  1. Past hour
  2. I guess I am wondering... how many years of the exact same performance, the same exact lack luster, lazy, soft attitude, the focus on April tee times, blown leads to lose in OT, the dead last in the conference position, etc.... how may do we think that we need to see to realize that this is what this team is...? We have injuries every year... how do we get to I think we could be good... not I am not trying to hammer your thought... not at all , but from my perspective... I cite the definition of insanity, do the same thing over and over and expect a different result... I am sorry, I just cant see my way there... and I think further... we are edging closer to an internal issue as I believe players like Tuch, Thompson, Dahlin, Power, Levi, and looking at Kesselrings latests comments.... are just done with this garbage and abject incompetence and ineptitude of our FO and owner... and this situation will get much worse much much worse and take years and years to get better... there will be an absolute gutting of this team of any talented play with the knowledge that we are only getting table scraps for them and we have absolutely no ability to get new and talented players in here because our GM and Owner are so toxic and inept they make the NY Jets and Cleveland Browns look like geniuses
  3. This is a pet peeve of mine as well. I agree that most (maybe even 2/3 of) left-turning drivers on the WNY roads nowadays just sort of stay where they are when the light turns green and, with any luck, are able to take a left. I've been behind a few such drivers who don't even manage to take their left. Which is maddening. Capturing the intersection! Well, there you have it. I didn't know this practice had a name. It appears to be on its way out, anyway.
  4. He liked playing in a market new to hockey where everything was positive and also respects the fact that Buffalo has educated and more demanding fans. There's no reason to read anything negative into it unless you want to. If you're going to do this, and I have long thought it's a decent idea, the percentage is 100% and goes all the way to the mailroom. Everyone. No survivors.
  5. The assumption was Seth Appert was next in line. That's why he was brought up from Rochester after he got the Amerks to the AHL final four two years ago. But since he's been part of this debacle for 1½ seasons would going to Appert be enough of a change to jump start this moribund team? If Lindy were to be relieved of his duties mid-season, and you go with an interim for the rest of the year, who else could you promote other than Leone or Appert?
  6. I agree that Kesserling looks pretty terrible so far. While Doan was more than just a "throw in," Kesserling was still the major piece coming back in that deal. At this point, Doan is the much better asset and is saving the trade from being, at this point, a disaster for the Sabres. Kesserling may be fine in time, but the team is in such disarray right now that I don't see that happening anytime soon.
  7. Going to the game tonight. The tickets were free, it's in a suite and the drinks are free, and we will eat some overpriced but reasonably tasty arena food - so that's all good. But I expect the Avs to dominate early on and win going away. Upside: don't have to stay to the end and fight any traffic. I think it was last season (Jan 2025) where the Sabres choked in the 3rd and then lost in OT. My friend and I were predicting out loud what was going to happen with uncanny accuracy and the Avs fans around us kept looking at us like "how did you know?" Yeah, that was fun.
  8. This is the truth and I have said it before Pegula walked in here and in 14 years eradicated an entire generation of fans and set the brand back to a place that it is almost impossible to come back from... Like the Jack in the Box brand after the Ebola outbreak was maybe our equal...
  9. But that 3rd D pair included a guy whom our GM targeted for JJP, a legit top 6 forward with 40 goal potential. Doan who was apparently the sweetener, has been surprisingly good (except last night). And I know that Kesserling had Bryson with him but I’m sorry, if your target to be the guy who can stabilize Power and an anchor on the second pairing is reduced to third line minutes, is statistically playing like $hite, and looks lost at times it’s yet another failure for Kevyn. I had high expectations for this kid b/c of JJP and how Adams described him. Kevyn gets some credit for his UFA acquisition Timmons who has also surprised, and none for Mr. Glass who appears to have found his game at age 25. Timmons / Kesselring is one step forward, two steps back. Mule/Dahlin - the same.
  10. So Kesselring likes that fans are pretty critical? He likes "the other side of it" that is not nice and not positive? He's been hearing it from the guys who canceled the stick raise. Have the fans even booed as much this year?
