I'm not taking a sub par offer but I don't have to win the trade either. If the on ice team can get better than it's good for me regardless of what the on paper trade looks like. I don't think they need Norris and I don't think they need 3 goalies so I'm looking at a move there. I also have to have a firm Tuch plan. make a final offer and see what he says. Then act accordingly as you cannot let him walk for nothing like Ullmark.

It's scientific and medical. Injured areas are never the same as they were.

And yet, calloused bones are stronger than they were prior to breaking.

This is true. It basically comes down to the injury. Calloused bone is a natural phenomenon. Surgical intervention on soft tissue usually leads to some degree of scar tissue, another natural phenomenon. But, scar tissue is not as strong as the tissue around it. So, it depends on the injury.

Yes.  100%.  And breaking 1 bone does NOT make your body necessarily more prone to injury.

Jack Eichel's neck appears to be holding up just fine.

Sidney Crosby seems to have been okay.

I'm not going to put any player into a bucket as it really depends on the injuries and what's done to treat them.  Not sure if we know enough to make a statement on what will or won't happen.

Soft tissue injuries are just a different animal, once you get a lot of them then yes you typically have more laxity in ligaments and etc etc.

Not impossible to heal but a bone vs soft tissue is truly apple vs orange.

Did you notice in a recent NHL promo that a player threw (or maybe it was a "spit wad") something at the back of Eichel's neck, prompting a Jack eyeroll? Thought that was a little edgy but funny.

Where did you get the exotic notion that the Sabres want to build around a player such as Norris? The only player on the Sabres who is in the lofty category of worth building around is Dahlin. Norris certainly isn't in that category. Let's not forget that he was dealt in a one-on-one deal for Cozens. So his acquisition falls far short of an Eichel blockbuster type of deal. Hopefully, Norris becomes a first or more likely 2C player for us. If he becomes that caliber of player, then the trade works out well for the Sabres. If it doesn't, then so be it and move on.

Excuse me, but it's not an "exotic notion". He has an 8 million cap hit until 2030. You trade for that you obviously have him pegged in to be part of your top 6 core.

Except Norris doesn't have a broken bone, he has a bum shoulder and now (possibly) a groin injury (or something similar since it's mid body off a face off). One good hit into the boards and that shoulder is gone.

He will be on our top six. So if he plays up to his intended role, his salary will not be considered to be out of line.

That's not what you were arguing though. You took issue with my comment of building around him. If he's top 6, you are building around him. There's no need to argue just for the sake of arguing.

Yes and it pissed me off because it made Jack a likeable person.  BOO!

Ah, so since Quinn is in our Top Six we are building around Quinn, too?

Not quite a one for one John.

It was Cozens and a 2nd round pick for Norris and Bernard-Docker.   Adams thought he was getting three players.

You can argue about who you are "building around" and you place your "core" parameters around less or more people and all of it is just circular and meaningless. If you trade for a guy who is signed until 2030 you clearly have him in your plans that is irrefutable.

If I was GM I'd build my team quite differently. You probably would too and you'd probably do it differently than me and that's why teams are different, because GM's differ the same way. Me, for example, I start with the goalie.

I have learned that soft tissue ailments are rough, they come and go, and they really do linger.

I finished PT, but I am still stretching the quad, hammy, hip and piro formis, and calf muscle - ever since my full knee replacement in Jan 2024 it has been bothersome.

Stretch everyday and just be happy that I walk fine, I golf, I hike, and mostly do whatever I want.   But it will mean maintenance forever.

I stand corrected. My main point is that Norris was brought in to be a top two line center. And also related to that point is that if he plays up to that level, his salary would not be considered out of bounds.

We disagree on each other’s characterization of him and his role. That’s okay. Not worth quibbling over.

Jack has never been likeable and also has always been the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel.
