  2. There's also a potential Bills/Sabres weekend Jan 17/18 if the Bills are hosting a playoff game. We only have 2 months that are road heavy. Three are home heavy and 2 are even.
  3. was met with derision by the Sabrespace division. I tried.
  4. Today
  5. I bet he suits up for a few Sabresganes this season. Might be a guy who makes sure you can’t take out of the lineup. We’ll see.
  6. November 1 Caps - November 2 Cheatriots December 27 Iggles - December 27 Bruuuuuns Not a weekend but a Sunday Monday November 16 Bucs - November 17 Eulers
  7. Umm, Granato isn't the coach anymore. The Sabres gave up THAT portion of their contrarian-ness. They no longer win a majority of their road games and lose a majority of their home games.
  8. Any Bills /Sabres weekends?
  9. But, if we didn't have to make a separate trip to and from the rink literally every other day for over a week FOUR separate times, we MIGHT actually show up at the games. Was really looking forward to getting to 25 or maybe even 30 games this year. Went to 24 or 25 last year. But might be hard pressed to make it to 10. Just simply can't do that much driving during the week in that short a timeframe. Am way too busy to pull it off. The crazily frustrating off-season just keeps rolling along. 😞 (And, yes, realize you were joking, but... .)
  10. I've been snowboarding in Salt Lake many times, though I haven't been since COVID. Strictly from a snowboarding perspective, it's the best spot I've ever been to as the snow and terrain might be the best in the world. Apparently crowds have since gotten bad as the Utah puritan reputation has somewhat worn off. Snowboarding won't matter to JJ though since it would void his contract. I know a guy who played a season there for the Grizzlies 25 years ago. His attitude towards the off the ice stuff was much like JJ (he said he liked to play "guilty"). Said the clubs weren't very good, and many of the local girls were off limits. He also said alcohol was more taboo than other harder substances which made interacting even weirder. He did really like training in the mountains though and liked the restaurant scene. Obviously, things have become much more liberal and the Mormon % has dropped in the last 25 years. I can personally say I've been very much over served in the beehive state (very, very much)... much to the regret of my next day on the mountain. Still, I'd far take Buffalo nightlife over SLC. Maybe JJ will get in with some $$$ crowd over in Park City, but I'm thinking he'd be far younger than the clientele there.
  11. Karmanos has entered the chat. Somebody might be trying to make enough improvement to get a new job ASAP.
  12. Well... you've been accurate in other posts. But I dare not hope you are right because hope isn't a strategy. 🙂
  13. Well, they heard Zucker say hope isn't a strategy. So if there's no hope, then all that's left is a real strategy? the front office is brilliant!
  14. Not sure sure about SLC as I was immediately driving out of it to Provo, but the airport is nice. They have street pricing there which means all the stores use the same prices as they do at their normal street restaurants.. thought that was cool. Well, if you live outside SLC there are some really nice areas and the mountains are really nice. Not sure if it's not an upgrade.. it's missing football but it has basketball.. and the Olympics are going to be there again in 2034.
  15. And perhaps this is their thinking? If Buffalo fans won't come then let's entice them to sell to other teams' fans who will! And I liked the wing thing. I'm not blown away and I think schedule release crap is over rated anyway.. but there was some cleverness in there.
  16. I got here because of this, man I was thinking, we will suck at start, then have a ***** load of away games where we will be good.
  17. NA 26 yos taking league minimum 2 way deals rarely end up being career NHLers. This is a Karmanos signing for the Amerks.
  18. I remember his dad Curtis playing for the Saskatoon Blades in the 80's. He was a solid, hard-nosed defender who played over 1,000 NHL games. Maybe he'll take after dad.
  19. This is really Kesselring in Peterka out. The rest is a wash of equivalents. Kids being a year older has been the battle cry for a decade plus now. So Peterka gave us 20-30 goals. Will Kesselring prevent 20-30 goals? Even if he does, it's still the same.

  21. Of course this team would sh*t talk its opponents with dumb wing jokes. Feeling themselves after the Byram signing eh?
  22. That’s where I don’t excuse them. It’s like the best they are willing to do is give it the old college try. Either that or they refuse to upgrade small, only large. Essentially Pegula won’t sign off on new lucrative contracts and dead contracts if the change is negligible.
  23. Yes, 7 of 11. Ooops. Thanks for the catch. 🍺
  24. Yes, @Brawndo said they were turned down by one potential Wilford replacement and he also said something about they looked into 1 other possible coach change candidate but personally don't recall any details of that one. BUT there can't possibly be only 2 available coaches out there this spring/summer that would be better than Marty friggin' Wilford. And, while technically talking to 2 people that aren't currently in the organization IS in fact "trying," doubt anybody here would have considered that to be even close to acceptable on stall cleanout day. Bob Woods was (and afaik still is) available. He is a master at designing and running a PP. Going after him should've been a no brainer. The team IMHO is SLIGHTLY better than it was prior to making the Cozens trade. Bring in another vet or 2 and it would be marginally but perceptibly better on paper. Make 2 - 5 coaching changes and the team would be ACTUALLY better than they were at that point in time.
  25. I still don't like the trade. JBD, is a better defensemen. But, I'll give it a chance, as he did show up in Pittsburgh. But, it's such a small sample size.
  26. I see 11 games in October but get your point of being home heavy. One positive of this past season was the good home record.