  11. I realize that it's a small sample size, but I thought the team was playing better and starting to "find itself" prior to the recent rash of injuries and Dahlin's leave of absence. Since those things have happened, the team has lost all confidence. They know they can put forth their best effort and they still can't win, so why bother? They're mentally cooked and are just going through the motions. Yes, the injured players and Dahlin can come back and the team can regain its footing, but by that time, they'll be so far out of the race that it won't matter. I missed the 1st 2 periods last night. I joined the broadcast - the Utah broadcast - in the 2nd intermission and they were talking about how the Sabres had been the better team and had the lead. Then I watched the Sabres crap the bed for the entire 3rd period, looking completely lost and disjointed, while Utah skated circles around them. I don't have the answer, but I'm not a professional hockey coach, GM or executive. That said, neither are the guys running the Sabres right now. Somewhat unrelated - the Utah studio broadcast team was terrible - particularly between periods and after the game. They have a young guy who appears to be Eddie Olczyk's son (Nick) and a red headed woman. They're like high-school level broadcasters. I can't imagine Nick getting that job without his father's last name. It's much worse than Jac Collinsworth and Noah Eagle trading on their father's names on NBC. Jac is annoying, but somewhat competent and Eagle is actually decent. Olczyk is terrible. They make Duff and Biron look like world beaters.
  12. I am usually excited on game day. Not today. I feel this is happening ...
  13. Just for giggles... of pain. Let's play Sabre's mirror injuries on the Avalanche from opening night. LW1 (Benson), C1 (Norris), LW2 (Zucker), C3 (Kulich), C4 (Danforth), D1 (Dahlin) Out = Lehkonen, MacKinnon, Colton, Drury, Bardakov, Cale Makar Gabe Landeskog — Brock Nelson — Martin Necas Victor Olofsson — Gavin Brindley — Valeri Nichushkin Joel Kirivanta — Parker Kelly — Tristen Nielsen Taylor Makar — TJ Tynan — Daniil Gushchin Devon Toews — Brent Burns Josh Manson — Ilya Solovyov Jack Ahcan — Sam Malinski MacKenzie Blackwood Scott Wedgewood Now... That's the cup of a carpenter roster of a contender.
  14. Or two tickets to see the Sabres at the keybank center.
  15. I really enjoy this guy's online content. Great sense of humour, matched only by his obvious knowledge of the game (and its Canadian heritage). Give him a follow on whatever socials platform(s) you use! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRAND0UiZ4Q/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  16. This feels similar to the Bills against Miami last weekend where it should’ve been a mortal lock if you were betting for the Bills to continue their dominance against basically a shell of a Miami team. So yeah, I’m expecting a Sabres win haha … followed by a seven game losing streak against worse teams $25 is nothing to turn your nose up at. That’ll get you a big Mac and some cold fries and a medium Coke these days
  17. This feels like a game where the Sabres pull off a W in spite of themselves.
  18. Today
  19. That's EXACTLY what he's saying. There's no other reason to refer to Buffalo as a "hockey market."
  20. Mr. Kesselring. I pay your salary. I work a job 8+ hours a day 6 days a week to buy tickets, pay for the ability to watch tv and buy merchandise. The franchise you currently play for has been a depressing chaotic mess for the last 14 years. I will be critical whenever I want and boo you off the ice. My boss pays me a ridiculously good salary to achieve at a high level everyday and I expect the same from you everyday you get on the ice. Regards, Disgruntled Sabres fan
  21. We need to stop bringing in guys that even notice this stuff. They should be so freaking focused on improving on the ice that they don’t hear any noise. I honestly don’t know if this is a younger generation thing when they’re always on their phones and always on social media and hearing all the noise but this ***** is pathetic. Stay off social media and focus on your game. So sick of the whining from these guys. And we have no ability to evaluate players that can stay focused and hold themselves accountable and hold each other accountable
  22. I said this last night in the game thread— you really get a sense of the guys they bring in and how sensitive they are to criticism. It’s genuinely pathetic in my opinion. You guys absolutely suck. You don’t even play with enough effort. You lose puck battles and stop skating when you’re up 2 to 0. Leaving a goalie playing great hung out to dry to get lit up. and I also said this last year about how one of the core issues is how terrible they are at evaluating players psychologically. McKinnon has a bad reputation as being a psycho and being a jerk of a teammate essentially, but that comes with being one of the best players in the world and leading a team. You have to hold guys accountable and we see the same thing not happening with the Buffalo Bills. You have to have players that are willing to not be your best buddy 24/7/365. You’re either there to win and be truly great or you’re there to cash a check. All we have are cash checkers. Other than Benson honestly. These guys whining about being criticized is the most pathetic thing DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT KESSERLING
  23. I’m not getting any of this from that comment. Imo, he is merely saying that in Utah, the fans were just happy to have a team. In Buffalo, they are actually hockey fans.
