  1. Past hour
  2. Good question. Understand why the media folks use it, because seeing who's working through the drills together (aka a rush up the ice) is how they figure out which groupings are actually lines on that particular day. But no idea when it went from simply "lines" to guys taking "reps" together to "line rushes." When did "physicality" become a thing? Heck, when did we go from "noodles" to "pasta?"
  3. This is more of a personal problem than anything with the team TBH.
  4. Great to see Benson back! Hopefully Sammy is g2g by Thursday, and Power I really hope its just a rest day, if we are missing our entire second D pairing for any length of time that is going to really be devastating
  5. She's a Buffalo News reporter. Believe she replaced Lysowski.
  6. No idea at all who this person is, but here's what they said:
  7. Im pretty sure we called them that back way back when I played peewee. Maybe it's a regional thing?
  8. I've heard the term before, but I don't think it's out there that much. And honestly... I never use it because like you, I'm not sure exactly what the difference is. In general, I've never been a fan of the evolving nature of the language. We speak. New terms. New expressions. I'm in my late '40s now and I am not now... But I never was even thinking back to when I was a kid and a teenager.
  9. Here is the first time it was used in this forum. I feel like it’s a coaching term that fans / media adopted to sound smart.
  10. Last night's game is a pretty good microcosm of one of the big reasons I'm not a fan of the bills as much as I used to be. Almost anything other than a blowout victory is a disappointment. A loss to a team you were favored by as much as you were last night... Especially at home.. is a major, major downer for most fans and the community. I have always thought for a long time there are two ways to enjoy any season as a fan of any sport... To win the championship... Or to exceed expectations. Expectations are so high with this football team, for the season and week by week... That most games are going to lead to some kind of disappointment. It's just not as fun as seeing a lesser team work its way up the ladder. For me, the best years as a fan are those years where the bad team starts to show signs of Life.... Rather than when you have a top five team in the league, just bumping its head against the ceiling. I realize everyone doesn't view it the same way, but for me.. That's a large part of it.
  11. In basically one off-season, NE all but caught up to the Bills and have the better coaching staff. Another offseason and the Bills could be the 2nd best team in the division. Beane is wasting a hall of fame QBs career. This isn’t just because of one bad game, but we own the record for the first QB with the stats he has, to never make it to the SB. Unprecedented. Our window was the .13 second game. That should have been our year. The rest has been rinse and repeats of the same thing. Any objective fan can see the gaping flaws in both the roster and the coaching. Mediocre defense and WR’s. Allen has just covered up these things because he’s THAT GOOD. Our FO has not made good enough decisions to get us over the hump. Just the facts.
  12. Ok. Someone needs to explain when the term “line rushes” became popular to describe lines in the NHL. Definitely since after I joined the board. (Yes that’s almost 20 years ago) At some point everyone started using it. The internets aren’t much help. We weren’t calling line “rushes” in the 90’ or even early 2000’s. Then one day I hear / read Paul Hamilton dropping the term like everyone has just been using it.
  13. I’m not usually complain about refs guy but Shawn Hochuli has it in for the Bills. Every time he calls their games, the Bills are always the more penalized team. I look for a flag after any positive Buffalo play.
  14. I am willing to bet that is a result of doxxing. It proves my point that it is a serious concern. Why do you act the way you do on this site? I’m asking in the most general terms. You’re probably the most abrasive poster in the hockey threads. You demand people respond to your questions but don’t follow the same rules. You act like if both sides aren’t represented in a political post that there is some conspiracy. Most recently you act like what you post on here is somehow going to make you a target and got over dramatic. And you feel the need to announce when you will no longer participate in a thread, hockey and political. That’s attention seeking.
  15. Anyone have practice updates yet? Who is skating and isn't? and who is taking line rushes?
  16. Today
  17. I'm disputing that you can drive the owner to doing anything. I think Jack wanted out but he did sign a long term extension. Sam and Ullmark, I'm not sure it's a fact they wanted out. Montour, haha, oh no not Montour.
  18. Were you surprised the offense rallied to tie the game only to allow NE to come right back and win? Yes. I would not be surprised if they even contributed to how poorly the Bills played. Jarring. Dumb.
  19. Maye got some passes off that only players like Allen ever do. Don’t blame defense on that. They really only let up one drive down the field all game. Turnovers were killer
  20. I disagree...he is a force on the penalty kill and also does a lot of dirty work in the offensive zone.
  21. The D actually played pretty well. Yes, Diggs cooked them. It appeared they were unprepared for him working out of the slot as much as he did. And Tre White, bless his heart, is no longer an NFL calibre corner. Maye is a stud. The Bills' offence played terribly for most of the game. Beat Atlanta!
  22. D had no part in the loss this game. In was all offense and turnovers
  23. My biggest problem is now they’ll forever be associated with “the Diggs game”. Blech.
  24. With Dunne being sent down and Meyer only there on paper, we may not see another cut prior to opening night. If Kesselring, Greenway and UPL go on IR, they’re at 23. Johnson or Bryson will be the spare D, and Kozak and Geertsen the spare forwards.
  25. Bills lost twice last night. The first loss was those uniforms.
  26. The only thing Norris has to do to be better than Cozens is play. He’s a bonafide top 6 NHL talent. Dylan is a net negative. He made everyone worse that he played with. Quinn is a big question mark. I was his biggest supporter at one point but his transition to the NHL has been poor.
  27. The NHL establishment didn't lead him astray. As you point out, I'm sure he solicited opinions on who would be good candidates to staff his franchise. And I'm sure that a number of candidate suggestions were offered. But he was the one who made the selection/s. The problem is the manner in which he has structured the organization so that he would have a decisive say (maybe less so now) is what has weighed this franchise down. What has crippled this franchise is covered by your first two points: 1.) He thinks he knows the game and 2.) He gets infatuated with people he knows and likes. KA is an example of that last point.
