  1. Past hour
  2. The advantaged of staying longer in the lower league is that the prospects will be playing higher roles and more minutes than if they were more quickly brought up. That extra ice time will accelerate their development even more than if they played limited minutes with lesser roles with the big club. When you watch some of the young developing players play against experienced NHL men players you can see the contrast when boys play against men.
  3. Today
  4. I mean... I wasn't really thinking he would be starting anyway.
  5. Tuch is a two way player, he had good defensive stats and he led the league in blocked shots last season. He scored 36 goals last season, 94 in the past 3 seasons. He is certainly gritty enough for an Olympic All Star team. Why are you so negative on Tuch? He was 1 of 44 players invited for a shot at the Olympics, that alone puts him in a category that deserves more respect.
  6. I agree, but I'm just hoping one of them will be far above a PPG and showing themselves better off in the NHL. Unlikely I know, but this is hope season!
  7. Bringing in young players from Rochester to replace vets on an already young roster will continue plaguing this roster i.e. inexperience. Let the upcoming young players continue maturing in the lower league so when they do move to the next level they will be better prepared.
  8. Oh I don't think the Dylan Cozens comparison is accurate but we shall see what they are this year wherever they are. "Solution to the Sabres problems"? Well heck no, and you already know I hate what Adams has built, don't think the future is bright, hate our roster plan, and could go on and on with the issues they have BUT since Pegula doesn't fire Adams and he won't sell the thing and nothing there is likely to change you either quit and find a new team or try to be realistic around what we have. You also have to look at what's available. Is McTavish a perfect answer to everything? Heck no, but if he's available you look into seriously and if you can get him for picks/prospects you definitely do it.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Crazy how much territory Trump gave Putin with the lifted sanctions and TACO ceasefires, almost as if it was planned. It was obviously by Putin, using Trumps delirious state his mind is in.
  11. Wars on won on the ground. Aerial superiority is a nice to have but still doesn't guarantee victory and neither side possesses that superiority. Russia has the planes and Ukraine has the drones. I do not think any NATO ground operation(s) would be contained to the current theatre of operations.
  12. And this is an AHL thread.
  13. Kulich Thompson Tuch Benson Norris Quinn Zucker McLeod Doan Greenway Krebs Malenstyn By the end of the season, I'm hoping Östlund or Helenius can step into a 2nd or 3rd line role and demote the vets down. Not likely to happen though.
  14. As long as they don’t get hurt, they can do whatever they want.
  15. Tuch is not a gritty two-way player. Thompson's success has been mostly as a center on an awful team. He needs to prove himself as a 200-foot winger who can still score. How he plays without the puck is the biggest question with him.
  16. Leschyshyn's son is nothing more than an AHL player.
  17. CB Tre White carted off today. Leg injury. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2025/08/21/tredavious-white-injury-at-bills-practice-what-it-could-mean/85762738007/
  18. I wasn’t convinced I was interested in McTavish because we need more experience in any upgrades. But now you’ve convinced me I don’t want McTavish regardless. We don’t have enough margin for error to expend assets for another Dylan Cozens.
  19. Don’t forget about taking on a retired Johnny Boychuk’s contract for future considerations,… JFC.
  20. Mason McTavish's name is on the market because he plays like Dylan Cozens and wants to be paid like Dylan Cozens, and Pat Verbeek doesn't want to repeat the mistake that was Dylan Cozens. By most measures, Owen Power has had a better career to date than McTavish. They are the same age and the same draft. Ryan McLeod had the same amount of points as McTavish last year and is much better in his own zone. I like McTavish, but thinking he's the solution to the Sabres problems seems a bit "grass is greener" to me.
  21. How is it not all F's? FAKE POLL!!!
  22. The way it makes sense is if Allen both likes and trusts him. We know he likes him. Does he trust him in crunch time to make the big catch? This kid doesn't trust him in that situation, but don't have a say in the matter. Personally, would rather they keep Shavers (even though his and Gabe's roles wouldn't be identical) if it came down to 1 or the other.
  23. They have worked long and hard for those rankings. Thank God everyone on staff got another year.🤢
  24. I like him too but I think they want a lot. I'd suspect if it involved top prospects they'd want Helenius plus. I like the idea of trading Byram but that would leave the D very thin again. I think the D even now falls apart really quickly with any sort of injury issues.
  25. That's my thought too. It's long overdue but encouraging all the same. You need to set that tone in your AHL team first imo if you want to build that forward into the NHL team. Most of these guys will never play in the NHL (or just limited action) but you want to have the work ethic and presence start there. You also want to win down there so that the guys coming up will bring that with them too. Also, most of these grittier AHL guys know they have to work hard for a shot and so they help build the culture.
  26. Game experience is the most important part. Sure maybe an older player can pick things up faster and adjust quicker but without NHL game experience, this isn't going to work. We are less experienced this year compared to last. That alone doesn't matter, but we are just inexperienced overall.
  27. Beating a dead horse, but "practice repititon" is the concern. Haven't been to a team practice since Krueger made TC a closed door affair. Have been to over well over 100 games since that time and have watched several 100 in that time frame. With that stated, if you do dumb things in practice, you'll do dumb things in games. They do dumb things in games and the people running practices are the same ones that ran them in the past. So, so, so truly wanted at least Wilford, Appert, and Ellis relieved of all duties.
  28. I bring this up because Nazar had 12g and 26pts in 53games this past season, his first, at 21yrs old.
