  1. Past hour
  2. If they lose tonight, I think that is the inflection point. Whether they move slow or fast from there, hard to say with how disinterested Terry seems in the day to day.
  3. I don't think this team is good enough to actually earn a win but they'll stumble into a few W's here or there by sheer luck. I can also see Mackinnon setting NHL records for goals and points earned in a single game / period.
  4. I don't think Matthew Barnaby is qualified to be the Sabres GM, either.
  5. But I do get to see McKinnon and Makar live. They are a treat.
  6. So far Timmins has played pretty well. Totally happy to have him get 3rd pair minutes, yet he looks like a guy who can move up to the 2nd pair/2nd pair minutes for a period of time and not hurt you too much. Also has the ability to fill in, in a pinch, if needed on the PP or PK. Happy with him so far. Coming from low expectations, but there are only 4-6 guys on this team I'm happy with so far.
  7. As long as he stops betting on sports.
  8. The Quinn line is gonna kill us... Who woulda thought that McLeod would be our No 1 center LOL Who woulda thought that McLeod would be our No 1 center LOL
  9. Personally would turn the reins over to Kekalainen and let him determine the disposition of the FO/scouts. Hopefully he'd lean towards more culling than keeping and fairly or not, want Forton gone but the rest would leave up to Jarmo. The coaching staff - punt them all but let Ruff take on some "advisory" role if you want to spare having fired him a 2nd time. And if somebody that seems to be clearly better than Jarmo gets cut free in the interim, grab him and thank Jarmo for his service.
  10. Anybody think Barnaby knows something or?
  11. Is the correct answer the Pegula kid that designed the BS hat? Seems on brand.
  12. Timmins has been better than him.
  13. I'm here to rubberneck this upcoming catastrophe.
  14. I honestly don’t believe this is possible. I have resigned myself to believing this team has started its annual 12 to 18 game losing streak early this season in earnest. I really do not see the Sabres winning another game until after the new year.
  15. Except, the outcome is a self fulfilling prophecy if you build a team around the continually injured and a bunch of kids. This is why it was easy to predict back in the summer. It may be slightly worse than expected but it's not unexpected. We have one outlier in Dahlin leave of absence. That could not have been predicted. Norris, Greenway, Zucker, are all players with continual injury history. Danforth is whatever as 4th liners are a dime a dozen. Kozak was the same. So you have injuries to Benson and Kulich. Every team is missing some guys. Tkachuks in Florida and Ottawa for example. Lindholm and Mittelstadt in Boston. Toronto might have just lost Matthews. Competition has injuries too. It's a lame but predictable excuse.
  16. Because he is neither. We wanted him to be a 2nd pair guy because of the trade.
  17. Stepping up. Yeah, injuries hurt your team, but who is, and who is not, 'stepping up' in the face of them? On Defense, Timmins is playing decent, and Samuelsson is having his best year in a while. Everyone else? They have all played bad, I'd say worst than last year (Power, for all that he takes from the fans, he is the CLOSEST beyond Timmons and Samuelsson to playing well, but its still not good enough.) Bryam, Dahlin, Kesserling, all have played bad at times. Forwards: Doan, Benson, Kozak and Dunne look like the only guys out there who even care what they look like. EVERYONE else has been more disappointing instead of 'stepping up. So to me the guys who look like they care, the guys who are outperforming what you expect of them, are Timmins, Samuelsson, Doan, Benson, Kozak and Dunn. Thats it. You would think a handful of the other guys would show you something, noticable, some effort, some play beyond what they have shown in the past. But I haven't seen it. I really think Tage is one of the top goal scorers in the league and have defended him from criticism on this board many times, but he's not doing it this year. Tuch? I'm more on the trade him rather than sign him side of things now.
  18. Oh I'm 100% in agreement with that. I'm just predicting what he will say, not agreeing with it. I wanted him gone last year. I never wanted him hired. I can't wait to see him go.
  19. Ottawa cleared the Norris cap hit for a newer, younger, healthy 2C. (Cozens' and Pinto's lines have alternated as 2nd this season, but Pinto gets 2 minutes more of ATOI per game this season, he's the 2C.)
  20. He was coming off of an injury, but he's played 7 games now. He needs to play better. -He has zero points. None. No goals, no assists. he's a -4 through just 7 games. -His corsi is 10 percentage points on the wrong side of even. Fenwick -6. Shots nearly -10. Actual goals for/allowed he's 20 percentage points below even. Hes negative in expected goals, negative in high danger chances, negative in pure scoring chances. -He hasn't been used on the PP. He's not even used all that much on the PK, so he's not giving you anything on special teams. -For me personally, take all of that away, and my 'eye test' doesn't see anything special. Its not based on his comment from last night, but in terms of his regular play he needs to step up. He's not playing like a top pair guy, he's not even playing like a 2nd pair guy.
  21. Today
  22. But I have watched the Sabres when both Dahlin and Benson are out of the lineup.
  23. I hear you. But my kid was in second grade, the last time the Sabres made the playoffs and he’s a big Sabre fan. He’s now a junior in college, that’s insane. something dramatic needs to change.
  24. This is the reaction Lance was looking for
