There's just no reason to justify it. I'd rather just decide the week or even day of and say "I want to go to a game". Ok great, it'll be cheaper if you wait and if they suck again you aren't stuck going to meaningless games that you overpaid for.
-
Why did it hit 97 today? Tomorrow will be 73...

And in year 24 for Buffalo, friggin' Hudson Fasching bounced a puck in off his knee keeping the Sabres 1 point out (2 technically because of tiebreakers) of the playoffs in a year that the conference's 8th place team made it to the Finals. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
-
There is no realistic player transaction that the Sabres could make this off-season, that would have a more immediate impact than replacing Ruff with DeBoer.

And again, the Penn State connection raises the Bat Signal. And THIS GM seems to do what his owner wants unlike some in the past (Nylander fiasco, cough, cough, cough).

Didn't seem like tons of seats had opened up when they held their relocation event. Would say it was in the 100's of seats, not 1000's of seats. But really didn't look that closely at how much was available.

DeBoer has coached his teams (FLA, NJD, SJS, VEG [pre-Eichel], and DAL) to the following # of post-season games played: -, -, -, 24, -, -, -, 24, 6, 10, 20, -, 20, 19, -, 19, 19, 18 There are some playoff misses, especially early on with bad Florida. And SJS had a last-hurrah team, Vegas was very experienced rejects, and Dallas is stacked. But that's a surprising lack of first- and second-round exits. He gets good teams to the playoffs, and then he gets them to the Conference Final year-after-year-after-year. Ruff should be DeBoer's assistant coach.

Interesting! Id be interested in moving him if we got Adam Klapka and Kevin Bahl back in the trade Bahl is 24 6'6 230lbs right shot defensman who is an RFA, perfect partner for Owen Power, he was the main piece in the Jacob Markstrom deal from New Jersey so Lindy would know him Klapka is 24 6'8 235 lbs 4th line forward that hits everything that moves, he was one of Calgary's best players down the stretch, they just resigned him at 2 years 1.25 per year This is the kind of deal I would take for Peterka, it sends him out west and it solves so many holes for us. This deal would also bring back minimal cap so we could then go free agent hunting if we wanted to to get a vet to take Peterkas spot. The Byram deal would also open up cap that could be used elsewhere to add vets and salary to really help this team improve!

Unlikely. It basically gives them space to sign their two big RFAs Cuylle and Miller. Besides, the don't have their 2nd rounder next year, which they would need for a sheet between $7-11M AAV

I agree it is really slow. We just got back from Boston. Not exactly a city known for getting things done quickly..but the Seaport District...Its basically a brand new small city that has been build in the past 10-or-so years. All glass office towers, luxury apartments. Probably 15-20 (at least) 20+ floor buildings. Luxury apartments. Artwork and fountains along the street. Movie theaters, all kinds of restaurants, rooftop bars, brand new hotels, even some brand new subway stations (although its more of an underground electric bus). Yeah, I know Boston is bigger, but again, its not a city people are rushing to move to. And they took basically a bunch of abandoned warehouses and parking lots and turned it into a shiny new city about the same time, or less, than Canalside has been developed.

They'd have to pay him quite over the top
-
So, I haven't looked into the numbers that much, and maybe someone brought this up...but the Rangers were supposedly interested in Peterka, right? Is trading Kreider the start of moves to fee up money to put a decent sized/bigger offer sheet for Peterka?
-
We really have to wait until the draft / free agency peak is concluded to see if there's any generated excitement surrounding the team. They would have to be making some significant moves to be moving the needle. Keeping Adams around after 5 years of failure has to be hurting the bottom line. I moved back to Buffalo 5 years ago and I would love to start getting a 10 game package or something, but that's not going to happen until the team isn't a perennial trash fire.
-
It definitely included partial season packages, which inflates the numbers.....they aren't seeing any upticks. Im sure they are nervous just like every year

Friedman- Sabres looking to move prospects for players
KC Scouts replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
I haven't renewed and will not consider it until the dust settles from the off-season and training camp has begun..... -
I was at a game in April and during a TV time out they were showing a gratitude message on the jumbotron about people who had renewed their tickets and I recall the scrolling list being waaayyyyy longer than I expected considering the state of the team. That being said I have no idea how many people were actually on that list. More than 100, less than 10k.

Friedman- Sabres looking to move prospects for players
Scottysabres replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
There is an awful lot of chatter about the Sabres positioning themselves to make moves. The current core wanting to win now report, trade talk, it appears to be getting serious. i can’t say I’m confident yet, but I am interested. Waiting to see how this all plays out. If it looks promising after the dust settles, I may dip my toes back in to the season ticket pool again. -
Smith has sublime skating. He has decision making issues but he's got good size and plays physical. He works hard all over the ice and I don't think his offensive game has even scratched the surface. Outside of needing to refine his overall game, there's a ton to like in his package. At 6'4" 199lbs, there's a potential top pairing defender there.
-
Canalside! Do things ever move quickly in WNY? Aud was demolished over 15 years ago. The front half of the Aud footprint is still a big hole in the ground, and part of the back half is the steel frame of some retail/housing that has sat dormant for a couple of years thanks to a developer with no money(Sinatra) and a NYS agency(ECDHC) that doesn’t have the balls to yank the project away from him. 😡😡😡

Has anything been made public regarding STH(full, partial & mini) renewal rates for 25-26? Just curious as I don’t know what the Sabres are selling that the STH are buying? Has to be a tough job being in ticket sales for the Sabres.

2025 NHL Entry Draft Thread, Sabres Draft 9th
DarthEbriate replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Quick prospect aside in the draft thread: Osburn has a good opportunity with a very young Badgers squad the next two seasons -- he's their only incoming freshman defenseman this year and his offensive skills should earn him PP time this season, when compared against the returning members of the D-corps. As to NHL talent, their other NHL D prospects are Phelan and Schulz who are definitely not offensive studs. -
100%. But Adams doesn't HAVE to ALWAYS be associated with running the team. He could (dear Lord, PLEASE let this happen) get moved to a position running some other piece of Pegula's empire. Kevyn gets a promotion and we get a reprieve. (At least until we find it is was so that Jerry Forton gets to take over. 😢 )
-
I think @DarthEbriate is correct to add Johnson and Novikkv to the mix and agree with you on Osburn. The TLDR version is the Sabres are well-balanced in all positions in the pipeline, to the point that position this year is probably irrelevant. I’d take the best player available with size and/or edge and make that the theme of my entire draft. Plenty of that available at 9. And for the record, I would happy if the Sabres decide that is Smith.
