Spent the weekend in Central NY for two Avett Brothers shows at Beak and Skiff. And lemme tell you something. That Beak and Skiff venue is really something. I can't say enough good things about the facilities they've put together. I will look forward to returning for more shows (likely the Avetts in 2027). It involves a weekend-away type plan for people in the 716, but it is well worth the effort. Bonus/value added: We stayed in a cottage in the woods of Cazenovia. The cottage is on the same plot as the owner's home -- so a VRBO/Air BnB, but the good kind (since the owner is present and invested). We also kicked around the Village (of Cazenovia) and found a very nice hike to do on Saturday during the day. I was heretofore unfamiliar with the towns and villages that populate that Fingers Lakes stretch of Route 20. Rolling hills, etc. Just beautiful.

Nothing. He's overrated.

Wish I had checked this thread, would have kept an eye out for you. Great show, can't believe how good Static-X still sounds. The tribute to Wayne during Cold was very nice. GWAR was wild. Going to be thinking about the video from that Lot Lizards song for a while...

Those 6'5" dudes under 200 lbs would need to have the frame capable of putting on some serious bulk...otherwise you are going to get a big guy that gets pushed all over the ice because they have a serious lack of muscle, especially lower body.
-
Would this be our modern day Mike Grier like player, or at least filling the same type of role?
-
Hyman’s don’t come back without surgery.
-
I’m not sure we’ll “miss” on Mrtka. I suspect he’ll be there at 9. I think it will come down to if we want him or someone else. But I like the idea of those guys though. I also looked into that big winger you like for our 2nd round pick. I’d love it if we came away with some big boys in this draft.

I'd need more than Miller for 9th. I can draft better Miller in Mrtka. Sure I gotta wait 2yrs but wth are we doing with yet another lhd anyways? At least mrtka plays the right.
-
I like Samuelsson, Rosen and a third to sweeten it. It gets Samuelsson out the door, moves a player I don't see as a realistic top six option and a draft pick for an upgrade. Not sure this will be enough, but at least a start.

His Dad is Kjell, came up briefly with the Rangers but is known as a Flyer and a Penguin. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=4744

And not the 9th overall pick either Didn’t Muel’s dad play for the Rangers?
-
He had wrist surgery, ligament damage. The word was him being out for the playoffs.
-
Miller is a 3rd line d-man on a good team. A one to one swap for Muel, and maybe we toss in a grade B prospect or 3rd round pick. No way you trade Power or Byram for him and then think he is going cover those minutes. He is not good enough and the Rangers know that. Sabres always working on the fringe - fooling with the 3rd pair defense and 4th line is not going to move the needle. Improve the top 4 defense and the top 6 forwards and then move some current roster players down. The only 4th line player they need is one that will be an enforcer. Sorry Kevyn, but Malenstyn/Lafferty are not that guy.

What I'm saying is this: If you miss on Mrtka 6'5.75" 218lbs you have the following Psenicka: 6'5" 185lb (late switch to CHL, upside) Amico: 6'5.5" 232lbs (knee surgery in November, upside) Kettles: 6'5.5" 195lbs (Sept bday, upside)
-
Muel. Maybe both players just need a change of scenery.
-
So Rangers are doing this because of cap reasons, right? So trading any player back that also makes a lot of money makes no sense. Our top pick is a pretty good bargaining chip then, if that is true. Now does it make sense for us to do that? I don't know, but just saying we might have what they want.
-
I don’t really like Miller. I’d much rather go after Rasmus Anderson.

Friedman- Sabres looking to move prospects for players

So water is an adhesive! -
Are there major changes coming this summer and who will make them?

So he’s allowed to trade Eichel, trade Reinhardt, trade Dylan Cozens at the deadline but even though Adams himself said that was on him , he should have acted on the trade, now it’s Pegula who said no trades? I’m not buying that. If it’s a money thing then why trade cozens for 2 higher salaries than the 2 guys we traded out? -
I'd toss Carter Amico, 6'5" 232lbs and Peyton Kettles, 6'5" 195lbs as well in this draft. Amico has knee surgery and missed a chunk of the year so he might be a diamond in the rough. Kettles won't be 18 until September and he's mean in his own zone with a developing offensive game. Both are potential 3rd round guys if they last. Both are RHD

Not sure the optics of trading Power for a middle 2/3 historical D pairing guy is enough return, I feel like he (Power) would be better used as a chip to get a much more game changing player (like on the other side optically getting a former 1st overall that has been at least offensively reasonably productive) ... so I would look to people like Muel, Quinn, Rosen, picks etc... to get that done... Just thinking out loud... guy is a pretty big hitter... is he the guy you look to pair with Power on a 2nd line D pair... I dont know enough about other aspects of his game, but does his toughness elicit more toughness from Power if he is playing with him? Just a thought....

Martin is going to get over drafted. I disagree about "most sense". Buffalo has drafted 4 rhd in early rounds the last few years. Strbak (2nd), McCarthy (3rd), Kleber (2nd), and we'll include Komarov (5th) too. Mrtka is the best of that group but in this draft specifically, there's going to be 2-3 rhd with size available at 39 and I don't think Mrtka is so far above them that he warrants 9th oa. Psenicka for example might be there at 39 and I have a sneaky suspicion might be far closer to mrtkas ability but simply lacks strength right now. That all said, it's just my opinion on it and as always I encourage others to read up, watch, and make their own conclusions.

He is left handed. The Sabres need a good veteran RHD and a reliable goalie.

I think Mrtka makes the most sense of who will be available for us. If he learns a little offense and a little toughness then I think he’ll be a solid selection.
