It’s been the rise of Emperor Sheevyn at the expense of the franchise. He doesn’t have to own it. It’s all he’s ever known.
  13. OK @JohnC, you have to admit that (Adams + Lou) > (Adams + nothing). You cannot just discount Lou's record because he is 82, even his last stop at Long Island was far more successful than that of Kevyn Adams. I am not sold on Lou necessarily, but I think they need more and better leadership experience in the FO. And no way is Terry Pegula a crook like Dan Snyder. A bad hockey owner, yes, but not a Dan Snyder type.
  14. He just pulls numbers out of his a$$ and his delusional followers just lap it all up.
  15. An absolute wagon.
  16. The wedding is just an event. There’s a ton happening for the character. She’s selling her daughter to finance her project, she’s deciding a price to keep her childhood friend and partner silent about the project, and the one person she can’t be seen with publicly is right there front and center with a lavish gift.
  17. Today
  18. Good for them. They got to attend a playoff game.
  19. I was looking at it from the Panthers side and was wowed by their lack of let up late in the 3rd with a huge lead. Very impressive. What a culture.
  20. I don't think I have ever seen a team playing at home, with the series even at 2-2, and the game still close, just quit like the Toronto Maple Leaves did last night. The players quit, the fans quit, the organ player quit, the people generating noise/music quit, I'll bet the beer sales guys quit too. As soon as they fell two goals behind they quit playing and the fans stopped cheering and that was that.
  21. Might be a blessing the Amerks let in 5 goals in front of the brain trust.
  22. I just think these guys give them way too much respect without making their lives difficult, you want to beat them then you punish them every chance you get, make them earn that space!
  23. it was interesting that nearly all the braintrust was there together: Terry, Adams, Lindy, Ventura, Staal, Guelli, Appert, another guy I recognized as a member of the analytics department. But no Karmanos, the guy who is actually most responsible for the team on the ice. Maybe he was in the bathroom lineup?
  24. This isn't the NFL. That won't happen. Im not sold on Martone being some physical force. Martin and Bear are.
  25. Did the people who think Terry is checked out on the Sabres and just doesn't care beyond EEE see him in Rochester last night? What only-in-it-for-the-money billionaire leaves his yacht and travels halfway across the country to Rochester to sit in a box with his employees to watch the prospects of the team he doesn't care about? He's as checked in as any of us on Sabrespace and more than some.
