If Dahlin is traded I'm done holding onto my fan card. He's arguably the best player on the roster with Tage.

We lack a 1C/2C pending where we play Tage/Norris. To me we lack a 2nd line as I don't like Benson in the top 6 and Norris a major question mark as is Quinn. Would I trade JJP straight up for Rossi? No due to age and think Peterka the 2nd best goal scorer on the roster.

The attendance of their biggest attraction, the Amerks, averages around 6,000. So there is no justification for that large of a venue.

Two years ago Macceli had 57 points in 82 games, year before that 49 points in 64 games and in his rookie year 6 points in 23 games. To me McBain is another Marcus Foligno aka 3rd liner at best. We need scoring outside of TNT.

I think i wouldnt know how to react to be honest. Which probaby means its a fair deal. Like Edmonton trading Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson. I just dont think Dobson is anywhere close to the defensive player that Larsson is and was And also remember Jarmo has done this before trading Ryan Johansen for Seth Jones So i think this would make sense. It would just have to be step one of many steps of the off season

I think it's roughly fair value. Sabres may have to make a small add. I think Dobson is more-polished, less-toolsy right-handed Power I'd probably do it, even though I doubt he's Power's partner, or much of an upgrade on Byram as Dahlin's partner. Them (effectively) leverage Byram and futures for a tough 2C and Power's partner.

I can't believe they couldn't sell an NLL franchise. They are in demand. Was there a clause to keep them in Rochester? Maybe that's the rub. Blue Cross Arena is not exactly state of the art. A city the size of Rochester ought to have a 16-18K seat venue.

What would've happened if the injury had been TNT, or Tuch, or Skinner during that season? More excuses? Let's Look at the Timeline! 6/29/23: Quinn has successful Achilles surgery. That means Sheevyn knew about the injury a few days up to a couple weeks (depending on swelling, etc.) beforehand. That gives you a week, maybe more, to plan for UFA on 7/1 and address the now gaping hole in your top 6 (because you established at the end of the previous season that it wasn't Olofsson per the coach's usage), because even after the recovery, Quinn is unlikely to be at full speed this season. So... go get a Zucker-type in UFA. 7/1: UFA opens. They get EJohnson and Clifton. They don't trade VO or retain his salary. Sheevyn has $10M remaining in cap space to address a critical need for a team trying to make the playoffs for the 1st time in 12 years and that finished 1 point (2 points with tiebreakers) out of the playoffs previously. Luukkonen has been playing out his mind, you're still under DeLuca.500 by 5 games. At season's end, 39-37-6 is 4 games under DeLuca.500 and 7 points clear of the final Wild Card. You needed Quinn's replacement all season long. ######.

I think Rossi wasn’t treated fairly this past season. He’s an actual 2-way forward who put up 60 points. Sort of the same production we traded for Byram, but at least this may seem sustainable. He entered the doghouse in the playoffs because they placed him on the 4th line and as a result, played like a 4th line player. The guy is 23. I think he has a great chance of becoming more consistent. I view him as as a McLeod with a higher ceiling. I’m with you though, I wouldn’t send them Peterka for him unless more is coming back. I think Foligno’s best days are behind him, but still would be a positive addition, even if we’re paying him $4M for the next 4 years.

MM was a journeyman who literally got carried by an all but certain HOF'er to a few good seasons and fell straight off a cliff without Tavares. Tuch is an all-star caliber two way forward that teams pray for. There is literally no comparison here.

I'm a big proponent of raising the draft age partially for this reason. Change the draft eligibolity to three years post HS like the NFL. A more pro ready drafted player is a much more compelling league. And let's face it, the OHL, KHL, or whatever junior league anybody follows isn't growing the league by any measurable margin. But a frozen 4 that continuously has some of the best players in the world might. Half the league drafts a kid in the first round who a fan of the NHL might not be able to see even at their AHL affiliate for 2-3 years, if it all.

I feel like this is something I'd like to see in the CFL. The only major roadblock though is that travel distances in North America aren't really compatible with minor league budgets. How is a minor league team from Victoria (furthest west metro in Canada) going to pay to send a team to St John's (furthest east metro). In European countries, everything is reachable by bus, which greatly reduces the travel $$$'s.
