Crusader1969 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago If he’s not already sitting at the top of TSN’s trade board, he will be soon. The only Tuch chatter I’ve heard has come out of Vancouver media, and yeah — I get that his wife is from the area.  But I’m not interested in draft picks coming back. The question is whether you can turn Tuch into a return similar to what they got for JJP. Quote

You can't really do the jjp trade in season. You're talking a young player who's on the cusp of breaking out or is a high end prospect, a 1st, and some type of cap return. Quote
mjd1001 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago It might be tricky to make the money work, but with having McDavid likely for only 2.5 years left, being out of the playoffs right now, and coming off a 9-1 loss over the weekend, Edmonton may be desperate to make a move in the coming weeks. If anything, play Vancouver vs Edmonton (and anyone else for that matter) to drive up the price. Quote

They system sucks, they don't have a first, and they have a bunch of guys on ltir. Quote
Archie Lee Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago To Seattle for Kappo Kakko and a 1st (Seattle has their own and Tampa’s). Seattle wants to get back in the playoffs so they trade for the better player. It’s cap neutral this year for Seattle, and they have space to extend Tuch. Sabres try to thread the needle by getting a good younger, but lesser, player who is under contract for two additional seasons, along with the futures. Kakko’s contract means the Sabres can extend Benson, Doan, Kesselring and still have space to add a significant player through trade or free agency. Kakko has no trade protection. Quote
Brawndo Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Utah for one of Igilna, Desnoyers or But and the lowest of the three seconds they have Quote

The question is whether you can turn Tuch into a return similar to what they got for JJP. That's not going to happen. A deadline deal will involve pick(s) or prospects. maybe a roster player they don't want for salary reasons but you don't really want that guy either long term. Maybe you have to take him (like Bruins had to take Mittelstadt) for their cap but what you get will be futures and not good roster players. Ideally you can hope for a really good prospect like the Bruins got in Minten on the Carlo trade. If I remember correctly they got Minten, a first and a 4th. Different type of player obviously but I think you can look for something similar for Tuch. Hard to get more unless they trade and sign which seems unlikely. That's a good haul though. Sabres could use a guy like Minten. Quote
Two or less Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago  If im Sabres, im calling the Kings and seeing what are they thinking about Quinton Byfield and offering Tuch one for one. Byfield is having a poor season. 2G and they might be thinking he needs a change of scenery. A player like Tuch could be very useful to them if they face Oilers again. Byfield is still just 23. Quote
SabreFinn Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago To Devils for a 1st and Seamus Casey. Then trade Power and/or Byram for a top 6 center/left winger. Quote

LGR4GM Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago San Jose or Anaheim would be the teams I look to. Columbus as well. Actually CBJ might be a good one because Tuch might be willing to sign an extension. Quote

LGR4GM Posted 21 minutes ago Report Posted 21 minutes ago Could grab Luca Del Bel Belluz and stuff from cbj. Quote
JohnC Posted 17 minutes ago Report Posted 17 minutes ago If Tuch is dealt, it is unlikely the immediate return will make this a better team, at least for the near term. Even if the return is getting an appealing young player back, the already young Sabre roster won't be much better. It would not surprise me if Tuch rides out his contract and puts himself in a situation where he can test the market. What will the front office do? If it doesn't believe it can get a deal done, they will deal the approaching free agent player for a discounted value. This scenario has played out before as the Reinhart deal illustrated. How do you think that Dahlin and Tage will respond to the roster setback? I can see the same "Jack" get me the freak out of here scenario playing out again. Continued disfunction and incompetence are the hallmark of this cartoonish franchise. Quote
