Adams won a Stanley cup, he saw what it takes... That makes it even more mind boggling that he can't seem to get it....like at all.

Anybody who's team usually loses so the other owners are happy is a terrific owner for Bettman. And they probably make more $ with a horrible team than any other market in the States would make if they had a horrible team. What's for a Commissioner not to like?

I agree, I've said I think we're one top 6 player short. I suppose where we disagree on semantics is, I think Norris was the top 6 add, but that we needed another.

As was brought up by myself in a bunch of others the other night, the most concerning thing that I’m seeing is just simply a lack of fire power on this team. Tage is definitely the most talented offensive player, but he’s a complementary piece, not somebody who can make it happen on his own like a true superstar game changer. And I’m saying that emphasizing that I do think Tage is truly special. But I just don’t see where the goals are going to come from at this point. Which is such a sad state of affairs, considering when things seem to be turning around a few years ago when we were scoring punches almost every night, it felt like the scoring would never be an issue going forward. To me, that’s the most disappointing part. So now we’re playing slightly better defensively as a team, but we have nobody to put the puck in the net essentially. I think that’s the most damning thing with Adams. We had the scoring to the tune of what was it a top three scoring team or top five for sure, and now it seems like we have a team full of grinders who actually still can’t even get messy in front of the net like we need. I remember saying a few years ago to people that they were at least fun to watch and it was the first time in so long that I was excited. I just don’t see what there is to be excited for about this team unfortunately. I’m obviously gonna watch as much as I can stomach, but I just don’t see enough fire power for us to even compete. I think we’re doing more things right, but now we’re lacking the scoring talent that we already had on the roster less than three years ago. I think there were some overreactions about how we played the other night— we actually played pretty well for the most part in my opinion and Lyon was genuinely stout in net until the last couple minutes, and yes Igor might be the best goalie in the league, but I knew we weren’t gonna get a goal. I think a lot of us knew. The only way for this model to succeed at this point would be for us to have somebody like Igor. We obviously do not have that… Good luck to all of us this year. I’ll just say that.

Kekalainen, while having Zito under him, did a fantastic job in C-bus. Personally expect a significant portion of that was Zito, but Jarmo MIGHT be good in his own right. You have him in house; if you've been leaning towards making him the next GM while bumping Adams up should things have gone well this year, bump him into Adams role now and find out what you have. If they bring in an outsider this off-season, Kekalainen is likely gone anyhow, so there really isn't anything lost by making the Jarmo portion of the move now. And does it matter whether it's Adams moving players or Jarmo moving players if a different guy is brought in after the season? MHO they're essentially equivalent on that front. But, like stated already, if you give Jarmo a chance now (or Karmanos for that matter), you have nearly an entire season to see how he operates when the man and you'll get an idea through a trade or 2 ahead of the deadline and then deadline day to find out just what you have in him. And, no, they won't do a thing now. But they SHOULD. (Of course that was true the day they were eliminated last season.)

I feel bad for Norris, but the fumbling of this roster construction is again at the feet of the front office led by that goof Adams. I'd rather see Östlund all year for the remainder.

Show some push tonight. Game 1 was awfully pitiful. Shake off w/e rust you have and push forward.

Lets be honest here. For Bettman if you are part of the 1% i.e. a billionaire, you are the man. In Pegulas case he can’t get out of his own way and he puts his trust in yes men. Certainly not in alphas who have proven they know their way around this league and have had success.

After taking a year off from watching hockey, I've been enjoying just watching in general. The St Louis v Calgary game has been fun. I love the Flames play style for sure.

I feel you guys a are talking out of anger rather than being strategic and finding the best person. The anyone can do better comments didn't work replacing Murray or Boterill either. If Terry has a replacement in mind right now then fine, fire Adams yesterday. If he plans on looking around and interviewing people then he has two choices. One is to wait until he finds that person (which is possibly year end but doesn't have to be), and two is to fire Adams and assign an interim GM from the current staff. If you do the second, are he letting the interim GM (most likely Jarmo) move players? That could be a problem for the next guy. If he just wants to jump to Jarmo right now he runs the risk on missing other candidates. Terry will not do a thing, at least not for awhile.

Zero faith in this organization and team. But happy to watch hockey win or lose

Caught the 1st period while driving thru NC and I gotta say the Amerks are once again taking it to the Marlies. 0-0 after one but we spent nearly the entire period in there zone. L
