Thoughts After the Death of Charlie Kirk
SABRES 0311 replied to Taro T's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Stephen A’s thoughts on Charlie Kirk’s death and people celebrating it. I never really listened to a Kirk video but the little I saw he did to use peaceful debating. He made people defend their views instead of repeating wave tops from social media platforms. Never really listened to Stephen A either but this video caught my attention on FB. - Today

Yeah, seem to be a well run and well supported team. Always great when they come down to Glasgow over the festive period usually Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve. They bring a rowdy away support so the Arena is bouncing.
-
Nah, you missed my post in the other thread. It was my good news positivity post for the Sabres. After watching the Bruins today I think it's almost certain the Sabres will not be last in the division. So you can celebrate.

I don’t remember do we do GDTs for preseason?
-
I had my wedding reception there years ago.
-
Well, I didn’t hear from Northern Kentucky so Dudacek you’re in.
-
Yep, IIRC none of the assistant coaches were brought in by Ruff. He had to take what was already there.
-
The shooting at the golf course? Disgruntled ex-employee apparently. I'm about 30 miles away. Believe what you want. I don't care.
-
I probably shouldn’t have gone off topic, but I was asking because of the Nashua news.

They will partly be the issue, but Kesselring most frequent partner last season was Ian Cole. Cole is a stay at home defender who back stopped Kesselring. Now we are likely putting Kesselring with a O first partner in Power and asking Kesselring to back stop Power when he F's up. What could possibly go wrong? I think you are putting to much faith in Kesselring's ability to adjust to a new system and a defensively inept partner in Power.

You wanna buy the "we had to go to Europe!" Excuse, go for it. It's bull hockey and I'd bet money that if Buffalo had squeeked into the playoffs last year, we'd be hearing about how great the Europe trip was for team bonding or some nonsense. If one of the most experienced coaches in the league wants to use the excuse that they didn't get a full camp so that's why the lost 13 games in a row 6 weeks later, all the power to Lindy.
-
God, please for the love of all things holy, let me be wrong. Please.
-
I don’t think anyone would be happier to be wrong about his goaltending prediction than @LGR4GM.
-
Except it's not really the "same old stuff." Ruff is finally getting a full camp, not shuttling off to Europe in a rush. Most here would scoff at that mattering, just like the scoff at anything the Sabres do.

Yet Another Example of Fascist Behavior

Nope. Can’t have bribery probes of your border czar, now can we. Go after political enemies for no reason, but gotta shut down any probe with legitimate aims. https://apple.news/AeNEuSf91SoeDp3GM3KQ9jw -
IMO you bring up valid points and I think it’s valid to let them outweigh the hope for this team. A lot of people feel renewed optimism right before a season begins. In the case of the Sabres there has been too much mismanagement to think anything will be different. My view is the defense is better on paper and everything else is reshuffling deck chairs. Likely the organization is going to hope things just work out instead of getting proven players for roles. Same old stuff with likely same old results until proven otherwise.

Good heavens. Best wishes. Hopefully the Bruins treat you right.

Is it? Some folks would rather be right. I don't spend my day being negative.

Jason Robertson rumored to be on the trade block
Huckleberry replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, when we drafted him, I had something on my mind of the Anaheim ducks having Pronger - Niedermayer on their defence winning the cup. -
Krueger's handling of the multi-talented Dahlin has to be the worst coaching stifling effect on a player that I have seen. Once Granato took over it was like an immediate liberation of an imprisoned player. The lesson to be learned is that when you hire a charlatan you get a charlatan.

Regarding those other GMs, you may be assuming that Adams and Co. would trade him in the first place if they all came knocking nor do we know what his perceived potential is by other GMs around the league anyway. As for what everyone here would package him with and for whom, while amusing, it has no basis in reality at this point. My point about Power is this: while it’s nice that he might help fetch a player like Robertson, Robertson is fully formed and at his ceiling already. If Power reaches his ceiling, he will be every bit as good a Dman as Robertson is a forward and imo, Dmen that good are more valuable to a team. Agree entirely that Power needs to show improvement otherwise any point I have is moot.

Well here's something positive for the Sabres. After watching the Bruins today I'm pretty confident the Sabres won't finish last in the division.
