  2. That Sabres logo had an eyebrow instead of a horn.
  3. Landeskog has to be a big surprise in that list. But then again, do these list really mean anything at all? They can change these people out easily enough.
  4. Everybody (except @JohnC) wants massive changes. Nobody (except @terrypegula) wants Kevyn Adams to make them. I suspect what’s coming will not be warmly received by Sabrespace because it will involve hyped pieces being moved for less-hyped pieces by an untrustworthy GM. That’s what happens when you move talent for roster construction and that’s what you’re asking them to do. If it happens, trading your #2 D and your 1LW a few months after swapping out your 2C in would be among the most significant transformations this team has made in a short period in its history, meaning hockey trades, not sell-offs. It’s certainly not Eichel ROR Lehner Kane and Bogisian, or Lafontaine Hawerchuk level. But it does represent meaningful change. Im not confident we’ll be better in a month but I’m starting to believe we’ll be different.
  5. Happy "the Cup is in the building" camera shots day to you and yours!
  6. Please once the Sabres make it to the playoffs again the Arena will get packed again, as a life long Buffalonian I hate to say it but most fans are frontrunners and show the Buffalove when teams win, see Bills and Bandits always selling out. Sabres well we can only take so much losing. Heck I've stopped watching them on tv on a regular basis.

  8. I've tried to be open-minded about the JJP trade discussion. I've leaned toward keeping him because I see more upside from him and was tired of seeing our young players prospering with other teams. I now have come to a position where I'm steadfastly against dealing him. It is now a hard no for me. Many people make the argument that the organization has to alter its roster just to shake things up. I agree with that sentiment. But moving out young players who are already producing and are at an age where there is much more talent to tap into doesn't make sense to me. There is no question that JJP and other young players need to be more responsible in the defensive side of the game. And it is up to the coaching and the players to work to become better all-around players. So on the trade JJP discussion I'm on the hard no side of the argument. I'm attaching a Buffalo News link, Mike Harrington column on this issue. It may not be available for everyone because of the pay requirements. https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nhl/sabres/article_b2b6a614-e834-4784-ba99-6d3f7eee9394.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
  9. It’s actually a young @darksabre
  10. Indeed. From the great WWII epic, Kelly's Heroes starring Clint Eastwood.
  11. I just don't think Pettersson is the best player they could add, by trade or by free agency. I think he'll have good seasons but his career best is already past and his solid value production days are another contract into the future. In between he'll be a Matt Duchene or a Ryan Johanson. Good players... but overpaid, and if you really overpaid them, then you'll be sorely disappointed.
  12. So... move Power or Samuelsson (or buy him out while he's so cheap). The finances will work. In 2 years, at the halfway point of Dahlin's contract, his percentage of the cap will be 9.69%, which is very close to what Hedman's cap percentage was when Tampa won their back-to-back Cups (9.66% with a $7.875M salary to 81.5 cap ceiling. After that there will be 4 more seasons where the cap could be even higher with expansion. The resources will be there. Now, whether Adams/Pegula can effectively put that cap to reasonable use for the rest of the roster, I'll agree with you there. But Dahlin making money isn't really a negative. The no one wins the Cup with a $10M/year salary days are long over; Eichel busted that. Then Bob did. And this year someone will do it again.
  13. Geezus, is that a young Donald?
  14. "Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?"
  15. I was talking to a guy who attended many OHL games this year. He thought that O’Brien did not really stand out. Misa and Schaefer had many WOW moments and were usually the best players on the ice. Martin was like a dog on a bone, he was relentless. Martone was big and effective but lacked the wow factor. Nothing new to hear but this continues to reinforce my take on some of the top guys.
  16. Adams has ***** up as hard as any GM has ever ***** up, he is as complete and total a failure as any executive in the history of pro sports and somehow STILL KEPT HIS JOB. This is not a serious organization.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Nah, 'cause that implies Houston actually gets a team.
  19. What about the Houston We Have a Problems.
  20. My personal preference is the Houston Never Existeds.
  21. Aero is also relevant to Houston. The space program was centered in Houston. I don’t care what they call them.
  22. Not a bit. I don't expect anyone to agree with it, because who would want to, but I don't see the Sabres contending at any point in Dahlin's tenure here.
  23. Is this a bit? If so it's boring.
  24. I think a healthy Dahlin nets you much more substantial parts than a critically injured Eichel. Dahlin, to me, poses a dilemma. This team is basically only good when he's on the ice. They depend on him so much it's crippling them. What Dahlin brings by making everyone around him better isn't a nice little bonus, it's a necessity. The Sabres, as currently constituted, could not hope to compete without him. We all agree on that. But I think he's such a drain on resources that they will probably never be able to really compete with him either. Especially with all of the money they have committed to Power and Samuelsson. Something has to give or they're never going to be able to build a team. They'll have a collection of nice pieces, but it'll never get them anywhere.
  25. I only meant a player "like" Greig. We need an ***** in our line up. Sorry, Greenway is not that.
  26. Take the full day. Screw the man. Also, always go to the bathroom on company time
  27. No it won't. We literally have done this before. How does Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a vet cap dump and a 1st turn around the franchise? The going rate is good roster player, good prospect, some bonus player, and a 1st rounder. That ain't turning around ***** when the only good defender is Dahlin. Awful idea.
