  2. That's a bummer. I also hate how vague they are on injuries and timelines. Hopefully not too many weeks, he's been a pleasant surprise. I'd rather he be in the lineup over Krebs or Malynstyn when he gets back. Maybe even centering the 3rd line with Quinn and Zucker with Krebs/Malynstyn/Greenway as the 4th. Although 3 goalies may make the roster gymnastics tougher if enough guys are healthy and taking up roster spots. I still want to waive Gersteen the first time we have to free up a spot that doesn't just require sending someone (Östlund) back to Rochester. But Östlund is probably going back for Greenway.
  3. They are on sale at the Sabres store for $20 for general public and $15 for STHers. My buddy went down and grabbed me one.
  4. Is the jersey only for those that bought the ticket package from the Sabres directly?
  5. Ruff confirmed Kesselring will make His Sabres Debut tonight
  6. What's wrong with Meertson Geertson?
  7. The 4th line is... rough. I'd MUCH rather have greenway than Dunne or Geertson. He also can kill penalties which allows someone like tuch to not have to do it.
  8. Its been a bit of a wait to see Kesselring... I am interested
  9. Peterka has 3 goals, 9 points, and is +9 in his first 10 games. That’s a 24 goal pace, and he isn’t getting much PP time.

  11. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/10/28/vietnam-america-halloween-trick-treat/ Holidays are windows into a new culture. When my family arrived in Texas 40 years ago, we learned this firsthand as new immigrants. The adults loved Thanksgiving, a day of gratitude centered on food and family, but for us kids, nothing compared to Halloween, a night of knocking on doors and getting candy, sometimes even a homemade cupcake, almost always offered with a smile. A year earlier, we had been living in Vietnam, where food was scarce and trust even scarcer under communist rule. Even as children, we knew to be cautious; anyone could be a spy for the government. Yet here, strangers handed out treats, and all I had to do was say a few words, a phrase that didn’t fully make sense. Other sights and sounds were equally puzzling. Toilet paper draped across trees — what for, and why waste something so precious? And pumpkins carved into jack-o’-lanterns — food used only for decoration? Having lived through severe food shortages under a communist government’s disastrous agricultural collectivization, I couldn’t fathom such extravagance, or that the pumpkins I was familiar with could grow so enormous, meant not to be eaten but simply admired. But most unsettling were the skeletons. In Vietnam, where ancestor worship is woven into Buddhist culture, the bones of the dead are treated with solemn reverence. A few years after my grandmother died, her remains were exhumed, the bones carefully washed and dried, and reburied in a family plot among other relatives. This second burial was meant to ensure that the dead found a lasting peace and could continue keeping a protective watch over the living. In America, seeing skeletons dangling from porches, some in silly hats, some dripped with fake blood, horrified me; the idea that they weren’t real and were merely decorations, casually accepted by everyone, was completely baffling.
  12. Yeah, i'm gonna head down for 430 or so, i hate paying arena prices for beer and id rather just have a couple and get a coke at the game. I forgot its "frozen frenzy" day, so every team in the league is in action which explains the weird start time.
  13. Upl's GSAx last year: -8.6 Reimer +8.0
  14. Taking my boy. Hope it's a good one. We might try to avoid doing dinner before in the DT area. Gonna be a long wait at most places.
  15. Context and nuance are not for everyone. Agreed though, now is not the time to worry about feelings and futures..
  16. I wanted to pair doan and mcleod, but assumed doan would have been playing down as a young player on line 4. Pleasantly surprised that those 2+tuch has become a thing, and it's probably been the most consistent line.
  17. I know! So stupid! I wanted to grab a drink at ballyhoo before the game so now i have to take a call in the car. It's also bills night so there's a free "jersey", so its going to take longer to get into the arena.
  18. Why not have it on a Saturday or Sunday? I suppose this time of year, competing with College Football & the NFL, the weekends would be tough. College Football has a pretty sizable hiatus between their regular season and playoff. Why not just wait until then? I'm sure hockey die hards will enjoy the experience regardless, I just think if you have a non-college football Saturday, you could have games starting at 11 am - 11pm, giving fans a chance to watch 4-5 complete games. Not a hodge podge of catching a period or two of about 3 games.
  19. It seems likel it's going to become a thing. And agree that it's a cool idea. Would prefer they'd do it on a winter's Saturday or Sunday. Whenever they choose their "national day of hockey" to be. They could spread the games out over the entire day; you'd still have significant overlap of games but with 10-12 hours of staggered start times rather than just 5 or so could get closer to 45 minutes between starts which would give people an opportunity to watch pretty much a period of every game without having to watch anything on delay if they wanted to do so. (Which ESPN and Rogers would hate as they wouldn't have the broadcast rights to all those games.)
  20. Makes sense in theory but "flipping between games" on a lot of smart TVs means leaving one streaming platform and going to another, waiting for all the buffering while they load and often watching a mandatory 2 minutes of ads while the game goes on. It would have worked better in the age of cable.
  21. What you’re saying is UPL is the best of an all time terrible lot featuring Comrie, Anderson, Tokarski, Dell, Reimer, Subban, Hutton, Houser, Johansson, and Levi. His xGSA is also buoyed by his one good season. What’s his xGSA without that season. -25, -30, worse? UPL is a below average goalie who needs to be moved so management can see if Ellis or Levi is the longterm answer in net.
  22. Wonder if the band's name might've hosed them in much the same way the Payola$ had issues getting radio play in the States at the height of the payola scandal in the record industry.
  23. I believe they started it last year and hope they continue it. Staggering the start times make so much sense so you can flip between games during intermissions.
