  2. I've been thinking about Jarmo's perspective on this. He got canned by CBJ in February of 2024, which gave him 1.5 seasons, and 2 off-seasons, to get a GM job. When he didn't get one, he took the Sabres' gig at the end of May of 2025. He almost certainly still wants to be a GM somewhere, which is why he took this job -- i.e. it was pretty obvious that KA was running out of chances, and this job would put him in the on-deck circle if KA were to be fired. But still: he has to know that if the only change is KA out, Jarmo in -- he is doomed to fail, and probably won't ever get another shot at a GM job. So, would he take the job under those conditions, because it's a bird in the hand, albeit a crippled and decrepit bird? Or would he say thanks but no thanks and go home to cool his heels and wash off the Sabres stink until a better opportunity comes along? Or: is he perhaps negotiating, even as we speak, the terms -- salary cap spend, front office turnover, coaching staff turnover -- under which he will agree to take the job? And if so, does TP maybe want no part of a GM search, and does he maybe want Jarmo to take this mess off his hands and restore his good name in the NHL enough, to give Jarmo enough of what he needs to get Jarmo to take the job? I'm guessing this is what is going on -- TP wants Jarmo to take the job and they are negotiating the terms. Jarmo knows he can't overplay his hand, but at the same time he doesn't want to step into an unworkable situation. Please give him what he wants Terry. We're still here on your team's message board after a ridiculous number of terrible years. At this point you kinda owe us a real GM with a real budget.
  3. So you wanted us to trade UPL for jarry or skinner? Crap for crap trade is all this is.
  4. In the NHL, Injured Reserve (IR) is a roster status for players unable to play due to injury or illness, allowing their team to call up a replacement player while the injured player misses a minimum of seven days but can still practice/travel. Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) is for more severe injuries (missing 10 games/24 days) and provides teams with temporary salary cap relief, letting them exceed the cap by the injured player's hit. While IR doesn't affect the cap, LTIR's main purpose is cap management, not removing the player's salary from the books, but allowing spending up to that amount.

  6. The Canucks have one talent: Hustle. Beyond that, they're not very good. In the first period they threw everything they could at the Sabres and the Canucks were fortunate to get out of the period tied. As the second period wore on, the Sabres seemed to adjust the constant pressure and learned to counter it, scoring two goals to go ahead. In the third they stopped trying to score which was a mistake. My frustration wasn't focused so much on how much play was in the Sabres end; it was more that the Sabres weren't playing in Vancouver's end. They were content to get it out of the zone and regroup instead of counterstriking. They were also lazy at times even clearing it out of their own end. I thought it was a big mistake but in the end, they got away with it. That kind of prevent defense/Alamo mode of play is just playing with fire. You just know the other team will score eventually. But the Canucks aren't the Oilers; they just don't have the same level of scoring talent.
  7. I have no clue what the owner will do regarding the staffing issue. He doesn't publicly express his thoughts. What I do know as an indisputable fact is that the current GM, who has guided a rebuild for the past six years, has this team at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and in the lower 20% for overall. That's not a record of a successful rebuild; it is a record of abject failure. It's a disgrace and an embarrassment for this mocked franchise to be here at what should be a completed or near completed stage of a rebuild. Your record is your record and can't be ignored. If the owner is not going to hold his employees to a reasonable standard, then who is?
  8. When I think about this it may make sense in that the new GM gets a short time to evaluate what he has and what is available before he pulls the trigger on a move. I have been so upset at this organization and its face (KA) that I cannot find any empathy for him to lose his job at Christmas. He is well off and has been paid way above his skill set for 5+ years.
  9. Or even worse... its BS ... can you imagine the melt down on this board if nothing happens... it would almost be worth it to see ... ok maybe not... but can you imagine the absolute loss of $hit ... I mean a billboard would definitely be in play lol
  10. Timmins does a lot of good things; plays a good, physical game. But the gaffs cancel out all the good he does.
  11. I just did my car's first service today, basically an oil change and inspection. They set the appointment up when I bought the car in June. Over the last couple weeks I received three "courtesy call" reminders about the appointment. The second one said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I note that in our records." The third one said the same. And when she did I responded, "That what the last girl said." I might actually respond to the survey (I usually blow those off) just to roast them about all the reminders.
  12. The leak is not the bungle. I have never seen rumours a GM is to be fired and 36 hours later they are still actively GM. The bungle is the entire way and timing this is being handled. By timing I mean, 36 hours, time in season, nearing Christmas (when trades don't happen).
  13. No, Bella Sicilia was there before Roma's even existed. Roma's Restaurant was in the building that is now 33 Speakeasy at 3455 Genesee in Cheektowaga. My parents lived a few blocks south of there.
  14. Exactly - I am as mad as anybody about this team but leaks happen all the time before a firing or hiring - their entire team is out of town and no one this to happen til they are back. Thats not a bungle …
  15. I didn't think this was a concern. 90% of the "facts" about the Sabres are just things people speculate. Unreachable by you and me, sure. I thought he was joined to Kevyn's hip?
  16. His signature transaction is the opposite
  17. Looking at the rosters of the NHL teams that are consistently in the playoffs, and particularly teams that are often contending, in most cases you will find a top-level player (or several) who was acquired for pieces. That is, they acquired the proverbial dollar in exchange for the proverbial 3 quarters. This may be the biggest failure of Adams as a GM. He has certainly traded a couple of dollars for a few, comparative, quarters, and he has managed to trade a few quarters for other quarters, but he has not found a way to pull off the Sabre version of the 3 quarters for a dollar trade.
  18. That's about the size of it. Just tired of hearing about Skinners play so switch it up. The results could go either way.
  19. I chose the Power extension, although there have been so many worst moves he’s made. But that extension is going to be a cap killer for years yet to come given Power’s consistent lackluster progress. 8+ million for years, 🤮
  20. You could combine the handling of goaltending with the UPL extension. That was his answer to handling the position. He signed his guy and cleared the dining room table. Mission accomplished for him. You should vote there if you want to point to the crease as his biggest blunder.
  21. Isn't it time for Levi now? Our supply of average Goal tenders is running low...
  22. No it’s not. It’s literally been suggested there’s no point in canning the GM if nothing else changes. I’ve explained why I disagree both practically for how and why it could help the team and also personally Adams isn’t just a symptom. He’s also cause
  23. That's a straw man. KA is the gangrenous toe. Terry is the uncontrolled diabetus.
  24. I love stupid messages from car dealerships trying to trick you into trading in your car. This one says “it’s wonderful that your car has been paid off”. It then goes on to say with a trade in I could lower my payments by up to $23. So since I currently have no payment, does that mean they’ll pay me monthly to get a new car? Lowering my $0 monthly payment is very impressive.
  25. So let's talk about Matt Ellis' reign as GM. He and Rayzor would be wearing matching outfits every day (portrait of the other one on a shirt). All of our lines are a 4th line. Slowest team in the league by far. By the fourth game of the year, the fans campaign outside Kevyn's house to beg him to come back
